this video brings back all the memories and emotions we faced during this series. very bittersweet to watch haha. Please just one healthy season Rockets!!!!
unbelievable video!!! This was an amazing rockets team to watch for the entire year. We just dont give up plain and simple. Great tribute to what Clutch City is all about: determination, dedication, and passion. The Houston Rockets have the biggest hearts in the NBA
i gained so much respect for yao ming when i saw him go into the tunnel after getting hurt and telling the trainer "No i wanna play, i wanna play." and walked right back out there... wow
Alright heres a question for you. Take a moment and take T-Mac out of the picture and think of the team he had when they were going into the playoffs last season. Now take Yao out of the picture now and compare the players T-Mac had in the playoffs (without Yao, and Rafer) to the ones that are playing right now. People keep blaming T-Mac for falling us in the playoffs when hes the one who always steps up. His teammates usually dissapear. So you cant keep on blaming him man.
Yes your right and I think next year is the year he has to prove to the organization that he can play and lead us somewhere or else he is shipped. But the Rockets are also winning without Yao so what do you make of that? And also remember last year when he led the Rockets to the 22 game win streak? You cant just make assumptions.
you people that say tmac is overated & that the rockets are better without him, are full of shit. the only reason tmac wasnt doing good lately was because he was playing through an INJURY. with tmac & yao injured, NO ONE gave the rockets a shot. EVERYBODY counted the rockets out. thats alright though..TELL US WE CANT!!! GET RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man I wish Yao didnt go down. Damn it. This season was one of the best if you go on and think about it. Next year is ours. Healthy T-Mac and everyone. Clutch City baby!!!
if you ask me, you guys are better off without T-Mac...he's a liability to that team. You guys wouldn't be where you are right now if he was in the lineup...he's beyond overrated and should've been traded for Vince Carter when you had the chance. Hopefully, T-Mac stays injured or gets traded...think about it, with him in the lineup, you guys never made it out the first round, with him out of the lineup, look where you're at...nuff said!!
That's the liability he is...a proven injured player. it seems like he's always injured because since he's been with the team, have you guys ever gotten out of the first round?? Look, i'm not saying he's a bad player, i'm just saying that without him, the Rockets are so much better off. they played a tough gritty game last night and without T-Mac, i think they're tougher, especially with QB's finest backing you guys up...T-Mac is soft.
.......to correct you, we never had Artest in the lineup.......he made the whole team tougher..........and you dont let a proven superstar like T-Mac just go.......im confident they can beat the lakers tonight...........but IF we loose, next year will be all RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i agree...they are winning without Yao...Yao's one of the keys to bringing Houston a championship again...on the other hand...T-Mac?? Yes Yao lead you guys to a 22 game win streak...during the regular season!! where were they at when it mattered most??? i'm just stating obvious facts, not assumptions...this team has gotten farther without T-Mac, and you can use the excuse that he's always injured, but that gets tiring since he's injured all the time.
Wait, the only addition I can think of is Ron Artest, and he and Yao pretty much carried the load for the Rockets. Look, you seem like a person that knows a lot about the gameand I respect that, and i'm not out on a personal vendetta against T-Mac...i think he's a great player, but a player that's seems to be an injury liability...his stock is down, and he's probably gonna stay a Rocket because of the simple fact that nobody wants to take the risk in someone who's always injured.
answer me this one question...if the rockets make it all the way to the Championship without T-Mac and win...what do you do with him?? i keep hearing that when he's healthy, the dynamic of the team will change for the better...i don't see it, he averages 30 to 40 touches a game, how does that help the team?? not to mention the man is always injured and it's something that's gonna keep recurring with him because ever since i can remember, he's always injured, but that's a matter of my opinion...
Well it will be great but the same goes for Yao. They will see how he plays and if it doesnt go well then they will trade him. And a lot of teams are interested in him.
many of u think Yao wasnt playing now, thast wrong, he is always there with the team, he's the motivation for the team and rockets play even harder coz they know thats the only way they might have a chance to win and the lakers play like arrogant bastard who look down on rockets...
rockets won few games without Yao, doesnt mean Yao isn't the best center in NBA, doesnt mean they can win every match without Yao, doesnt mean they no longer need a good center in this team. unless you want to play basketball without a center...
That's what i'm saying..Artest is the key to this team. he's strong, and he has something the rockets lacked..toughness!! something T-Mac lacks..with everyone so worried about giving T-Mac his thirty to forty touches a night, nobody else can step up, which is why the rocketes were never able to get out of the 1st round, but when everyone is contributing like they are now, it's a whole different team..last night proved that...they won without Yao and T-Mac..& brooks was your leading scorer.
A winning Formula, Yao, Artes, Tmac each get 15 touches a night, and if theyre hot keep feeding them the ball, if not u have scola, landry, wafer, and brooks which can put up 20+ any night. Lowry, Hayes, and a good 7 ftr to be yaos backup is all we need!!!!
Though this is a nice video and I kinda recognize that Rockets got some swagger against my Lakers, they got their ass kicked tonight and once again proved that only the strong survive.
Incredible video. I don't care if we lose, these guys have made me so damn proud. If we win, then awesome. I love anything with Explosions In The Sky too. Epic, emotional beautiful music.
Anyone know where the quote comes from? Is it a movie? My guess was Friday Night Lights since it was an Explosions In The Sky song playing.
deeone92 --> the name of that song is unsure but i do know its by explosions in the sky. it was also in that movie friday night lights..... LETS GO ROCKETS! maybe some rockets players should watch this and get a little bit of inspiration.. i know i got a hell load of it
the song is called Firsst Breath After Coma by a band called Explosions in the Sky...they are the same band that did the music for Friday Night Lights...great stuff......and GO ROCKETS!
I know game 7 didn't turn out to be great but the 6 games leading up to that were about the best you'll ever see in the NBA playoffs.

Funny using this audio considering the strongest team in the NBA won the whole thing.
cachamelion 1 year ago
@cachamelion Kind of self-evident, don't you think?
thekurtman31 9 months ago
@cachamelion yes, but the audio suggested that the underdogs won.

I personaly think if Yao,Mutombo and Mcgrady were 110% healthy in the 09 playoffs they would've gone all the way.

Ron-ron claimed last season that:
"THE ROCKETS ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NBA"
And of course the so-called "expert analyst in the NBA said no!
Hey, fact we lost. But here the better view,
The Rockets Lost in 7 games.
The Rockets Lost WITHOUT YAO (some games) and TMAC (rest of playoffs)
The Rockets Lost WITHOUT Mutombo, who had always had his way defensively.
Yeah the Rockets lost, but if ever there was a beautiful defeat, it should be this one. And LA had an "ugly win".
mrREALINO 2 years ago 20
The Rockets had heart and guts, arguably moreso than the Lakers in that series. They have had hard luck with all of their injuries.
All of what you said is true, but having said that, I'd rather have an "ugly win" than a "beautiful defeat".

Everyone is going to have to bring their "A" game from the starters to the bench in game seven for the Rox. We CAN win.
I was at the games when Houston was dubbed "Clutch City" and can only imagine what will happen should we win game seven.

Yeah, he's hurt.
I'll take a 40+ point liability in the playoffs any day.

Thats where your wrong. He was hurting us because he was injured the whole season. But when hes healthy he is the the missing peace to winning.
