  • liked the sweating orange best.

  • wasting money for buy a lot of orange

  • this is the equivalent of watching nightmare on elm street for annoying orange

  • 2380/4 = 595

It takes about 600 oranges to charge an iPhone. At 50 cents an orange, that's about $300.

  • @SharonLougheed Yea but then, you could re-sell your oranges ...

  • Do you own a orange shop or r u really rich to buy that many oranges

  • ..ummmmm wouldn't it be easier to plug it into the wall?

  • I need 1 orange

  • You don't need to slice them.

  • i tried with my balls and it worked :) he eh eheh

  • HEY, HEY orange can you do this ?

  • I tried this and when i unlocked it all it had was fruit ninjas on it

  • DEXTER THEME TITLE!!! OMG!

  • Ya, that's the way to test it, with a voltmeter.

  • This chick is hot, and she can cook. She would be the perfect woman to make me a sandwich

  • i have the weirdest boner right now

  • I'd plug mine into the computer or wall or something...

  • The clockwork orange!

  • all that you need is 12 volts

  • why so many fruit you don't need that many

  • Wow O_o cool!!!

  • do the oranges run out of energy

  • @Jeffreyshnigity No. Researches recently discovered that oranges have unlimited supplies of citric electricity that never runs out. They're already putting forward proposals for orange farm/power plants that will supply unlimited environmentally friendly electricity to homes around the world.

  • its that true ?!!! i can't believed easily !!!!

  • It's all about two different metals reacting with oxygen (that is in the H2O in the liquid of orange) when they are stucked in to the orange. When they start reacting there forms electric between the metals. The higher the differense between the reactivity of the metals is that higher the electric is. For example: copper and iron does 0,45 volts when copper and magnesium does 1,64 volts. That because magnesium is more reactive than iron ;P

  • And knowing is half the battle.

  • first charge your iphone, than drink alot of orange juice..

  • do they taste different without the electricity inside them?

  • @Matt0ldMan they dont have electricity inside them.... the acid is reacting with the nails, producing electrons

  • did you ate all those

  • Yall banging on about starving kids and wasting oranges, dont be fucking stupid. No one starves because you waste food. There is more than enough food for every person on this planet.

    People starve because of politics.

  • And Africa kids are starving...

  • such great editing job, why don't you make more videos

  • AMERICA!! FUCK YEAH!!! COMIN TO CHARGE YOUR MUTHA FUCKIN PHONE YEAH!!!!

  • olllllllllllllllll bidiiiiiiiiiiiiii basssss ne idu

  • and that is how the orange beated the apple :D

  • is it just me or is the sound of the oranges being cut aaamazing

  • how do you recharge the oranges agan lol????????????

  • stop making oranges look so fucking sexy.

  • Comment removed

  • where are the 2000+ orange slices??? All we can see is no more than 200!!!

  • i wonder what camera they use. its amazing.

  • Why not Apple iPhone charged with apples instead?

  • @anadus7 touche but i dont think apples have the acids in them that make the voltage.

  • @anadus7 Because acidic fruits are the best for conducting or generating electricity. If you needed like 2500 oranges try imagine how much apples you would need...

  • waste of money get an adapter

  • How will she do to eat all these oranges?

  • Apple product charged with Oranges!! Funny:-)

  • TAKE THAT HOUSE HOLD HACKER!!!

  • Blasphemy! Everyone knows that the only suitable food for powering electronics is the potato.

  • Awesome movie..This is what today's niche is looking for.

  • I see that the video is made Dexter intro style.

  • ORANGE MURDERER

  • When the iPhone syncs with the oranges, it'll give the iPhone an orangeade drink.

  • :P nice.

  • mmmm nice, ripe, oranges. i could eat those citrus fruits all day!

  • wow!

  • How exactly do the oranges generate electricity?

  • @0wnage55885 Oranges have acids. Acids have ions wich are charged particles so they can generate electricty using their charge.

  • @metalstar28 to lazy to walk to wall plug lol :)

  • annoying orange worst nightmare

  • Why not just use lemons instead???

  • Now going to the supermarkets to buy oranges. Want to power a television xD

  • Can come in handy when in Amazon Forests

  • its FAKE

  • @MrHilaly93 it not. its possible.

  • @MrHilaly93 alright you try it and see if it is fake!

  • 2,380 sclises to charge a god damn ipod...when in some places of earth they have nothing to eat....and anyway why is that even practicall....i mean...who is gonna slice...2.380 pieces of orange...just to charge the ipod....one word....useless and a waist of food money time!

  • 2,380 orange slices!

  • I like it

  • epic

  • Is there any reason why she didn't use the juice of the oranges instead?

  • EPIC !!!

  • I prefer a juice.

  • wow 2380 for 3.7V for how long? 1 hour

example: 10 min TV coast 147945 Orange Fruits :P

  • That's why we don't use fruit for electricity ;)

  • is that really possible?

  • @Auvvine

    why not ?

  • I was waiting for the Puma phone to show up at the end of the video with some witting line like "and only a few hours in the sun to change this phone". (The new Puma phone has a solar panel on the back fiy)

  • Hahahahaha that is great. NOT abuse of fruit but a NICE experiment! We can't stop making fun and interesting things in one resourceful part of the world, just because another part is starving. That does not help them a bit!

  • but are the oranges edible after you use them for power?

  • unreal BUT waste of oranges and Jaffa coming from our local market

  • it is real me and my friend did a science fair with fruit batterys and this can work .

  • Is this a commercial for Jaffa's oranges or I phone ? It dosn't look real to me.

  • Waste of good orange that can be eaten or make juice

  • Awesomeness.

  • so wasted...

  • Fruit abuse.

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Technology Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • that's not true, using copper and magnesium in an orange will produce .7 of a volt , an iphone needs about 5 volts to start charging so only 7 or 8 oranges are needed to accomplish this.

what kinda add is this anyway?

  • You think it will produce enough current?

  • @durchanek current depends on the surface area of the two metals being used, the way they have done it may just take that many oranges.

mind you, it would take quite along time and i don't think it would last long enough to charge the phone anyway looks like fun ;p

  • what a waste of food, millions of people are hungry in the third world and you make this shity video go to hell !!!!!!

mein english is schlecht nochmal auf detusch =)

  • @Andi1550 sure... I prefer to eat a sandwich when I'm hungery rather than an Orange, although I like oranges.

  • I understand your feelings, but telling stuff about starving kids everytime such a video or anything is made is just so hypocratic. I'm sure everybody, you too, could give some charity which you don't actually give. If we even take how much of trivial expenses we have, which aren't at all substantial, which we could easily abandon for starvers if we weren't so selfish...That's lots of food.

  • @kalacs: andi1550 comment has nothing to do with badly spent money and charity, what he said is valid even if you had all those oranges as a gift. it's about the value of food and the respect people should have for it, it's about using brains before doing something so useless and dumb. also you talk about money that could potentially be spent for food, here instead the food has already been bought and wasted.

  • Umm, you don't quite understand what I meant. I understood his comment, I understand his feelings, I just said it's hypocratic to come here insulting while he/anybody could actually do a lot for the cause he protested for. The fact I used money, and not direct material as an example is trivial.

  • Maybe she ate the oranges afterward...

  • What a waste of energy, millions of people are without power in the third world and you spend time making shitty comments on a YouTube video!

  • yes a few fractions of pico Ampere of current against 2 thousand orange slices trashed..

  • Wow.. Kool.

    AND A WASTE OF ORANGES!!

    D:<

  • nicely produced video

  • 0:09 I think she is a chef

  • wow!

  • i'm sure they did orange juice :)

  • Nice camera works! I like that tones of the screen and the sound is also the best among I've seen in youtube!

  • lamo

  • how many annoying orange does it take to charge a phone?

  • Wow.. nice camera work.. but charges all the way?

  • So it doesnt work with a normal power sockets! Ok I dont want it if I have to carry around all those oranges.

  • its 595 oranges

    2380 slices each slice was 1/4 of the fruit 2380 / 4 = 595

  • people can't find a crack of bread and we like to experiment things "thousands of oranges" although the socket is next to us.

  • and some people have nothing to eat... :(

  • @Palmheroes whine

  • @Palmheroes it's true... that was so wasteful!

  • @lolsupkristie not really, its still edible

  • @Palmheroes and others don't even have iPhones...

  • @Palmheroes you want them to eat oranges?

  • @tjampe I laughed.

  • stupid bitch just go plug it in at the library they won't notice

  • wtf is that

  • Think of all the starving monkeys that could have fed.

  • hipocrat :))

  • fake thats all i can say

  • Nope seems legit.

  • Oranges are so nasty.

  • Extremely inefficient. That's probably more than $600 in oranges. It would have been cheaper to buy a couple new phones with new batteries. Idiots.

  • Over $1 pr orange? Where on earth are you buying your oranges?

  • Palestine

  • You realize this a promo? When did Youtube viewers get some idiotic?

  • well now i know...

  • 2,380 orange slices to charge an iPhone :))

  • Nice concept and storytelling! Great photography and editing as well.

  • It takes approximately 2,380 orange slices and 1 laptop with cable to charge an iPhone

  • lolwin

  • @cccepera ahahahahahaaha true that

  • whats the point?

  • Comment removed

  • This should be made with apple juice not oranges ^^

  • And from that we learned?

    Absolutely nothing. :)

  • @rasui80

we don´t have to learn anything from it...

    it´s fun :D

  • we learned how many oranges slices it takes to charge an iPhone

  • Funny how people connect small entertaining stuff to global problems. And how apple haters take any opportunity to diss apple. How ignorant are you?

  • Mad skillz!

  • Stellar video production. Horrible audio production.

  • MacGyver!!!

  • And what have we got out of this? That Apple fanboys are fucking sick!

  • nice directing

  • People die in Africa, YOU WASTE FOOD!!!

  • @LordRaGraduation I hate when people say that!!! There is no connection between his wasting of oranges and the starvation in Africa. With your logics, if he ate the oranges less people would starve in Africa. And that's not how it is. If he ate them or charged an iPhone with them the starving people in Africa would still starve.

  • the matrix ......mooooooaaaaaaaa

    LOL!

  • sick!

  • Depends on the Orange... if it was grown in Mars...

  • waste food !!!

  • how wasteful

  • Oh well it was only going to go into someone's body then be pissed/shat out. Same wastefulness

  • Negative. The oranges, when consumed, couldve been converted into useful energy by the metabolic system thus rendering it not wasteful. Charging an iphone to run, what i will assume another hour, to run some stupid app at the expense of 595 oranges is wasteful.

  • you are gay

  • Dexter's breakfast

  • @adrien7742 dark passenger FTW

  • i need alot oranges for my iphone

    bad idea

  • Hey Orange! Knife!

  • How long would the oranges last - can you keep powering the phone until the oranges rot or does the battery get used up before that? Do they need the juice or just the flesh of the oranges for the power?

  • all the thing is the acid so highly concentrated orange juice should too produce enough electricity to charge an iphone

  • why did they make small coil between each orange ?

  • @hitachi088

For even distribution of electrons between the oranges completing the circuit. The oranges are not powering the phone, the acid from the juice contained in the oranges is acting as a conductive liquid between two metals making a battery.

  • i am not asking how it work ,

i am asking why they are small spring (coil) between each orange ...

She made big coil ( like a spring with wire ) between each orange , on the wire ...

  • @hitachi088

I was trying to explain it's acting like an electricity circuit board and it takes two metals for the juice to work. sometimes it is necessary to explain how it work in order to understand why it is done. Maybe I have misunderstood your question.

  • no problem ,

Thank you for your explanation ...

i was talking about 0:48 , did you see the spring made with wire , en@wikipedia@org/wiki/Coil

i was asking why did she make coil ,

Because orange output very low voltage , and the wire she use are pretty big ...

  • @hitachi088

I haven't an iota lol but well spotted!

  • some1 call mythbusters and let them test this out
