@AntonioSantiago - let's just call it artistic licence. I like the FSX scenery for this area and I like to fly the big aircraft, especially as the A380 is relatively new! To be quite honest I don't really care if it's not entirely realistic. I thought it looked good, so I uploaded it to YouTube.
I work as a taxi driver at the airport and the other day i saw a Northwest 747...i think that plane had a special mission with important people or something cause they landed the plane all by itself with the stairs.....and a few months ago i saw a cargo plane ..it was a 747 but i forgot wich airline was
In real life that plane dosent fit in that airport, theres a tree line on the other side of runway 8, the wingspan will just rip the tree's off, and runway 10 same thing....
the 747 is not a usual plane in Puerto Rico, but they land there, last 747 that landed there was a Polar Air Cargo that was 3 months ago, but they land there
im a Airplane Spotter, im always in the airport's taking pictures of planes, just so u know, the big planes usually land in san juan in the evening, Ibearia flies to PR in the A340-300 they usually land at 5pm
That's true, 747's can land in Puerto Rico and they do, though it's not common. I've seen many videos of 747's landing in San Juan (real life videos) but I've only seen one flying over me once and it was at night (it was flying the approach over Toa Baja).
Iberia lands with the Airbus A340, last flight with Iberia on the 747 was years ago and DHL lands in SJU sometimes with the Douglas DC-8-63F......... both four engien aircraft
Since I posted this particular video, I have installed the ActiveSky weather software which makes a big difference to the realism of the sim. Just wish they would make the ground darker when there is cloud cover. The more cloud cover, the darker the ground (as in reality).
landed wayy too late and came in slightly high. Also you were on the side of the runway. Maybe you should try and land on the center line an at the beginiting of the runway then work on softness. Well, just a tip. Anyway, pretty good landing.4/5
Nah, Isn't such thing as autoland. But if you get the correct runway heading, and runway altitude, set your autopilot to a slow decent to that altitude, and it'l land :) Dont forget to ajust the flaps/gear/speed yourself!
Sorry DrLove94 !! I downloaded the plane from flightsim dot com. It's about 35Mb and has been modelled by Robert Verslyus and Peter Tredre. Uses the default B747-400 cockpit though.
I didn't download it -- I created it using the playback facility that's available on FSX. I just placed my digital camera in front of the monitor and took a 6 minute movie of the playback. The problem with the playback is that the simulator takes out the other aircraft that are flying/taxying around. But you still get the vehicle traffic moving along the roads and the boats sailing around in the water.
Taxiing on grass not a good thing!

You had a very nice descent rate but try to land the aircraft on the middle line you were too far right.

I doubt it, I usually land at that airport (As a passenger) about 6 times a year and I don't remember ever seeing a 747 land there...

Hi Bivolu3 - if you look at my earlier post replying to DrLove94's same question, you'll see my answer there.
Cheers,

Hey I'm from PR and probably they will start getting jumbo jets in SJU
BeachBoy1100 4 years ago
South African Airways can't afford to buy the A380. They only afford to buy the B747
willster808 4 years ago
Nice vdeo but maybe you should fly anothre aircraft because in puerto rico they nver allow the airbus a380.
18227 4 years ago
why puerto rico woudn't nver allow the airbus a380.
JmoulFrancis 4 years ago
Well, look at the size of the runway for one, and look at the size of the taxiways!
Slightly small ;P
AndyJumpx 4 years ago
You know what's funny? SJU will never receive A380 service, and will never receive SAA service, let alone both.
It's a very nice video though. I wish my FSX ran as smoothly as yours.

Great landing... Looks almost as if the autopilot landing was turned on ;P

does auto land actually land the plane? how do u activate it?

ohhh. ok. thx. wht is approach hold?
astoria1019 4 years ago
Couldn't answer that 100% :P Approach hold may do what I said above?
Never actually used it so.. Or it may be the type of approach you entered on the GPS.
