Well, back in the early 1960's when I was a pre-teen my family didn't have the money to buy non essentials. I got my spending money by cashing in soft drink bottles for 2 cents each that I'd find along side the road. It took a lot of cashed in bottles to buy a single 45rpm record at 39¢ for the HIT Record Company versions. The ORIGINAL versions by the original artists were twice that amount or more to buy. A lot of people were poor back then just like today.
What the heck was going on in those years, that folks had to choose between 'real' artists and what this company was putting out?
