  • END THE FED they are the cause of this

  • my favorite part is 2:42

  • Vote for Obumma again, and this is where we will be America!

  • where and who took the pics?

  • my dad was 2 when it crashed, buy what you need and not what you want.

    common sense.

  • heel mooibedankt ,johanna .

  • The Greater Depression 2008-2020?

  • @AndreasAntoniusMaria 2008? That was just a tickle; I fear we ain't seen nothin yet. I suspect we will be those pictures before long.

  • If you see poverty coming your way, move to the state of Tennessee where the mountains and streams are, do not move to any state like California or Arizona where the mountains are dry and desert. Move to Gruetli Laager, Tennessee, where there are mountains and streams by the thousands upon thousands of acres, and live in the wilderness paradise up here and GET OUT OF THE CITIES WHERE CRIME WILL BE SO RAMPART IN DAYS TO COME.

  • People today complain so much about having it hard, yet they trade their cars every 3 years, say they need bigger houses, wear designer clothes, eat as much food possible, and buy their kids all the latest electronic gadgets, etc...They need to watch this and remember learning about the Great Depression. Maybe they'd get a real reality check!!

  • If the USA keeps spending money like we are doing someday people will be showing pictures of the second great depression and SOME OF US just might be in those photos. Thanks Congress - thanks for NOTHING.

  • sadly this is going to happen again, when are county goes into inflation

  • Good advice at the end.

  • @bertly71

    You got to stay POSITIVE!

  • @davidnandavid I am trying my hardest. The financial aspect of all of this mess is overwhelming. Just think of 3 percent interest on 14.3 trillion dollars of debt. Our kids and grandkids will be paying this back for generations and never be able to realize the opportunities we have had. It saddens me. I still pray for fiscal sanity.

  • don't worry just trus in Your bankster loving house senate president and courts. everything will be ok. In GS we trust. thanks ben and alan and barney and chris and george and barry and lets not forget BILL

  • MrCraig1930,

You said a mouth-full. I wish you weren't right but I am afaid you are perfectly correct. Thank you for your input.

    Dave.

  • This Country hasn't been prosperous for the last 30 years. When I drive thru an Industrial area of any city and see factories abandon the prosperity is gone. This Country doesn't grease its own wheel these days. Until jobs are brought back, the jobless rate will continue to skyrocket. When I entered the job world in 1948, everyone was working. the economy was affordable and now affordability is gone. For you young kids that never lived through a Depression, just wait, it's on the way.

  • @MrCraig1930 Do you really think another Depression is on the way? Why do you think another Great Depression will come to pass? By the way, I'm 21 years old. As of late , I've grown very interested in this particular period of American history.

  • @MrIsaiah722

i know you wrote this a month ago but go to Google and search us debt clock first link might put things in to perspective for you

  • @richardcwood1 I was a young boy during the Depression, My parents said the samething about Wall Street.

  • what is the name of the Song?

  • @pepino2460..... Music from the O Brother soundtrack, Chris Thomas King

  • Stock market bubble exploded creating Great depression , Housing bubble created this Great depression it will last for LOOOONG time.

and who was behind bubbles Federal Reserve

  • Some of these photos resemble the 3rd world today. I suppose WW2 had it's advantages...It pulled the US out of depression with enough money to spare at the end to enable the US to lend money to war torn nations under Marshall Aid.

Britain paid off it's loan in 2006.

  • my people,my people.

  • @richardcwood1 I think it's great when an 80 year old is posting on a video!! THANKS

  • @richardcwood1 May be that is still a good idea. Happy belated birthday. I pray that our country hasn't gone to hell in a handbasket.....God Bless you and Merry Christmas.

    Your friend, Dave.

  • nice song

  • part 2: the old timers were tough, today people could not make it in the same situation. Example, my late father......at age 2 his dad died in the 1918 flu epidemic leaving him, his baby sister and mom penniless and having to live off the charity of relitives, at age 12 he had to start working after school to help support his mother......then the great depression hit, as if his life was not bad enough.....later he was drafted in ww2, wounded and partially disabled....he lived to the age of 83

  • @inkey2 I really would like (hope) to think your wrong...I think about the starving men at Valley Forge...They found the strenght to fight and win. I think that there are alot of folks who could find the same internal fortitude.

  • @inkey2 This is the truth! What a feminized, pussified nation we have become since 1945! The poor people in the USA are way better off than the middle class of many nations. This is the truth. G-d help us! (Army vet)

  • America was lucky the people did not overthrow the country.

  • @heartlessvietboy my guess is when you are so poor and starving you don'y have the will and energy to overthrow anything

  • @inkey2 Roosevelt tried to help the people by burning large amounts of crop so that farmers could get higher prices for their wheat. Obviously that's absolutely insane --- just like establishing minimum wages as high as 90% of the average US income. This basicly meant few people were payed luxurious wages while the vast majority couldn't get ANY job. The fed crashed the economy and the government made it impossible to recover.

  • Have a good look around today, there's incredible poverty we just ignore it.

  • And it should also be said that thousands of children and older folks did indeed die from starvation and sickness during these times. Not everyone made it to better days. And many more folks were on the edge of collapse well before 1929. Far fewer "safety nets" were in place then. And many of the poor got the brunt of very harsh treatment from those in local power.

  • Thanks. My grandparents and my mother told me many stories

of the Depression. We must avoid this. Public works programs

are needed now. Tax the rich to pay for them. They do not need

    hundreds of millions.

  • @jerzymirsky How about starting out with a fair tax code? The one we have now is horrible. I have always like the idea of a flat tax.

  • They didnt complain because they lived in a very different society than we do today. They didnt have tv prorgrams offering them the chance to become a star, they didnt have magazines telling them how they should look, what is beautiful, what car to drive, what latest gadget to have. People were just surviving then, people now are spoiled, greedy, lazy and expect far too much.

  • @KeltikTheGreat Amen my friend, Amen.

  • The great Depresion started when the stock market crash on black tuesday. try to found out how did it crash.

  • sad times much like today without the tatered clothes and shacks

  • I never hear my dad or mother say anything. They went out west ,from Texas.

  • this pictures can see in Argentina in color live now 2010

  • This time it will be worse because jobs are going over seas.

  • Detroit is worse today !!

  • As i was taught. You live within your means. If you have 9 kids, you live like you have 9 kids.. i love America but we as a country now ,live like a bunch of spoiled i get what i want people.

  • Hello Duck:

Well, credit is not a bad thing, but it is important to use it wisely. Unfortunately, if banks are allowed to change your interest rate from 8% to 29% without cause, then you could say that people were abused. I just watched a documentary where this practice was exposed. Hence, people were told one price and made a decision, but the price was changed after the fact and without the ability to rescind purchases.

  • Noboby in this video lived over their means. This is propaganda.

The rich live over our means....

  • @AustrianAtheist What do you mean "This is propaganda." You have no idea what my folks went through. MY folks, MY PEOPLE, My Grandparents... came thought this and more.....your fixing to piss me off. Go talk about something you have witnessed youself and quit puking on my video.

  • @duckpoop220 What do you mean Live Like? We are spoiled and expect to get what we want. When the Banks Crash again it will be catastrophic, most won't know how to survive and will perish

  • @sully0001 Remember....easy does it. We will all get through this together, In China during the Boxer rebelion, poor folks boiled and ate grass to live. They made it and so did our folks. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Hunt, fish and farm. They did it and so can we. Let's just pray it we all make it if it comes down to that.

  • We folks out in the country know how to survive.I just feel bad for all the city folks.its gonna get messy...

  • I'm going to steal one of your chickens!

  • I was just trying to think what I would do if it got so bad, I lost my job and couldn't get another...I'd sell my house, go buy the best tent I could find, best camping stove, grill, air mattress etc..I'd put the money in the bank and try to just buy food, and neccessities until I could get into a hospital for senility...I hope we figure this out before it looks this bad

  • Too late.

  • @kimber202 Putting your money in the bank would be a bad idea. Banks are failing because loans are not being paid back. So in fact you could lose money by putting it in the bank!

  • Good song!

  • it is unfortunate that you in the US and us here in Canada have collectively failed to teach our children throughout the decades about the rise and fall and reason behind it all of the roman empire, the british empire, and now i have to say the US. through our love of luxury borrowed and hard work put off, we have as western society as a whole, created the perfect storm from which we must face head-on. it is of course easy to blame the US but that would be severely narrow minded IMO. .

  • Each great empire lasted from 220 to 250 years; The United States is in its 219th year and goign down fast. I believe it is because of a combination of extremely , evil few who want to get rid of the underclass they created by making disastrous economic decisions that has made money almost worthless as more and more services and essentials are cut back while taxes are raised and the rich are bailed out through socialism, all approved by the rich man's Congress.

  • I dont' think the translation is very good....but if I get the drift of what your saying: I think your wrong.....respectfully, Dave.

  • then the second world war and the empire it came British expenses in America all the money that she had plundered in the world to fight the Hitler... the great beneficiary of everything this they were the Americans, the manufacturing industries of the US started to build with the money of the British empire, airplanes ships guns and so they went out of the crisis.

  • My brothers are masters of economics. This is what they say about the next great depression "IT WON'T BE LIKE THE 1930's IT WILL BE ___MUCH___ WORSE " !!!!

  • It will be much worse and so so so many people just dont get this yet. They will, though. They will.

  • thanks. i needed the info. its very sad.

  • oh man, i love this song so much. It's just so amazingly beautiful

  • They were lucky they weren't living in Detroit now. It is 100 times worse than they had it. They had it made in the shade.

  • i wonder how it will be if it happens again

  • Music from the O Brother soundtrack, Chris Thomas King "hard times on the killing floor"

  • What is the name of the song being played and who's it by.

  • the great depression is coming again, in 2010 will be catastrofic for usa

  • God help us all. I just got back on my feet from being homeless I really don't want to go back to that.

  • Ok ok, god has NOTHING to do with that. Believe in yourself and you own talent, it's the best way to ensure you'll get through it!

  • I believe all the economy issues is God's sign. We have to help each other get out of this. That is what God is waiting for.For all these people that were and are too greedy to help if they haven't already suffered they will.

  • The question would be, are we ready for the NEXT not so great depression??

  • Amen brotha

  • Remember that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life when we are stripped of all our material things in the near future.

  • This really makes you THINK and not just "follow the leader" as we have been taught. It will take prayer to get us thru what is coming. I think a lot of people have woke up to that. Thanks 10.7 trillion for the video.

  • I'm planning to live in a cardboard box and play the harmonica. When people walk buy I'll reach out my hand and say "Dime fo a cuppa coffa." I've got it all worked out.

  • the US is on it's way back to 1929

  • good song

  • I hope this video gets to more people than 11,364 as soon as possible

  • well done. thank you.

  • Well done; very well done! I hope this will encourage many people to count their blessings! At the end of the day, one day, we may only have each other (which is one of the greatest blessings, really, other than the greatest blessing which is Salvation, IMHO). I count my blessings each day, and I am thankful for each one, smallest to the greatest! GBU and keep you well!

  • Great Job!!

  • Well moving, nice job.

  • Nice little thing at the end. Well made. Love the song too.

  • This is really good, great photos and music. My mom (still alive) at 85 has told me stories about when she was a kid in the great depression. She was one of 13 children. They slept 3 to a bed. Her father (my grandfather) had many ways to try and support them. He was a mailman, an artist, self taught watch maker, and a photographer for the town morgue. He would barter his services for food or cash. People today just don't know what a "rough life" really is.

  • maybe we'll find out again in the next months :)

  • @inkey2 amen to that Lt. Brad Duncan USMC

  • Great video. Get ready guys. Save your nickles in your house not the bank. Learn to hunt, fish, and plant a victory garden. Most importantly turn to God in prayer. I
