I really like Christy Moore. It's too bad he is singing about the people assisting the socialists and the communist U.S.S.R. auxiliary troops (no joke) who burn down houses and churches, and shot down opposition. The International Brigades were courageous but were on the wrong side. I am very proud that the Republic of Ireland had more troops for La Falange than for the socialists (go raibh maith agat Eoin Ó Dubhthaigh).

As far as I know, they fought against a bloody would-be dictator. They did not fight in favour of Stalin; actually, many of them suffered his repression.
