  • How much

  • 3:18 - 3:23 = This is the sound of every Dream Theater fan wants...

  • Really nice workstation. I use mainly for creating Cont. Electronic Music. If you wanna check how does KORG M50 sound in old-school electronic music, just type in "Soundwalker - Follow the wind". 99% sounds come from KORG 50. Greets!

  • Is this keyboard good for techno kind of music

  • @reymysteriojunior619 why cant you get a good manuel for the M50

  • @reymysteriojunior619 yes it is trance techno

  • is this a keyboard or a synthesizer?

  • @funfruity you seriously can't tell the difference?

  • @funfruity yes

  • my m50 started 'freezing' !!! out of warranty and i've been reading online that it is a problem with bout half this keyboards! WTF KORG?!~/!?

  • is it possible to use it as a midi controler via USB/MIDI thing ?

  • What does the joy stick do?

  • Selling one on ebay at a really low price. Check out ebay.co.uk if you're interested.

  • Hi everyone, I just wanna ask because I'm new to this keyboard, does it have a built in speaker? Or you must have a separate amplifier speaker/ headphone to hear the sound. As I've seen on the other pictures of this m50 it doesn't have a speaker or maybe it is hidden somewhere ^_^ haha, just wanna ask cause I'm planning to buy this one and I don't have a separate amplifier for this.

  • Comment removed

  • @03snm You need an amp. But yeah, it's a pretty awesome keyboard! :]

  • @03snm yes you'll need an amp. i'd reccomend the roland keyboard amps.

  • Well, the controls and interface are certainly stunning, but model after model i've never found korg's sounds so "incredibly realistic" as they claim. To my taste, Roland's still doing better with acoustic sounds.

  • the best keyboard ..

  • Okay, I have a problem, every time I use pro tools to import my tracks from the sequencer into pro tools, there's a starting time glitch right in the first beat of the recording in each track. it only happens right there at the beginning and I've updated all the latest firmware updates from the site. And the glitch is never there during playback on the actual m 50 but yet appears to occur during track by track importing into pro tools even though the midi/slave control is working

  • what is the name of the sound at 2:50?

  • This or the Yamaha Psr910?

  • What song is that at 0:58?

  • Comment removed

  • this is so saddening! every good thing on this jacked up planet, cost´s A LOT of money!

  • Korg m50 or Roland xp30????

  • M50 or Yamaha Motif XS? mhhmhmhmm

  • @jesuislepluscool m50 its great but piano on the 61 is not the best sounding still good though

  • @jesuislepluscool

The M50 is a nice board but IMO, it doesn't compare to the Motif XS. If you are a Korg fan then you might want to step up to the M3. I still like the Motif better though. I own a Motif XS and I am still blown away by it. The sounds are unreal! It is a solid machine.

  • I am planning to buy this keyboard in a week or as soon as possible.... :)

  • Can you make your own drum tracks on the M50? Looking to bye a work station.

  • @mikeyzxr Yep

  • I dont know if I should get this or Yamaha DGX630

  • if you want to hear some new m50 sounds , go to my channel , i have 15 videos !

  • GREAT MUSIC VIDEO'S AVALIABLE FROM MY CHANNEL

    I USE THE KORG M50 .. I LOVE IT

    ENJOY

  • Super,

  • Okay, decision is made!!! Time to put this phantom x-6 on the sideline for a few minutes of rest.

  • m50? x50? or triton?

    what do you say?

  • @shikicarlo triton obviously

  • Продам KORG M-50(61,73,88) M3 Lp-350 SV-1. Все новое-Все с официальной гарантией! Звоните..............................................8(926)382-64-21

  • As if pro film composers are going to use it for "that movie you're scoring"

  • @weaponEX A pro will use whatever (s)he likes.

  • @schragemusik indeed.

  • @schragemusik A "Pro" would know that too. lol

  • how good are the drum and guitar sounds on this machine? I'm looking for a workstation that produces the most realistic nu metal sound possible for my next album 'cause my current machines (a CASIO WK3590 and PSRS550b) got to go.

  • @MrConraal the drum sounds on this machine are stellar..you wont easily do better unless a) you invest in numerous high end drum machines and b) invest in an akie mp2400 which is over twice as much as the m50 in the first place...so yeah, drums are phenomenal and completely tweekable. Guitar sounds for a synth are exceptional..best ul do without investing in the yamaha motif for twice as much

  • i like the combi feature on this keyboard and how it lets switch between sounds back and forth which is really good for playing live. any other keyboards from korg with a similar feature?

  • Wow! Wow! This is the best music machine ever!

  • One more thing before I consider buying this keyboard. Do any current m50 users miss the aftertouch function on this keyboard? far as know lots of the main flagships from 01/w to triton and even the x3 had aftertouch. The m50 apparently doesn't.

  • @k3iverson it does not have aftertouch

  • @daveworx but in my opinion it´s not needed.

  • yes i got one m50 its touch pad got complaint

  • @Lovemeps well i have had my m50 for two weeks and at the moment i fhink its shit

    wish i got a roland

got a sd card dont work

  • @k3iverson I had the same question, and the lack of this feature makes this synth useless for me...

  • LOL, @ 1:32 you can hear the "pupop" alert of a skype message! NOOO! In the "offical" introduction the speaker's voice is recorded with SKYPE in background!? MUAHAHAHAH Anyway great keyboard!

  • hey... does korg m50 have a microphone connectivity(vocal harmony ? pls can ne 1 tell me?

  • @kreg001 no , it doesn't

  • Am I seeing two versions of M50 here presented? One with weighted keys and other with light weight keys? If you at they keys they are different. Normal light weight keys 2:28 and weighted keys @ 3.23. They have different keys so I suppose there 2 versions. Looks and sounds great though.

  • how much does it cost?

  • @Imabigasshole About 1200

  • No aftertouch, the only specs about keyboard on their web page is:

61-key, 73-key versions use a new semi-weighted Natural Touch keyboard

  • how do you find the choir sound ?

  • @Krissified

The Choir Sounds are better than on Yamaha Motif XS.

I was really dissapointed by the Choir of the Motif. :-(

    I own a Motif XS-7, so i can say.

I`m thinking about to buy a m50. For it`s price it`s more than okay.

  • Does it have transpose option ????

  • You know what, Korg? Can you guys just not make ONE decent, old school, analog polysynth? Everyone wants it and you know it. I don't need "realistic pianos" or a "drum machine" or "chord memory". Make me an outer space machine. Can you imagine? If Dave Smith can do it, why not the company that was one of the originators! Every year NAMM makes me fall asleep from boredom from almost ALL these companies...

  • @Syntox It seems lika the synth industry is much about putting a lot och functions into the synth that one really not need.

  • Вот тут я купил себе Korg очень дешево на gibsons.ru

Там же скачал все инструкции на русском и всякие программы

    Супер

  • PORFAVOR ALGUIEN SUBA UN VIDEO SOBRE COMO EDITAR A PROGRAMAR SONIDOS EN EL KORG TR

  • hey, is it possible to record .WAV on the m50 memory? I need to play live with a couple of overdubbs

  • this don't look too bad for the price.

  • Great keyboard. I suggest it for everyone who wants a cheapish keyboard. I can't rate the live performance this keyboard gives but it definetly is great in the studio. The sound programming on this keyboard is really deep once you learn to use it, so there are thousands upon thousands of different sounds you can make with it.

  • Is sampling important?

  • Does the M50 have a AC power adapter or do i need to get a keyboard amp?

  • I went to the shop to buy a 73 version of the M50. As soon as i touched the keys i decided not to. Creepy toy-like-keyboard keys. Not the keys for a workstation or a main keyboard. Its not understandable why korg made it that way. There is no possible comparison with the keys from TR61. And that will be my choice.

  • sweet

  • STFU this guy is so fucking annoying and talks SHIT

  • Most newer synths sound no better than a target casio. Did they forget how they made the earlier ones. What if I became worse, worse at guitar, from knowing say 200 scales to knowing just 1. It'd be insane.

  • Im 13 years old and im buying it lol !!

  • @griggsm221 I'm 13 too, your so lucky. I only have a Korg M3...:-)

  • @BrandonProductions1

Lol, M3 is way better than M50 dude

  • @KaersonTV you're really smart! the m3 is better-no shit-it costs more

  • @cdog46

Of course it costs more, what did you expect smart guy?

  • i was playing the 88 key weighted hammer one at my cousins. you can play this thing for hours

  • how can you put two different voices together on m50?

  • AHA y un guevo.......

  • Ok ppl, maybe i am wrong, but m50 has EDS synthesis sound generator, just like m3,indentical,and m3 has EDS synthesis sound generator just like oasis ... basicaly, that means that you have same sound generator on m50 like on oasis ... well that's wow from me ;) ... correct me if i am wrong

  • muy bueno seee!!!!!!

  • how would this compare compare to the triton extreme or the TR?

  • Not at all. It's a great keyboard, but nothing beats the Triton Extreme. Period.

  • @PaganWarDrummer so out of the korg m5o, triton extreme, or TR which one has the best preset piano sounds?

  • Triton Extreme, in my honest opinion. One of the guys at our school had one. It sounded delicious. If you're looking to buy, I'd suggest giving each a try first.

  • @PaganWarDrummer you seem pretty confident about the triton extreme. its pretty expensive. i dont want to waste 1000 dollars on a keyboard that may not have good pre loaded acoustic piano

  • That's why I said to play it in person before you go spending money on one. That's always the smart thing to do. I play percussion as a primary, and the same principle there applies for all instruments: play it before you buy it, and buy the same one you played.

  • @PaganWarDrummer but they discontinued the triton series.

  • You can still pick them up on eBay or around if you know people.

  • @PaganWarDrummer yea i could try ebay and if not then i will have to get the m50

  • Cool, let me know how it goes. The M50 is still a great workstation, though, so it's not too much of a downer if you can't find a Triton Extreme on eBay.

  • well now its between the korg m50, korg m3, roland fantom X6, or fantom G6

  • Couldn't find one? xD

Oh well, shit happens. If you can afford an M3, go for it. What's your money situation?

  • haha oh no, im doing research for my friend who is playing keyboards in my band and he wanted me to find the best keyboard with the best preset piano sounds and the best lead synths and regular synth sounds.

  • If he can afford it, get a Fantom G series keyboard. Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater uses them, and they're one of the best available. An M3 from Korg is good, too, or an OASYS.

  • i tried the fantom g6 at the samash and it had the best lead snyths i had ever heard

  • If your friends likes that, then I say go for it. Rolands are tanks.

  • @PaganWarDrummer yea i know

  • dont forget the motif. Its almost a grand more than korgs m3 but worth it.

  • is the motif expenisve?

  • about 3500$ brand new for the 88 key version. 2400 for the 66 keys

  • holy damn thats out of my friends league

  • Well check out the motif es series then. Its about the same league' as the korg m50

  • i think my friend is pretty dead set on a korg

  • okay dont get me wrong korg makes great keyboards but I have tried all three major brands (ie roland yamaha and korg) And i find that in general korg seems to be least worth the prics.

Its all a matter of taste though. Good luck to your friend.

  • yea but i dont like yamaha. roland and korg are my favorite

  • like I said, It depends on taste.

  • yea well i dont really care what keyboard my friend gets because i put some of korgs top keyboards on a list and printed it out

  • @MrJackanthony M50 is the same league as the ES? What a bullshit. Motif ES/XS are the same league as the M3, not the same for lowbudget M50.

  • touche. bUt the es is some 400$ more than brand new. So not that much of a difference compared to some other keyboards.

  • Actually, you can get the M50 66 key just about anywhere for $1,099.00. Just look it up.

  • it's a great keyboard but it does not send midi timecode. your sequencer must be able to receive and send midi clock to sync to the m50.

We found that out the hard way.

  • Question. I'm thinking about getting a new keyboard. Should I get a Korg Triton or a Korg M50?

  • oh and when they say you can use it as a vst plugin does that mean it can run with fl studio? Like can you play it and tweak the sounds in fl? thanks :)

  • Hey i was wondering if this keyboard is good for trance and dance kinda music? Ive been looking at the korg x50 for a while but then i saw this one and thought i might look into it. If anyone knows pls reply thanks :)

  • I've played this board for 3 hours in music store,

and must say one: OUTSTANDING sound for THAT price!!!!!

I wonder only why KORG didn't include "read chords" from left hand and creating regular accomp like on keyboards. Adding this in internal software would EXTEND this board to SUPER keyboard. Now it is still only workstation. Seams to me, internal soft doesn't use fully it's possibilities.

  • OK, it's a great keyboard, but also one of the worst looking keyboard!! Ugly, Ugly, Ugly!!

  • wow this sucks cuz now i cant choose which keyboard i want.

  • how can I get the korg M50 Manual??

    thankyou

  • I'm looking for a new workstation synth, in the price range of 1000 €. I'm stuck between the M50 and the Roland Juno-G. I need mostly orchestral, electronic and drum sounds so which one is better in these kind of sounds? Thanks.

  • I was literally just stuck with this problem today. I'm still unsure, but i was looking for something that I could really hook up to the computer, but with more power and plugins. For that sort of thing I went with the Juno. What are you planning on using it for?

  • I think I'd use the sequencer and the other things so not with a computer.

  • Are you planning on playing live with it? If so, yeah the m50 is quite good. I got my hands on one before they were released, it pretty much is a triton extreme minus the tube.

now if you are only doing studio work there is no better sound solution than a decent midi controller and Native Instruments Komplete 5 which will only set you back $500 (not including the midi controller) and the sound library BLOWS away whats on boards now a days. Plus unlike hardware you can keep making new sounds

  • I'm going to play live so then it's the M50. Thanks.

  • how much system power would let's say 20 tracks of Native Inst softsynths use? I am not arguing just asking.

I just don't know what to do. Buying a powermac (to run N.I. Softsynths on) ? For that money I could buy an M50 + a Yamaha XS Rack and maybe a juno g, too.

Or is my dualcore iMac enough for some softsynths to run on it and to work with ?

  • I use a Macbook Pro (newest generation one) with a motu interface and mainstage for like 90% of my sound.

That is basically my dream setup. I use to use a receptor, but i found its lack of support for my favorite apps and me having to hack it all the time quite disappointing. + It is quite the money pit if you want to be honest about it.

Lets be real, are you going to be running 20 different sound banks at the same time, or switching? Either way IMAC+awesome interface = happiness (oh!+Logic)

  • I use a MBpro 2.53 with 4GB with Mainstage and a MOTU ultralite, and i couldn't ask for more. The switching with that program is amazing. + seeing how mainstage is basically Logic for live use, anything you have in logic you can take it live. I could go on and on about mainstage but give it a good look at.

As for 20 sounds. you mean all at once? That would sound a little cluttered, dont you think? I'm sure it would handle it, but I'm shooting from the hip, I use a lot of switching myself.

  • I would argue :-))))))) Of course, any PC-software sequencer PLUS unfinished number of VST instuments (even freeware - lots of) blow away possibilities of in-built hardware of boards....... BUT you didn't write about cost of: good computer, GOOD SOUND CARD (the last is about half-cost of KORG M50) and of course good midi controler. If you gather this all, and if it is of KORG-like quality (professional) you pay much more! :-))))) Best regards, Luke

  • My live setup is actually the blend of a macbook pro/motu interface and the Korg. Even though I've never had the macbook pro fail on me, I am always going to be skeptical of using a pure PC based live setup. I did use to use a receptor, but the lack of support for many of my favorite applications quickly made its way out the door. You do make a good point. It all boils down to what YOU want, not what I want. I love my Triton to death, I use it in addition to the amazing software available today.

  • does this keyboard have good piano sounds and synth sounds?

  • Well it uses the library from the Triton Extreme, and yeah the sounds are quite decent.

I have the extreme myself, and I love it. But its more of a Live sound setup. Because all the sounds are setup to cut through mixes. Now weather or not thats good or bad for what you want, thats your call.

For live use its amazing. No having to EQ sculpt your piano because the lowend rumbles and the high end is weak.

  • @bradtwo You explain so well the difference between live and studio use !! It's so important for people buying an instrument whether it's live or in the studio. I have a Yamaha Motif XS and couldn't believe it didn't sound as good live as my Korg Karma from 8 years ago, but sounded great at home. Now I've almost killed my Karma, I'm thinking about another Korg for live use - the M50 looks like a good bet.

  • Damn Japanese they make amazing stuff.

  • Played one yesterday, really liked it.

  • Yeah, I played it too - three hours in music store. Especially I got crazy on pianos, old analogues synth emulation with real-time editing of phaser, filters etc. SUPER for live solos. A bit pity that you cannot compose your own accomp like on keyboards (with fill-ins, etc. But there is a special method of performing in combi mode, different than in regular keybards... At least it is workstation not keyboard. I buy it for solos on stage (accomp I sequence on other boards). Regards

  • do you get that editor with the m3 to if not im getting an m50

  • @kokeklasick you get a better one. Also you can attatch a second editor.

  • lol

  • Should I get M50 or TR88?

    Thanks for answers!

  • Depends on if you need 88 keys or not. 88 keys has never traveled well. They use basically the same sound set, however the M50 has the whole touch interface which makes navigation a breeze and has a bit more of a library. However the 88 has better feeling keys.

  • una con sulta tiene los mismos sonidos que el TR el n364 graciasssssss

  • the buttons are crap they break easy they same one that were on the korg x5d

  • Assignable Switch, and Assignable Pedal Unit Dimensions - 55.47 (W) x 12.91 (D) x 5.94 (H); Weight - 45.86 lbs

    -a piece of informative things-

  • If you paid $3500 for this, you got ripped off. Musician's Friend = $1099

  • I agree

  • Basically reused the parts from the korg triton, so it seems. which is cool, I own a tirton extreme and i love it.

  • You own an extreme? How does it compare to the m50?

  • Like i said, its the exact same board - the tube. Which in reality isn't quite impressive. Anymore I use the triton as a midi controller.

Korg as a live board is probably the best thing you can invest your money it. Because the sounds are thinner, they cut through mixes like no other. However in the studio, well they leave a lot left to be desired, for the same reason.

Yamaha, are the opposite, because its a thicker sound, it works better in the studio than it does live.

  • do some damn hiphop bitch
