  • Liked the Epiphone and the Kay.

  • Your playing was fantastic, as were most of the instruments, but that Douglas doesn't sound like it was meant to be played acoustic. It sounds like a quiet version of my Gretsch 5120, which isn't even a jazz guitar!

What do you think of the Epiphone's acoustic tone? Is it sufficiently loud? I recently had to sacrifice the only dreadnought I had, and need something that's loud but with a good jazz tone for a good price.

  • hybrid picking to to create that multi guitar effect?

  • @avatarcollides2day I recorded a loop first than continue with solo.

  • Great stuff, I was wondering about the douglas, do you think it can sound like the epiphone with different strings and bridge changed to a wooden instead of the metal /wood on there now?

  • @chordfinger1 ... It originally came with wooden bridge. I replaced it to hear the difference. I am not sure which one I like better. Strings are flat wound 12-52. It definitely sounds different than with 'regular' round wound strings. It never sounded like Emperor Regent but than it is significantly smaller and thinner guitar. I was not particularly impressed with acoustic sound. Keep in mind that Douglas costs less than 1/3 of Emperor Regent.

  • Thanks so much man, now i can't wait to for the package to get here

By the way, I really dig your playing

  • what do you think of the carlo robelli manhattan? i just ordered one used and would like to know what to expect

  • @blackmagswithcats it is great guitar. I was able to set very low action without any slightest buzz.
