I never would have thought that I would have the opportunity to see Marlene Dietrich in concert, I just did and not only was it one of the greatest shows i have ever seen but it made me so happy! Thank you for you time and effort to share some pure joy.
wow thousand thanks because you this rare recording (and then also still completely) divide. Unfortunately there are not many show recordings with Marlene!
@bobinobaker bobinobaker, according to Marlene's diaries at the MDCB this was done in 1968. Marlene didn't sing "Boomerang Baby" and "White Grass" during her 1965 Australian tour (she only met the Charles Marawood on that tour).
In the late 80's ( I think) they ran a very similar concert on Bravo. I knew all the movies but it was my introduction to the concert Marlene. I think I watched it every time they aired it and always wished I had a copy. I feel like my dream has come true. Thanks for a wonderful Christmas present. Robert
this is amazing. the first time Ive seen her make her way through a whole show. you are an angel for sharing this with us!
it really leaves me with two things. 1 the power of music. nothing changes (besides a tightening of the light) except for the song, but the whole world changes with it. no huge effects or spectacle, or even a set
and 2 the power of what the war did to her. having to become the goodwill ambassador for Germany to the whole world, alone. ive known it but this time i felt it
Let's see, she was what, 66 or 67 here? She looked AMAZING! Great video, I've always wanted to see an entire Dietrich concert somehow, and that wish is now fulfilled! Thank you!

@RedRobJr Thanks for your comment! You may be thinking of Marlene's 1972 TV special (in colour)? Some clips from that show is on youtube.
