Liz could sing the phone book and I'd still be enraptured. Knowing the 'lyrics' is not intrinsic to appreciating the music; at this stage in her career they were as impressionistic as the music. (I do know she says 'aurora borealis' a lot in this one lol) I like their whole catalog (except for Milk and KIsses; weak) but their best, most magical moments were all pre-Blue Bell Knoll. Just my .02 cents :)
@MunkeyPuzzled Milk and Kisses is due for a reevaluation. The only reason I say that is because i have heard from more than one person over the years who claimed to think it was "weak" only to discover they had not even really listened to it that much. I think everyone had sort of moved on by 1996 and the idea of a new CT record kind of got lost. It's really got some of their best moments.
@peezdayresistance ok, ok...it DOES have 'Seekers.." on it! (one of those 'wow' songs for me) And of course, a so-so album from the Twins is still 1000000x better than the 'best' offerings of anyone else. I do think they started to go into an interesting direction on this album and my initial opinions may be swayed by the fact that it's their last. Imagine where they could've gone :(
so cool...I bought this ep when it came out and used to practice Tai Chi to the music...I though, even though it is done with electric guitars if feels just like when I do tai Chi to Harold Budd...A few months later The Moon and the Melodies came out ...I was truly shocked...I guess they saw the similar essence to their music, too :)
very sophisticated and, for this, fascinating...a very involving charm..there is perhaps a problem..which one?..question without answer...it is simple..there are no solutions...no answers...the music? a formidable choice...
shum this is one of your best videos. really beautiful. i ahve been a fan of the twins since i first heard them in 1982. still think they are one of the best bands of all time. so unique.
had the rare release of Echos in shallow bay /tiny Dynamine back in the day. Only later did I realize they were 2 separate eps . a most kinetic dual release. i will have to raid your vids Shum, thank you ,thank you:)
holy pleroma Batman! i'm utterly overwhelmed by the "paranormal" qualities of both this track i'm just now hearing for the first time, and the absolutely stunning and resonant imagery SHUM has illustrated the track with! bravisimo, SHUM!
pure cumulous pristine seen through a monochrome prism,
the rainbows are in the eyes of the listeners.

As usual, this is perfectly stunning Shum. You would laugh if you knew how many
copies of "Echoes In A Shallow Bay" that I've had to purchase over the last 25yrs.
I believe I started with a vinyl copy of the EP in the mid 80's then quickly needed
a cassette for my car. Later, I found I could even wear out the CD's. I adore
every track on this.
Thank you so much Shum,
Sincerely Blaine
