Its like the newer riddims are blurring the lines and are sounding a lot like House, Techno, and Hip-hop and such. Nothing wrong with that but its a change in the sound indeed compared to the older styles. More danceable and crossoverish. Even Soca seems to incorporate some Funky House elements too.

I really think they are changing the sound of dancehall music a little too much these days. Dancehall is sounding more and more like dance music or techno and noone seems to notice. Picture the whole of Jamaica dancing to techno music in the clubs. It's losing the jamaican flavor.

dats a very good point, i noticed that. the sounds and beats changed dramatically. the beats r more hip hop then dancehall or reggae and some riddims almost like techno but i cant complain. they dont sound too bad
