  • Jeez this is an awful review. It mostly consists of the commentators talking about how stupid they think anyone who doesn't like this movie is. They make it seem like either you like this movie or you're an idiot who thinks classic films are perfect and hate everything new.

Saying "you shouldn't scrutinize a film" is ridiculous. People are trying to explain why they didn't like it. They didn't go in with a pad trying to scribble down problems. They went in and didn't like it and said why.

  • This movie sucked for many reasons, but the one that stands out is "shia fucking laboeuf swinging through the trees like a monkey..." nuff' said

  • Yeah its Film Brain in his young years haha

  • All the George Lucas fault doing mind control on the Steven Speilberg´s head!

  • The reason i didnt like this film was because of the story and charcters.

And temple of doom is awsome!!

  • You fucking wankers. stop defending this piece of shit. Mud Williams and fucking inter dimensional beings fuck off. It could have been soo much more and that is what peoples is angry about GET IT

And we dont hate effects. WE HATE CGI EFFECTS dumbass

  • The problem is: If every little thing like crashing a gate with a car is done by CGI it`s becoming ridiculous.

  • One-thing that is weird this called Bad Movie Gang Reviews but the movie that you are review Indiana Jones 4 didn't called a Bad-Movie in any-way but do agreed with your thoughts on how Indian Jones 4 is not a bad-movie.

  • I love the nuke the fridge part.Fuck knows its the weakest of the Indy films but why does everyone think the robot aliens are too far fetched for Indy? They have had the Ark of the fucking covenant and the Holy Grail in past movies, aliens have a far more likeyhood of being real at the end of the day than any of that religious shit.

  • Uh dude..You can live up untill a little before bloodloss without your heart...Long enough to see it for a few seconds. But thanks, I might go see this now

  • I really hope to see more reviews like this. But also maybe about movies that everyone liked that really weren't that great. I could name a few but I won't cuz nobody will agree with me haha

  • I totally agree with your review. By the way Shia was good in disturbia that was a good movie.

  • you work for the studio who are you kidding. do you really think u can trick people into eating a piece of shit.

  • Thank you, at last some people who make sense. I am a Star wars , indy fan and after all the lonely pathetic virgin nerds picked apart these movies it make me really dislike Starwars, Indy fans in general. They made me dislike even talking about the movies and detracted from my enjoyment of them. Lets face it, most of them went to see craptacular movies like Transformers. In conclusion i say consider the sources George Lucas and Steven Speilberg and sleep easy, you have nothing to apologize for.

  • Shy LaBitch was in this? Holy shit, the movie was so good I didn't notice!

  • 2:00 MOUSTACHE.

  • This was a really bad review. No depth at all.

  • i give it a 8/10 could give it 9 but i wanted to see more aliens

  • Hey Matt, I'm a huge fan!!

  • Have to be honest here. I found the movie slow-moving and mechanical. It's not really a bad movie, just a movie without any real spark. It goes through the motions and puts the pieces in place but its a bit dispiritng and empty.

  • Hallelujah

I completely agree with everything you said, people hated this movie before they saw it, i actually expected to hate it, but it won me over, its not as good as raider or crusade buts its a country mile better than temple of doom. Indy has never been realstic and aliens seemed like the next logical place to go

  • Excellent review! I completely agree. Anyone who thinks this movie is a departure from the previous Indiana Jones films either doesn't know what they're talking about or is in complete denial. The Indiana Jones movies are not supposed to be realistic. They never were. And that's a good thing too. People nowadays have a tendency to overpraise allegedly realistic movies like "The Dark Knight" when they contain flaws of their own. I enjoyed "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." My score: 8/10.

  • OK, forget CGI (I liked it, btw), unrealistic scenes and small plotholes. The problem with this movie is that it was never really exciting or adventurous. It relied way too much on humor, so the dangers never felt dangerous. It also relied too much on the prev movies, nonsubstantial "fanservice". I liked some isolated scenes, but the big picture failed, IMO. The visual aspects were close to perfection, though. Anyway, make a review that gets to the core instead of countering mindless bashers.

  • Indiana jones was a classic and the modern prequal would never live up to it purely due to the innocence of the older films

  • I thought this was a very logical review, 5/5.

  • You do realise that they have a DIFFERENT OPINION from what you think.

  • Yes, because the opinion of people represents an entire continent. I also wasn't aware the movies had a sexual preference, but I'll be sure to make a note of that.

  • @magicman205 Shut yo face troll!!!

  • @magicman205 Ironic how most of the cast and crew where american and it had a love story between a man and a woman. And I'm british and I didn't like it either and alot of my friends didn't like it.

  • Do the makers of this video not know the difference between practical effects and computer generated effects? They keep saying CGI is great because they used visual effects in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  • Erm, yeah, we do. CGI wasn't in Raiders of the lost Ark, but it's there by the bucketload in Indy 4. We're saying that Visual Effects was used to massive effect in Raiders, and the use of effects hasn't changed, it's just done using different methods. With Raiders, they used all the effects that were availible at the time. Why can't they do the same thing today?

  • I wonder if you've seen The Fountain. 0% CGI, amazing visual effects. The existence of CGI doesn't make real models and non-digital effects obsolete. Indy 4's CGI didn't annoy me much, but CGI is definitely overused in movies (because it's the path of least resistance).

  • @BadMovieGang The point is, CGI is the easy way out, and it hasn't completely progressed as a technology to the point that it doesn't look like CGI. Every time I see it, I'm acutely aware I'm looking at special effects. Yes I'm 2 years late to the party. In conclusion, I disagree with your review, this movie was terrible.

  • @BadMovieGang dear matthew ur awesome ! and i luv ur bad movie beatdown symbolism!!!omgwtfgenious !!!!!! oh and magicman205 go fuck urself !!!!!!

  • This is a decent review, it makes sense. But I mean god, a ufo?

  • The complaint about CGI is that for these actions scenes to be engaging, they have to look more or less live-action, otherwise it's just The Mummy. Think about how truly awesome the vine swinging scene could have been if it was live action. Also there's a difference between magic, and a nuked fridge. At least magic is *an* explanation. You can't start with looney tunes physics, and then continue with normal fist fights. It damages the movie. It's not about nitpicking.

  • Gentlemen.....if you think that Indy 4 had to resort to ufo/aliens flying saucers thing b/c of it's 50s setting, then you're seriously out of context to what this series is about. Granted, there are fans who wanted to multilate the movie before it came out b/c they're crazy, but you've missed the fact of why true fans were disappointed about this film, and like I said before. It's a matter of context and proportions, not just perspective.

  • yeah... "context". Aliens do exist in archaeological theories about crystal skulls.

I'm not saying aliens exist, but they could in the context of the Indiana Jones movies.

  • Not those kind of 'aliens' in Indiana Jones.

No sirree. Not those bug-eyed creatures. Not those tin-plated saucers. Not in the 'context' of Indy's world, but in the context of the Star Wars universe.

  • Chances are, if there was an Indian Jones movie two years after The Last Crusade, it probably would have involved crystal skulls, flying saucers, and, yes, aliens.

  • If there was an Indy movie 2 years after the 3rd, it would've probably involved a dastardly criminal mastermind, international secret milita, mercenaries, murderous cults, and the lost city of R'lyeh.

Aliens could work, but they have to feel pulp-ese, not B-Movie like.

  • No, I'd have to disagree with your there. I didn't just pull that out of my ass. Lucas has had an interest and fascination with crystal skulls for years now; attending conferences and conventions on the subject. In fact, (as I mentioned above) this story idea was originally to appear in "YIJCh" as a much larger story arc. This story idea's been bubbling around for years, and most likely would have been the next Indiana Jones movie no matter when it was made, save the death of Lucas.

  • No, I didn't say or thought you were craping. I'm fully aware of Lucas' interest with the skulls, but could he? Would he had strictly added it on to the 4th instalment during that time? Well...that's just the thing isn't it? I just don't buy that scenario. He's a writer and a creator, and most writers like him have writer's block and change their minds a lot. They most likely put them aside and work on other ideas of interest. That scenario I've found plausible.

  • be that as it my, the scenario I put forth is much more plausible bcz it has a backbone. either way, Lucas has been wanting to do this since at least 1992. Funny thing is, whether the skull was there or not, the aliens have always been.

This script wasn't about making something finely crafted, it was about making everyone on the project (mainly Lucas) happy. So, pushing out a turd twenty some years ago, would have been no problem.

  • I understand that dude that's for sure. I'm not denying the alien vibe for a series like Indy.I'm just saying that those generic little green men in that flick just doesn't fit.Who knows? if that skull script were made about aliens 20 yrs. back, it would've been an alien god like C'thulhu. That I would buy. But since that it was about making Lucas pleased over craft, well that's him, but it doesn't mean that I'm comfortable w/ it.Doesn't mean I'm gonna boycott him either.

  • great first great movie guys

  • nice review..

I think the sci-fi elements to the film were there bcz there have always been paranormal claims that led to the belief that the skull was a star-gate, of some sort. (and I'm not talking about that lame show) Also George Lucas has always had an interest in the skulls. Actually this story idea was originally to appear in "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles".

  • The Shawshank Redemption was CRAP!

  • Uh-huh, right, I'd be interested to see what you LIKE.

  • give me a break! even in your video you suggested it was over rated.

People are always so enchanted by it that they don't even realize that's there's absolutely nothing special about movie, other than making the typical, brainless, moviegoer feel good, like they just saw the most delivering movie of there life.

    P.S.

I'm glad some people are sticking up for "Indiana Jones 4".

  • My apologies, I thought you were trolling.

I respect your views about Shawshank, however I disagree, I personally love Shawshank, and didn't mean to imply it was over-rated, I merely meant to admit that it wasn't perfect.

I meant the same with my Godfather and Raiders comments, they're 2 of my favourite films, however they are frequently used as ammunition to bash other perfectly good films like Godfather Part 3 and (obviously) Indiana Jones 4, to the extent of their own flaws being ignored.

  • yeah.. I get worked up over Shawshank sometimes LOL.

Funny, I've seen Godfather's I & II dozens of times but never once seen III. I even own the DVDs. I consider II one of the best American films of all time... maybe I just don't want to be let down.. I'll watch it some day though.

When are you guys going to do more reviews?.. I think the problem these days it that movie reviews on youtube are getting entirely too long, save the nerd.

  • hopefully you will get some better recording equipment.

  • Next time, not so close to the mike, blokes!

    :D

  • Yeah, we did have some mic trouble. It should be mentioned however that some of the issues are born out doing the recording via Skype, and that's why there's a bit of a synthetic sound to the recording.

  • GEEKS stop bashing INdy 4 the Mokeys were cute and the Alien ws the best most exciting plotline so far!!!! stop taking it so seriously!!!

  • totally agree with most points you've say'd

However changing the lead character to Shia la bou would be a bad move personally.

  • Actually, the Mythbusters tested falling out of a plane with a life raft, and Buster survived. The only problem is, in Temple of Doom, there were two adults and one kid in the raft, and in Mythbusters, there was only a man sized dummy. SO I guess you might be able to fall out of a plane with a inflated life raft and survive.
