  • I would have cried, sharks are one of my biggest fears.

  • they are not mindless killing machines

in fact their attacks are very well calculate the mindless ones are humans who stand in their natural habitat or hunting grounds and get foolishly attacked by them

  • i would of craped my pants

  • You should wear Yellow or bright Orange swimsuite, and carry a sound weapon which is hard for sharks to bear wen its high pitch sound is being played.

  • beautiful creature

  • sorta intelligance? lol

  • "if it was going to bite anyone it would bite him" lol

  • if i was steve i wouldve tottaly freaked out

but this proves that shark are not 100% harmful

  • It depends on which shark some shark are harmful like the GWS ...

  • lol, sharks are nowhere near 100% harmful.

theyre very misunderstood, and not that dangerous if you dont hassle it.

  • haha very emotional at the end but true say!

  • he is so dramatic... i don't think it is THAT beautiful. However, sharks are not ALWAYS hungry. They are probably more like a dog than anything. They nip at you if you were playing moving too much. You have to make sure your heart rate is good befor being around a big shark like that.

  • somebody knows if Steve Leonard has a blog?

    Could you help me?

    Thanks in advanced

  • Further proof that sharks are NOT reckless, mindless killing machines.

  • Very true! As long as you don't look or smell like their dinner, you're good

  • This brings me to a conclusion... do you think sharks are attracted to perfum?? or are they un-attracted?

  • Unless theses are perfume eating sharks, I can't see why

  • LOL!!!

  • All you have to do is look up peer reviewed articles on animal behaviour, and it is accepted that animals exhibit emotion. Maybe it is your view that you cannot prove that an animal is showing emotion but if that is your opinion, then it follows that I cannot prove that you yourself show emotion. As such, we must rely on behavioural and physiological responses to make a conclusion about this, and the evidence is quite clear.

    and evolutionary biology.

  • don't know why that last bit is there..typo. Have you ever owned a dog? Even any pet owner can obviously conclude that animals show emotion. It's really not that complicated- hurt a dog and they yelp, love them and they will wag their tails.

So what is my basis? years of studying basic biology, animal behaviour, ecology, and evolutionary biology.

  • If you look at 1:00 its quite clearly a Great White, and the reason the shark expert was shocked was because they were there to study Bull Sharks and suddenly a Great White shows up lol.

  • fliping heck im glad i was not out swimming at sea that day lol

  • I just find the way sharks swim is just so beautiful. it's unreal.

  • Cool Video. Thanks for sharing!

  • Sharks are the biggest mass slaughter of large wildlife happening on the planet today. Sharks have been around for 400 million years, and we're looking at basically wiping them out in one human generation.

Dont support this inhumane bullshit by not eating shark meat, using products with shark in them. Great video!

  • true. they have emotion too, they are living beings, mind that dont ever eat shark products, they are creatures, like us

  • I wonder how he knows that sharks have emotions

  • any living thing does. you need emotions to do most things. an of course research out there!

  • As a psychologist I can confidently say taht there is no research to show that animals have emotions; merely a degree of anthropomorphism amongst the public. Perhaps I use emotions in doing a lot of things, but what is your basis for thinking that animals do? they behave extremely differently to how humans do.

  • Do a stress test (saliva?) on a pacing animal;

listen to a mother mammal as you take away its young; watch a dog greet a long lost owner.

How do we know humans have emotions? Little children? Self report is limited...so do non-speaking people have no emotion?

  • Yawn. I don't see any evidence that animals have emotions, nor am I forced into solipsism by demanding more evidence.

  • Nikki, u didn't answer the questions. But you did respond. you weren't yawning.

    But never mind.

You will make a great psychologist.

    ;)

  • Animals would not survive without emotions. If they didn't get scared they'd just stare at predators and get killed.

  • as an animal behaviourist and biologist, I can confidently say that animals DO have emotions. I presume that your own experience with animals is quite limited or you would not make such a statement. While it may be argued that in some animals such as invertebrates, there is not sufficient evidence of emotion, you simply cannot generalize and say that all animals lack emotion.

  • if it was a mindless killin machine ud b dead...

  • well said. every living being/animal has emotional, you need it to survial.

  • first the dude that called this a great white is dumb...and whys he so scared he starts it off saying we got in to film sharks then freaks when he sees one and calls it a mindless killing machine which undoes what scientists are pushing us to think expert my ass haha

  • Course it's unplanned dumbass

  • Mindless killing machine... this guy has no idea what's going on there down. He better makes documentations about hamsters and rabbits :)

  • He doesn't say that. He says: "This ISN'T a mindless killing machine...it's an animal

  • Yes, you are absolutely right, I was understanding him wrong, why this guys have to speak so fast :)

Thanks for letting me know, sorry for my mistake!

  • lol np

  • i agree. these people that are slagging him off need to watch it again. maybe over and over! i understood it the first time.

  • orca is the best

  • "Mindless killing machine." ??? Too funny.

  • "it isnt a mindless killing machine, it is a animal with emotions..." ;)

  • ohhh

  • was a bull shark not a great white

  • They wanted to film bull sharks, however the shark they encountered was a Great White.

  • No, that was a Great White, Bull Sharks are way Smaller!.

  • That is definitely one of the best encounters between a wild great white and humans without a shark cage I've ever seen. These killing machines aren't actually killers, they are meant to hunt their prey, which doesn't necessarily make them man-eaters. Because of this nature, great whites are more docile in nature than short-fin makos, tigers, bulls and oceanic-whitetips.

  • they didn't throw chum in or bait them with beef like most other wildlife shows i've seen, usually the sharks are in a feeding frenzy when the cameras are rolling....
