One of few singles I bought as a teenager. Zip forwards and single lost I bought the album only to be disgusted that the version of At 17 was not the same as the single. There was some horrible Mariachi band on it. Zip forwards again and now I find it difficult to listen to any other version. She's great live in the various clips around but it's just not the same. Once you've heard this Mariachi version a few times it's difficult to go back to any other. Wonderful song. Thanks.

By the time I was a senior I had put on 25 lbs of muscle and started shoving back. I bloodied a few noses, busted a few lips and blackened some assorted eyes. After about my 3rd fight, the word got out that I fought back and could hit like a hammer(my father was a boxer in the Navy during WW II). I was left alone after that. It was still a sad high school experience.
