I am a devoted fan of Beyonce but I watched all the movies she was in and I have to say she cannot act. Just because you are a chart topping artist doesn't mean you can put out good quality movies. I really give her thumbs up for trying but that's not Academy Award acting. More the less she's probably doing it because she likes it, but not to win an award I hope not.

Sometimes they cast people who will fill seats in the theatre's. And yes, sometimes they do cast people who can't act. And Directors don't cast anyone. Beyonce was also the Executive Producer, so as far as Directors casting people who can act, they didn't really have a choice.

But, before she can be called a great actor, she'll have to put in a lot more work with practice. Acting is something that takes time and she needs more of it to become good.
I can understand believing in her, but I still like to be honest no matter how much I believe in an artist. That role was mediocre at best, nothing award winning about it. I can see why there was such a buzz about her in DreamGirls, because it was a stronger role, not an amzing performance, but this role wasn't anything to raise an eyebrow about. I'm not gonna knock her strictly because she's Beyonce, but I am not gonna praise her, simply because she is Beyonce
