cool! not I'm wondering, was that something the programmed into it or did it grab it of its own accords. like based on the fact the object grabed its attention and the i grabed it.
In the experiment shown in this video the robot was programmed to detect and track that specific ball (in 3D) and to grab it.

It is all programmed, not matter how complex the algorithms are it is always programmed.
