because the monitor only has vga and dvi

how does dish connect? composite right? the red,white and yellow?

if so then yes your going to need a tv tuner for your pc

because you cannot watch tv without a tv tuner

the difference between a monitor and a tv is a tv has a tv inside it a monitor does not.

i have a dragon platform , 4890 toxic and getting this monitor next week ... but there are 2 versions in my local store ... on with 20000:1 and 50000:1 what will be better or there is not difference cause the 20K one comes with a DVI Cable and i want that but the 50K doesnt

The 50K is better becuase blacks are true black and whites are true white.

When I was in egypt I saw core 2 duos and quads but the prices on those things compared to prices here were expensive!

I would go with 50K and if you can get a dvi for cheap then get it because VGA is crap

In the past they didn't ship the monitor with the neck of the stand already inserted. People were complaining you had to basically push your monitor down onto the completed stand, forcing the neck of the monitor through a rubberized hole. While I've never heard of anyone breaking their monitor this way, it really felt like you could have. That's probably why you've heard its a bitch to install.

the change the whole intallation thing and upgraded the contrast ratio from 20000:1 to 50000:1

Not saying you didn't get a deal, but seriously, who pays $300 for that monitor? It's $220 AR on newegg. In store at best buy with tax it would only be about $250. For $300 you can get the 2333HD or P2370HD with a ATSC tuner in it... or you could get the P2570 24.6".

when I bought my 30" monitor I thought it was huge,now I'm used to it and it doesn't seem so big anymore. I want to replace my NEC 20" with another 30" so I can run dual 30" monitors.

To run a 30" at full res 2560 X 1600 you need a beefy GPU or two! And a powerful PC won't hurt eithier
