  • i miss the desparation of the attitude era nowadays u would never hear another wrestler call another one a homo wrestling fans need tna to continue to try to step its game up and force vince into a corner to stop this pg bullshit and go back to what made wrestling entertaining to watch cuz this stuff nowadays is crap the only thing remotely saving it is cm punk and his keeping it real promos

  • Shawn's intensity from 4:37 on should be shown to all these new hacks in WWE and TNA on how to successfully give a promo and be believable in your message.

  • This...this was the prime of wwf....Fuck this new wwe shit

  • 3:47

  • WE R CANADA, FEAR R MAPLE SYRUP!!!!!!!!!

  • Don't confuse expansion for destruction! Bh got owned!

  • bret basically admitted here he stood in the way of the outsiders when they were there the first time around...every top guy is paranoid over losing his spot on the roster, especially bret. as time goes on, I like hart less and less...

  • BRET HART YOU ARE A ZERO,MY HERO

  • Just hearing all of this just make me wanna scream "THATS WHAT HE/SHE SAID!"

  • Where did HBK get that necklace from what size ring is it?

  • @SayHI2TheBadGuyMang Bret got paid double in WCW and only had to work half the schedule he did in the then-WWF.Mind you,it didn't take him long to find out that Vince McMahon was right about WCW not having any idea what to do with him.

  • "yes Bret Hart!"

  • dx were alot better in those days unlike the kiddie friendly days

  • @SayHI2TheBadGuyMang Shawn was definitely worth at least $1 million/year even then because he had worn the WWF Title twice before by then.I'll even admit that Vince signed Bret to too long of a deal, although that wasn't Bret's fault.

  • @landrykkb hey you should read bret harts book the hitman he explains pay they got a weekly pay and it was always changing at that time

  • @smp5608 I actuallly have it,although it's been a while since I read it.

  • @SayHI2TheBadGuyMang Bret making more money than DX didn't matter at the end of the day because Vince could no longer afford to pay him according to the terms of his contract any longer.

  • When hbk n hunter does them faces itz funny az idk what

  • 6:20-6:39- dude was spot on here.

  • 2:15 lmao you'd never hear jokes about homosexuals nowadays. political correctness and bullshit

  • Bret Hart mic skills sucked in my opinion. the only reason why he was doing fairly well in this segment is because he was talking about how he really felt about shawn in real life lol. Shawn mic skills is on a whole other level.

  • Heel vs Heel feud. Fucking awesome.

  • Bret Hart was the biggest hater ever, i use to like bret but when he started talking shit about shawn the way he did, it was obvious that he knew he wasn't better than HBK. Im glad that shawn screwed the shitman, cause he was starting to get annoying.

    PS. bret hart sucks

  • At the time nobody was more of an Outlaw than Shawn Michaels thats why D-Generation X worked at the time because they were really anti-establishment not like in 2006

  • @xtremerockomaniac

HBK was also a total asshole politically and pilled out of his mind in 1997.

  • this was the time when rivalries looked real unlike the bullshit they show today

  • Shawn @ 1:00 - 1:10 lmao

  • HBK has a point. If you're the champion, someone else shouldn't be carrying your ppvs.

  • On the night when Bret and HBK patched up their real life differences back in 2010, both men mentioned to each other how great their WrestleMania 12 match was. They won't get an argument from me, I remember that as one of the best WrestleMania main events ever.

  • dam 3 wrestlers in that vid are dead

  • Prophetic words from HBK there indeed...with HHH wifing up Steph, The Kliq owns the business LITERALLY...good to see them bring Nash back, and instantly insert him into the hottest angle in the industry lol

  • this is my favorite monday night raw of all time!

  • Shawn Michaels....YES Bret Hart LOL

  • this is shawn michaels at his best gotta love this dude

  • Bret: Shawn Michaels!

    Shawn:...yes! Bret Hart lmao

  • wow I was a gay teenager growing up watching this shit and didnt catch this. I cant believe WWE allowed this shit to be said on its programming. This anti gay bullshit wouldnt be allowed today

  • @calvinmurray does it really annoy you that much? being gay is unnatural and sick, however doesn't change the way i see that person just disagree with what they do.

  • @TheYates100 Being gay is not unnatural to gay people. And if you knew how most gay people sruggle with the fact that they are gay you wouls understand why we have to keep anti gay garbage out of entertainment

  • @calvinmurray Ye fair enough but it goes against nature as you must know. I honestly don't see anything totally against gays here but of course i'm not gay and wouldnt notice these things. Ye i agree that they shouldn't be slandered on as no group of people deserve to.

  • Hart Foundation all the way i miss them so much.

haha i love how Bret makes that comment about the "H" in HBK standing for homo. This was the best time in WWF and he called Chyna a man too lol! Classic stuff right here!

  • Imagine if this bit happened today. GLAAD would blast WWE.

  • shawn michaels is the best there is.. the best there was.. and the best that ever will be....!!

  • @height2 shawn wasnt the only spoiled child in the wwe. Bret was pretty bad himself

  • That was a pretty dry promo after Bret left! Shawn seemed pretty unsettled, if not pissed about The Hitmans reference to running fellow Kliq members Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Sean Waltman out of the WWE at the time! The "Spoilt Child" at the time didnt like that comment, so he had to promo again, which in truth actually seemed pretty sub-standard & not that good, he just had to "get some back"lol! Pretty sure Vince would've had some sore ears out the back afterwards..lol!

  • 1997-1999

The greatest period to be a wrestling fan!

  • 1:22 hahahahhaha

  • Jean Paul Levesque (aka Triple H), Sean Waltman (aka X-Pac), Shawn Hickembottom (aka Shawn Michaels), Kevin Nash (aka Disel), was the best of a generation. Kliq RULE!

  • @Ryvolution94 micheal shawn hickembottom....his middle name is shawn

  • @diplo33

    Thanks, i didn't knew that

  • DX got two words for the wwe and pg era ...4:42

  • I love Bret Hart but his Mic skills are not very good at all but thank God he was one of the best technical wrestle in history. I will always love Bret till the day I die

  • @Mickiefan4life1 If people "got along better" then there would never be any good fights or any interest in story telling. Their hatred for one another really made the story more interesting than anything.

  • @kolz4ever1980 Bret and Austin never really hated each other, and that was a pretty intense rivalry.

  • Crowds getting crazy...

  • Damn. Bret kinda ripped him on this one. =/

  • where's part one?

  • @UPYOURZ41 WWE took it down. I looked in his profile for it, it said WWE has copyrighted it

  • bret hart is the best technical wrestler ever shawn michaels is an arrogant prick although he is great to watch he is still a prick and had his cock up vinces red ass

  • @sugarcoatedbeard Better than the balding, broken down, fan ass kisser, religion nut case he became later on. ;)

  • @kolz4ever1980 very true :)

  • he still had the respect for kiq epic!!

  • "Bringing that idiot out here was even worse"... classic line lol

  • the kliq owns this business ! Klassic

  • Hart was legitamately upset that Michaels had main evented Badd Blood with the Undertaker while he was stuck in a tag team flag match with Vader and Patriot. That's probably why he snuck in that comment about him making more money than Shawn.

  • Comment removed

  • I miss this era soooo much. What is the future of the WWE going to look like?

  • @Missknowitall77 nothing like this

  • @Mamba1743 - So true and so sad :(

  • @xxxinc

Are you telling me that Bret Hart doesn't belong in the ring or on the mic with Shawn and HHH? Because Bret is definitely in there league as far as wrestling, if not better. I will admit he sucks on the mic.

  • @summerslam96

I agree with HBK being great at cutting a promo, but Bret Hart was a much better wrestler and had better matches than HBK.

  • bret's trying to be a heel, but he's still gettin pop

  • I don't think wrestling has ever more real than around this time in late 1997 especially between Michaels and hart.

  • @666Horns exactly. shawn michaels and bret hart's rivalry is the reason 97 is my favorite year of wwe. the period of their rivalry brought IMO more excitement then anything in wwe history because it was common some pretend hatred everything was real. they constantly did shoots on each other and made obvious personal remarks, they fought backstage, and their rivalry was prominent in the screwjob happening. idk if we'll ever get the feel of the excitement this feud brought in wwe again

  • So very true

  • Bret for all his qualities and talent never could accept the business needed to change, in particular the way the WWF presented their product. The WWF at this time was immensely stale and needed the injection of the Attitude Era or risk going out of business - but Bret never accepted or believed it was needed. As much as I like and respect Bret, HBK at this time was carrying the company on his back, title or not, because he gave the show energy, life and made it watchable.

  • 3:50 legendary

  • bret: i issue u a challenge to step in the ring with the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be

shawn: yeah but do u want him to wrestle u 2nyte the question is do u want him to wrestle u.....hahahha....hbk the very best of his era

  • My fave promo of all time even above the great austin/rock promos.

  • Comment removed

  • fuck shawn michaels

  • love how brets son cuts off trple h bret forever

  • HAHAHAHA fuck bret hart and his self righteous bullshit. "I MAKE MORE MONEY THAN YOU WAAAHH YOU AREN'T BETTER THAN ME I HAVE THE BELT WAAAH YOU ARE A DISGRACE WAAAH!" HBK and HHH are laughing at Hart because he is a dipshit. This reminds me of high school, where the biggest nerd in school with a 4.0 GPA and no dick tries to insult the captain of the football team with the hottest girlfriend. It always ends the same way, and that's what happened to bret hart.

  • This fued seemed too real.. I know these two really had Bad Blood... Bottom Line ima give it to HBK

  • "oh Im no queer!!!"

  • These were the days when commercials didn't start until HBK decided he was finished talking.

Probably the advantage of having Vince at ringside too. That would never happen these days.

  • bret sucks on mic

    HBK way better

  • Bret was always horrible and awkward on the mic. He had no business being in the same league as HBK or HHH. I miss this Shawn, i really wish he would drop the whole born again/religous thing. Its tired and played out and totally NOT him. My favorite part is when he said i got 2 words for ya, suck it and nobody even payed attention to it. Just shows how long ago this era was.

  • @XXXINC fuck u bret was best

  • HHH = Butthead, HBK = Beavis.

  • Legendary Raw is War segment...Best era ever

  • DX FOREVER!

  • Bret Hart is the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be.

  • I don't care about the Boo's that just shows you expression of attitude era

  • he was right at that time the kliq owed the wrestling buissness

  • @hbk2hhh they do even now

  • hbk awesome promo cutter. none better.

  • Amazing of how true and ironic the last part of HBK's speech is "The Kilq owns this business and at Survivor Series the kliq is going to own you!" Well we all know what happened at SS1997 and as for the kliq owning the business, well we also know who HHH is married too and that pretty much is the business within itself so, he made a great point!

  • @JASONFIED HHH wasn't involved with Stephanie at the time,or it at least wasn't public knowledge yet if so.

  • best part of this entire segment is 4:40-4:44..."I've got 2 words for the 'Hitman' Bret Hart, SUCK IT! and I've got more..." CLASSIC MIC SKILLS!

  • Back in the day when cutting off Triple H wouldn't get you fired.

  • im a little confused, who is supposed to be the face herelol

  • spare me your tears lol, only thing that bret ever said that i liked

  • @South817side Strange since Bret didn't say that lol. He said " spare me your tears" Spare me your tears? I don't even know what that could mean in that situation.

  • Comment removed

  • @masterpete24 Bret Hart said "spare me your cheers", not tears.

  • @ArcofRiolan Yes I know that but now looking again I typed tears as well hahaha, I meant to put cheers, my bad. Other dude confused me or something.

  • 3:49 lol

  • 1:23... Yes Bret Hart? LMAO

  • Vince should get up and say "YOU'RE FIRED" to HBK and HHH at the start.

  • all those gay jibes by bret, he didnt want to do it. you can tell he was uncomfortable about it. i read that in his book (which is amazing by the way)

  • They didnt know hwo to cheer or boo. Untill Bret got on the mic everyone decision was made who to boo lol. Bret and Shawn are the greatest theres no debating that but Bret had horrible promos.

  • 4:39 that was the first '' i got two words... Suck it'' from DX? :o

  • Comment removed

  • Bret Hart's mic skills SUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

  • hhh sound like a girl

  • Wow, Bret just does not compare to Shawn on the mic at all.

  • RAW WAS WAR!!! I MISS THAT

  • @revolversand nowadays their slogan should be RAW is DULL

  • BIRTH OF DX!!!

  • isnt bret getting a mixed reaction here? listen to crowd carefully 20-40% are cheering for him

  • "You're nuthin but a homo & that guy there in the green shirt is nuthin but a homo"

[HHH sheepishly] "oh, I'm no queer"

    lol

This segment was a solitary victory for Bret Hart at a time when he (and the rest of the Harts) were getting fucked senseless by these two.

  • @0munchhausen Its so wierd hearing homophobic comments from Bret, gave a bit of a boost to this promo in my opinion

  • @0munchhausen I always thought that DX won this segment against The Hart Foundation. Interesting to see another point of view though.

  • HBK's SWAGGER was off the fucking charts.

  • The hatred was so big haha.

  • Montreal ScrewJOB ?????

  • this is hilarious 'Yes Bret Hart'....and when bret says "until u take this from me"....yeah that's funny stuff lol

  • It was so hard switching from Nitro to Raw at this time. By the time 1999 rolled along, I was pretty much done with WCW. I still watched it here and there, but Raw was un-misseable back then, an absolute amazing show week in and week out.

  • was Bret Hart...really a "paper champion"?, a lot of wrestlers have said ratinsg went down with bret...and people started getting tired of the gimmick...also, they said he had the title cause' of mcmahons relationship with the hart family...

  • @CityofAngelsAGC Rubbish, Bret had to wait 6 or 7 yrs to even get a wwf/e tittle shot cause of hogans dominance, nothing to do with vince and the hart family, infact it was vince who put stu out of bussniess. In 97, hogan turned heel in wcw and the nwo formed, people were shocked and wanted to see hw it played out. This was actually one of the good pieces of writting wwf/e did, dx vs hart foundation, also you had austin, hbk, taker, kane ect, the storylines were there the viewers werent.

  • @powerking23 cool thanks for the info, I KNEW something didnt ADD UP.

  • @powerking23 So true. I guess that's why Shawn at the time felt so underrated. Everything about the guy was better than anyone who has come before him or after him. His promo work was off the charts, his matches were the greatest ever, and he had it all. He just didn't have viewership unfortunately. Austin had the attitude era. Hogan had the golden age and massive viewership and exposure in mainstream with SNME. Shawn had diddly. It's very frustrating as a fan of his.

  • @Summerslam96 He certainly was the top gun in WWF at a very transitional time for sure.

  • @CityofAngelsAGC Of course, there will always be jealousy of whomever the champion is at a certain time.

  • This was brilliant.

Hart: HHH is gonna wrestle the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be.

HBK: But is he gonna wrestle you?

  • If I'd been there, and I respect Bret Hart but when he said, 'I want you to face the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be,' I would've said ,'Oh, cool, when does that guy get here?' LOL, although you gotta love Bret, Shawn, and HHH. All legends.

  • 3:22 "other two guys" what does Chyna have to with anything

  • Comment removed

  • @datch1kp00k13 I know

  • mannnn idk why they never gave some people chances cz they couldnt "work a mike" bret has never been able to work a mike, ive hated seeing his promos, still one of the best in the ring though.

  • LMAO hunter & shawns reaction to the hart foundations music starting is hilarious

  • They must of really hated each other back then.

  • PAPER CHAMPS!!!haha LMFAO

  • OH NO, ITS THE HART FOUNDATION! OH NO THE HART FOUNDATION, WHT R WE GNNA DO XDDD

  • Shawn Michaels was the Initial Outlaw in the WWF at that time. The Good ol' days

  • is it so wrong that i fucking love shawn michaels?

  • @AllieLovesHBK no not at all..i luv em too wether or not he was an asshole back in the days!!! lol

  • Further proof that Bret Hart sucked with the mic but this part was hilarious..

HART: 'The guy with the green shirt is a homo.."

HHH: "Oh no..I'm just queer..' (sarc/)

  • bret hart always whines but his shit talking in this promo is bad ass.

  • HBK wasn't kidding about being the Main Event, he wasn't even champion at this point and he was still main eventing all the ppvs. Nobody's main evented more in 97 than HBK, no ones even close to him. Actually HBK was the man from 1995-1998 when he retired.

  • Those were also the years the WWF was getting demolished by WCW and it wasn't until HBK retired and Stone Cold took over things started to change for the WWF.

  • @diablo313 at this point in late 97, the tide was starting to turn in favor of the wwf with THIS hbk at the forefront and if it wasnt for a back injury hbk and austin would be remembered for helping the wwf win the monday night war. Austin symbolized what the attitude era was and was the era's face from 98-01 but hbk started the era with antics like this during his degenerate heel run from Aug 97- Mar 98 then austin took over.

  • @TheWill1225 Which was only 7-8 months of his long mid 90s run that spanned around about 3-4 years.

  • @diablo313 of his two year run as the main event wm 12-wm14 hbk had no one to work in 96 with Bret on a long hiatus, Hall and Nash went to wcw, and in fans eyes the only viable contenders were taker and mankind who were engaged in their epic feud so hbk had no one to work with that could actually work (austin, owen hart, bulldog, hhh and vader were just mid-carders in the fans eyes) so the ratings plummeted. When he came back from injury in 97 his heel turn started the era and the fans tuned in

  • @TheWill1225 I have to disagree about Vader being a mid-carder in the fans' eyes because he held the WCW Championship during his run there. As you may recall,he got a good monster buildup as well as legitimate heat when he sneak attacked Gorilla Monsoon.

  • @diablo313 again as the nwo angle got stale and the ratings for wwf and wcw started to shift in favor of the wwf and by April of 98 the ratings were back in wwf's favor (according to the best of Raw dvd) IMO hbk did alot of the work to get the ratings close and coincidently just as he retired the ratings jumped in wwf's favor but people started tuning in to see dx's antics and continued to watch the mcmahon austin feud and this is coming from a stone cold steve austin fan

  • @TheWill1225 Good points. But again, in the mid-90s HBK had the torch and the company he was representing was struggling badly. And regardless if there were wrestlers who were considered mid carders at the time or not, good writing and maybe a HBK who was willing to take bump or two from one of these guys could of pushed a good rival for him a lot sooner than later.

  • @diablo313 i disagree with u cuz i have 3 words for u The Great Khali cuz no matter wat u do he still sux. Also shawn took some insane spots from guys like mankind and undertaker but all im saying is in 96 what would those fans want to watch hbk vs vader in wwf or ric flair vs sting wcw. even though i was never a fan of wcw id rather see two great wrestlers albeit from wcw over the legendary hbk vs a fat guy with no mobility or wrestling skills whatsoever. sorry vader fans its true he sucked

  • @TheWill1225 The Great Khali also never had wrestler like HBK to put him over (unless he wrestled him recently, I don't know I haven't watched wrestling in some time now)

But like you mentioned earlier Big Vader was not the only wrestler at mid carder status on the up and coming. Stone Cold could of benefited from an early push since at the time he was drawing some major heat and HBK made for a nice Face or Heel.

  • @fmthebaron no motherfucker bret was shawn barely even fought in 1997 becus he lost his bullshit fake smile

  • @fmthebaron That's true,considering Shawn Michaels barely wrestled at all in 1997.

  • God, Shawn was brilliant at this point!

  • that is/was true the kliq did own the industry, wcw was ran by hall and nash and wwe was ran by HHH and HBK

  • undertakers the best of all time

  • @SpikeChaosBleeds boring? aha this was entertaining, he had the crowd backing him even though he was the heel as they say at the time. Good ending too,Bret saying he's going to whip his scrawny ass.

  • Is it all shoot??
