What makes it so impossible for a man to sing this? Yes, the song was written in the context of a teenage girl, but anyone regardless of gender could have experienced the same thing as Wendla. I'm a 22 year old male, and my parents never sat me down and gave me "The Talk", nor did my parents ever teach me how to handle life as a gay man. My parents were just as conservative as Wendla's, and I when I hear this song, I know firsthand the feelings being presented.

I loved this, especially the lower range. I wish he's sing there more often. I didn't really hear the strain, I heard the edge I like in his voice. I like the way he covers songs in a different style. This sounded bluesy to me. He did a great cover of Cassie's What I Did for Love from Chorus Line too.
