I remember this. I wish they were both still with us. You can see SRV go from performer to fan during Jeffs solo. I love this performance they both had it in a huge way.
I remember seeing Jeff opening for ZZ TOP in 1990. I was seated on the backstage side so I could see Billy Gibbons watching Jeff's performance. Even ole Willy G was shaking his head watching Jeff.
SRV and Jeff where amazing in their own right. The way jeff saw right through stevies own song and made it 50x more epic! The look on stevies face is priceless! I really hoped someone pointed out that to jeff! :D Two fantastic musicans that will never be forgotton :( R.I.P
The producer posted another copy of this, and gave a little backstory, that SRV was slated for 2 songs, and this was Jeff's first TV gig, just a 1-song slot.......Stevie heard Jeff playing at the rehersals, was blown away, and volunteered to do this duet with Jeff.....it was the closing gig of the concert.
WHEN THAT BLIND MAN HOPPED OUTTA THAT CHAIR...AND MADE THAT GUITAR START TALKIN'...THAT WHOLE PLACE WENT APE-SHIT!!...I CAN WATCH THAT A THOUSAND TIMES.....IF I HAVENT ALREADY....SPECTACULAR!!!
style doesn't matter....when you see greatness pushed greatness comes out....I can see it on SRV's face during Jeff's solo...the "holy sh!t thought....and then srv comes back with greatness on his solo...greatness pushes greatness....
Having the very wonderful luck to see Stevie at he Austin in Dec of 86 winning my tics on KLBJ the day before the concert, It was the first concert he did after returning from rehab and let me tell you I was so frickn close I could have touched his guitar.. What preformance what a night , only 2000 had tickets and he played for soo long and we got blown away.. !! RIP Stevie !! God only knows what you would be playing now, maybe thats why he took you..
Two of the best and most underrated guitarists on the same stage! I almost cried when Jeff jumped up and started shredding .Loved how humble Stevie was at the end giving a shout out to Jeff ....RIP to both these guys may u2 be jamming in heaving right now.
Jeff really does give Stevie Ray a run for his money. I've seen tons of live performances of SRV, whether performing with his own band or with guests, but I don't think anyone's ever been able to keep up with Stevie the way Jeff does in this video. And the coolest thing is it's not a competition of any kind, it's just 2 guys doing what they do best, and playing on a level that most people will never reach. Thanks Stevie Ray and Jeff , now I need to pick my jaw up off the floor!
I've had the priviledge of seeing Jeff many times up here in Canada, and actually had the honour of meeting the man himself.... truly a humble dude...being a guitarist myself, I asked him what inspires him...
@billyboycott Wow, very touching! I wish I had the privilege of seeing him live. As a fellow guitarist, he's a huge inspiration to me. He really defines what it means to be a musician. He doesn't just play, but he also feels every single note he plays, and plays them as if his life depends on it. The guitar was truly and extension of the man's soul. RIP Jeff. He's now throwing it down just like this in heaven with SRV and Hendrix (man, how I'd love to see that!!)
The Devils music my ass. This is God's music. Amazing!

If the Stevie Ray & Jeff Healey version of Little Sister doesn’t bring tears to your eyes then there is something wrong with you.
IT IS A RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE. THIS is how it must feel to be caught up in The Rapture
