Also, it was completely balanced, it did it's job. Not to mention you only had like 1/4 of the screen that you could see through in a circle, the rest is all black.

It was never overpowered. If they gave it some range, THEN you could legitimately bitch about it... I personally would too. It's good for somebody who would be using it to tag people for their team. The range is completely garbage, so it is in fact underpowered if anything. Not one thing you showed in the video made it look overpowered :/ Plus, you trying to see an enemy made you look like an idiot since its REALLY easy to see people in BF3. You could say the same about silencers on light mgs.
Yea sure, it was pretty strong before, but they made it literally useless now. A better fix would have been to increase the recoil, rather than make its range like 10 inches in front of you. They lost so many users because people with sub-par TVs used it just to see anything in the game.
In my opinion, they should bring back the old imaging which was very clear from distance, but make the recoil dramatically higher than other scope so you'd have a reasonable trade-off.
Good to hear they nerfed this bullshit. IRNV was (and it still looks like it) dev supported coloured skins that you had to hack to get in CSS and other FPSes. Bf3 is a beautiful game. The natural camouflages along with dust, sun glare, suppression and smoke make it difficult to see enemies. Graphics wise it's one of the most realistic shooters out there.
The IRNV ruined this. Totally. Bullet went past your ear? turn around and you can't see anything? just right click and that guy lights up like a Christmas tree. How about Snipers using the IRNV? 1x Zoom? Really? Oh yeah... it's OP nvm.

@cunnelatio No it's not. It's all foggy/blurry for about 3-5 seconds then clears up barely. It was fine the way it was, just too make people used it. I would of just made the amount of kills to get it higher. Instead of 100, make it 250.

It doesnt give you alot of time to react when you do finally see the enemy from close / medium range. But it seems to increase the accuracy of my shots i give it that much.

@Carlit0Tit0 metro is like the worst, however i think it may have to do with where the dust is, certain areas. if u dont "find a good spot" then it doesnt take like 5 secs to see someone 5 feet in front of u. plus on the new maps i have seen less dust then the old maps, i yet to test IRNV on the new maps though. i never really used IRNV after the patch until recently, i went 9-0 first min TD on casp.border and it didnt seem as bad as it did the first time i tested it at Op. People who act like one weapon or attachment is better than another are probably just people who are mad that they're favorite weapon combos are ineffective. I've service starred just about every gun at least once and my accuracy, kpm are less than 5% of each other so I know first hand that nothing is really OP. Some things are probably under powered, like the damn Saiga, but I don't notice any better than average weapons.
IRNV was not OP. Its IRNV!!! It does what realistically its supposed to do, and that's spot heat signatures of enemies and other items. You might as well say 12x's scope is OP, because you can't use your scoped magnum to kill a sniper at 300m. If you don't use IRNV and someone spots you and kills you first, then try using it yourself. (Not anymore of course, because now its just an enemy smokescreen basically, with no visibility.)
@danisuperedition go with the last scope on assoult rifles you can unlock with 3,4x zoom. it's like the irnv without the green light, but still works on short to long range.

IRNV was hella overpowered, everyone used it because it essentially gave you brightskins
They can keep the blown out bullshit outdoors in sunlight, but in dark areas it should function as it did previously so as not to render it completely useless

@cunnelatio Agree. IRNV should deffinitely be as it was before patch on maps such as Operation Metro where it is dark. Should be more effective in low light conditions.

@cunnelatio No it's not. It's all foggy/blurry for about 3-5 seconds then clears up barely. It was fine the way it was, just too make people used it. I would of just made the amount of kills to get it higher. Instead of 100, make it 250.

@cunnelatio I have tried it a day ago as well and what i dont like is that there is this dust effect when you look through it, just cant see a thing up close sometimes. It doesnt give you alot of time to react when you do finally see the enemy from close / medium range. But it seems to increase the accuracy of my shots i give it that much.

People complaining about BF3 equipments need to chill. like the USAS and Tact light.. it's realistic okay. nothing is overpowered and unfair. everything is balanced. it's the way you use these things that can make them so effective. like this IR being "overpowered." this is stupid. atleast it's useful. last time i checked using thermal in CoD is pointless since of the perks. @Carlit0Tit0 metro is like the worst, however i think it may have to do with where the dust is, certain areas. if u dont "find a good spot" then it doesnt take like 5 secs to see someone 5 feet in front of u. plus on the new maps i have seen less dust then the old maps, i yet to test IRNV on the new maps though. i never really used IRNV after the patch until recently, i went 9-0 first min TD on casp.border and it didnt seem as bad as it did the first time i tested it at Op. Metro

People who act like one weapon or attachment is better than another are probably just people who are mad that they're favorite weapon combos are ineffective. I've service starred just about every gun at least once and my accuracy, kpm are less than 5% of each other so I know first hand that nothing is really OP. Some things are probably under powered, like the damn Saiga, but I don't notice any better than average weapons.

IRNV was not OP. Its IRNV!!! It does what realistically its supposed to do, and that's spot heat signatures of enemies and other items. You might as well say 12x's scope is OP, because you can't use your scoped magnum to kill a sniper at 300m. If you don't use IRNV and someone spots you and kills you first, then try using it yourself. (Not anymore of course, because now its just an enemy smokescreen basically, with no visibility.)
