As a dual US/Canadian citizen I have the choice to join either country's army. I'm going to join the Canadian Army. Reason is that as Canadians we've always been the Underdog in militaries - we aren't credited enough for what we do time after time no matter how well we fight and kick ass because we are next to the US - military superpower of the world. This motivates me to fight because we always have something to prove to the world. Now where would the motivation to fight be if I was in the US?

That's actually how the Canadians fought in WW1. Canadian units were used to spearhead every American and British attack. The Germans were afraid of us and would only attack fortified positions Canadians were not defending, so Canadians were moved around at night.
Germans called us storm troops and it's what they modeled their SS after.
In WW2 Hitler took Vimy Ridge and took a tour of the WW1 monument to Canada. He ordered destruction of allied monuments but left it unharmed

That's actually how the Canadians fought in WW1. Canadian units were used to spearhead every American and British attack. The Germans were afraid of us and would only attack fortified positions Canadians were not defending, so Canadians were moved around at night.
Germans called us storm troops and it's what they modeled their SS after.
In WW2 Hitler took Vimy Ridge and took a tour of the WW1 monument to Canada. He ordered destruction of allied monuments but left it unharmed

Had it been made of bronze or brass like most other monuments of that era, it likely would have ended up as torpedo tubes or shell caseings.

@marksman303 Actually Hitler visited the vimy memorial to prove the Canadian press was wrong when stories appeared in Canadian newspapers that the Germans had destroyed it. It was reported that he admired it. And a big reason he admired it is that it was a memorial to the fallen and did not have any of the evil Hun messages and such many of the french memorials did. He ordered the sight at Compein, (not sure of the spelling) blown up after the french surrendered there.

@marksman303 A major factor in Hitler leaving Vimy Alone was that it didnt glorify war. Hitler was deeply connected to the Great War as he had fought in it. He toured Vimy to show the world that he didnt destroy it as rumours of its destruction had spread to the Canadian and British Parliments.
He appreciated its message and as such assigned a detachment of the SS to gaurd the monument from the German Army untill its eventual capture by the Allied advance.

@SNeyePED The only people that underestimate Canadian soldiers are those that have never been taught anything about Canada and it's history at war. Canada is known world wide as having the most disciplined and highly trained regular forces in the world. This is not opinion, rather, it's dictated by history. It's too bad Canada only has a population of 34 million. Per Capita, Canada is the most successful nation on earth, both economically and militarily.

@karambiatos The C7 and C8 are almost identical to the M16 and M4 exept they have been adapted to operate in much more extreme climates such as the Canadian Artic. Due to this they are actually in high demand right now from European countries.

Thanks for the comment :) The Canadian Army is closest to the USMC in the way it functions and operates, although I'd say we're alot more rounded than most American Forces, due to our shortage of manpower you must be good at everything. Our soldiers always win wargames against the US, however the Americans have all the cool toys and lots of them. The best friend on the battlefield is American support

Impressive, you canadians dont waste any time. Overwhelming the enemy with fire power constantly rushing forward stealing the battlefield out from under them. You guys are fine warriors. I would be honored to serve next to you. Hooaaah Red devils and all canadian grunts.
