  • LMFAO!!

  • This lady if funny.

  • how can i do falsetto cause i cant :/

  • @marcoalamillo93 start by strengthening your middle voice (where it is comfortable) and then gradually add a few notes higher and lower during the week. I have more info too.....also, I think your voice is very nice. I listened to your "billionaire" video.

  • @singbabysing hello which is the middle voice? the problem is that I never took singing lessons and i only know what I haved learned by myself. many people tell me I need to open more mouth to sing? what is that for?

by the way thanks for whatced my video(:

  • Please don't think that the dizzy feeling is good people! That's the beginning of a faint. Too much oxygen is not welcome, it's toxic.

  • @olhavracsiul - I understand your concern, but when doing these exercises, like any other exercise, it takes time to build up the muscle strength and balance. I assure you that what I do is not toxic!

  • so in my singing practice would this be a good exercise to add to my everyday regime?

  • Yes. It is a very good exercise to do daily.

  • is it bad if i got excited by your dog breathin :o? private lessons ;)?

  • @Fille2P .....I get this a lot but I am hoping that you are trying to improve your voice. That is something I can help you with.

  • omg very hot! seems other type vids ^^ xD

  • I love this video for so many reasons. Thank you for being alive.

  • Thanks. I hope to stay alive for a long long time so I can help more people.

  • sounds like a Dog breathing LOL !

  • @gurung8888 exactly!

  • wow...i dont remember posting that comment saying that you look kind of dumb...that means someone is hacking me...so im sorry...i would never say something like that

  • u look kind of dumb

  • Oh well, I'll put up with looking dumb or being silly if it helps other people to sing better.

  • this is so fuckin' hilarious! she even put her hands up to imitate dog paws!!! roflmfao, i almost want to throw a bone at her...but, she probably knows what she's doing...

  • I do I do I do know what I'm doing and I'm trying my best to help you do it too! I'm be as silly as I can if it helps other people figure out how to sing the way they want to. I'm glad you laughed.

  • Whoa, I got lost in your explanation... can you be more clear about the breathing part?

  • you're more funny than the other singing tutors on here i hope when i get singingg lesson i have a fun teacher

  • I'm hoping to offer lessons on line in the next few months. It's taking me a long time to get this in gear because I have no one to help me with the tech stuff. But I'll keep plugging away at it so thanks.

  • ....

    omg u.u

    sounds like a porn lesson

  • Uh.....huh?

  • hi.. I'm just wondering if my singing is wrong? My sister always tell me that whenever I sang, I always make the words sound like I have so many air intake? Kindly pls. help me

  • lmao that was awesome

  • Yay!

  • so this is one of the best strengthening exorcises around. I don't get much out of hissing, this really hits the spot. When ever I get cramps in my abdomen, like when I run, it gives me great relief to kinda squat, like a plie. Thank you so much for your videos.

  • You are welcome even though it took me so long to answer you. Sorry about that but hope you continue coming back to my site because I'm getting back into making more videos soon.

  • you look lke a pervert... but you're even funny :)

  • gross man

  • And hot...

  • hmmm....

  • TnQ for your honesty , professionalism and sharing your techniques with us may God bless you.

Q; which is more important Breathing (natural action of body)or developing resonance?. TNX

  • I apologize for taking SO LONG to answer you. This major move I did this year really threw off my rhythm a bit, but now I am back and eager to help people with their voices. The short answer to your question is that both are equally important and both depend on the other one for development of the voice.

  • Comment removed

  • I teach in LA....but am trying to find a way to give real lessons online........so stay posted.

  • You are the best, I love you spirit, your energy and you love for what you do, thank you for you kind lovin heart, I could have you for a teacher any day... with much love Marcella

  • Aw, thanks, Marcella. I hope you'll tell your friends about these lessons too and stay in touch!

  • haha its kinda of funny thanks ...^^

  • Yes, it makes me laugh too and laughing is one of the best exercises for the voice, believe it or not!

  • this actually helps me more than most vocal exercises.

  • So glad to hear that! Thanks.

  • the site doesent tell anything about my problem sorry joy my problem is unique its hard to explain taking (let it be) from beatles as an example it is sung in a verry comfortable range but for me that is high

i got the same problem with most of the songs

but i did start singing about a year back now i am 20 years old they say the voice really matures after 20 years so is my range going to get any better?

  • Let It Be can be rangy at times. Try singing it in a lower key. Your voice will improve with age, but range is developed by vocal techniques that work certain muscles. Keep doing these exercises.

  • thanks joy

  • I came here looking for tips on singing. I found them. But this is just about the most sensually erotic video I've ever seen. It makes me smile AND turns me on. And hey, isn't that what singing is all about? Good job!

  • Glad you found help. I've had other people make comments about the sensual nature of these lessons, but for the life of me I can't figure that out. However, singing is truly about more than sensual expression. It's also about our attitudes towards ourselves and others, the world around us, the needs in the world...things like that. Mostly the beauty of life.

  • I can't tell if I'm moving my abs or my diaphragm. Can u actually feel it inside u? I do sound like a dog tho

  • Try lying flat on your back and do the dog pant or slow leaky tire that way. Gravity helps to discover how the diaphragm/ab thing works.

  • thanks for the last reply i have another question, the coughing thing is gone now but for how long should i keep on doing this, and when i stop which video should i do next

and thank you for your time you are amazing

  • Sorry to take so long. I'm swamped with online work. Always do this exercise and work on the slow leaky tire as well as the resonance videos and others. Daily work the muscles for best results.

  • ! You are exceptionally excellent...in your approach & getting through ( for a few seconds I thought you were a bit excentric, but now I know really are )... I`m an independent saxophonist (T&S)that seems to be "singing" more and more everyday.

I`ve just found you so...Ì`ll be around for a while... so let`s see what`s next.

  • Hey there, I have one quick question. When we breathe during an actual performance are we suppose to keep our mouth open for the inhalation? Thanks a lot for your help in advance. (I notice that you (I) cannot really do the dog pant without having your mouth open, does that mean this will be true for when we are actually singing?)

  • Yes. Keep the mouth open. The less you have to close your mouth the less you have to raise and lower your jaw. Anything that takes less energy helps. When you're actually singing, it's still best to keep the jaw loose and breath without closing your mouth. This also helps to prevent tension in the jaw.

  • hi, i tried this but i keep breathing until i get to a part where i start coghing, what should i do??

  • See the last comment.

  • i tried this but after a while i start coughing will that go away after a while??

  • Could be dry air or maybe you're pushing the breath out too hard. Try it softly and gently and slowly and see what happens.

  • that wos a good example

  • Hey, thanks.

  • hey joy i nead your help people say i have a good voice but i have a verry short range its realy short so i have to push even songs that are mid range for others and high ranges it just wont let me go there nead help i feal its a defect with my vocal cords or somethin lol

  • Thanks for writing. Don't worry about your vocal cords. There are ways to help you with this concern. Be sure to do the slow leaky tire, the projection video and the resonance videos. Also, go to my site and read all you can there because there's lots of information that can help.

  • err i can keap my leaky tyre till 50 sec and when i go to the site it shows under construction lol :P

  • Which part are you looking at on the site? There are a few under construction pages but there's still a lot of info there. Let me know...

  • Hahaha! Thats fantastic! i love your videos!

  • Thanks. Tell all your friends and enjoy!

  • hi when singing must keep the diaphargm expanded?may i know pls thx

  • Yes. See my other comments to your questions posted on the other video pages.

  • I suggest everyone to write down all the excercises on paper and pratice every day for a pair of hours divided per 30 min. sessions.

I've made huge progresses keeping track of my studies on a diary for a year.I couldn't sing before,it's not impossible tough,Good luck to everyone

  • Bravo!!!! Yes, practice.....yes yes yes!

  • is you stomach supossed to go in or out when breathing in?

  • Stomach (diaphragm and abdominal muscles) go OUT when you breath in and IN when you breath out. There's a very cool graphic on my website that shows this. Check it out cuz it will help you to see it visually to understand what's going on in your body.

  • im sorry for spamming but will dring plenty of water before you di it help?

  • Lots of water helps to keep your body hydrated and the vocal cords like that.

  • every time i do the dog pant i get a tickle in my throat and have to stop and cough so i dont think im doing it right

  • Drink lots of water and relax your throat more. Also, air out your room and try to get rid of any dust....dust can cause problems. Be sure to concentrate on your diaphragm and not your throat too.

  • its hard i do it slowly and then when i try and do it faster i get it wrong my stomach goes the other way so i do it slowly is that good?

  • That's ok. Try doihng it lying flat on your back with your arms and legs uncrossed. Just fradually increase the speed but if it gets out of sync, slow down again and keep trying.

  • i can do it slowly but when i try and do it faster my throat dries and my stomach goes the wrong way

  • Try doing it with shallow breathing.

  • its hard :(

  • It'll get better. Just don't give up!

  • Damn i can't practice it cause i always have to laugh at the "i look like a dog" part...^^ great job

  • Fun!

  • My voice keeps like wobbling (Something like that) I can't hold a note and it sounds flat. Help me pleeeeease. I wanna sing but i feel like giving up. I just wanna sing along with my songs on keyboard but can't cause I can't sing.

  • Don't ever ever give up! Wobbling can be caused by pushing the air out instead of letting it out like in a slow leaky tire. Have you tried the slow leaky tire exercise? Don't despair! You can learn!

  • Yeah i tried it and will try more. Thank you. You are an inspiration!

  • Thanks back to you! Never ever give up! Just believing that you will improve is half the battle. The other half is effort, sheer effort. Oh, and a sense of humor.

  • Lol. The breathiing technique as helped me alot. But my voice kinda sound whiney (don't know how to spell it). What do you thinks the problem?

  • Tension in the throat pinches off the sound. Check out my website for more help and thanks for writing.

  • Oh my goodness... I almost fainted... lol...

    fun..

  • You did it well! But don't overdo the faint feeling. Rest when that happens and then start again later. After a few days, the faint feeling should go away.

  • This actually helped me sing the national anthem at a competition for marching band...I still sung it badly though.

  • Wow, national competition. I'm glad it helped but I bet you didn't sing as badly as you think, so don't be too hard on yourself. The fact that you had the guts to sing in front of all those people under such pressure makes you successful already. Just keep working on your voice and believe in yourself and your dreams. I wish I could have seen the competition. Is it on a video anywhere online?

  • I don't know....maybe

  • It wasn't a national...just a state....

Idk if it was posted....Idk anyone who recorded it...I'll try and look.

But I went to a bowling tournament this past weekend and I sung "America the Beautiful"

It was horrible b/c I went out of tune....Ica't carry a tune for nothing.

  • These were one of our vocal exercises, while singing hahahAHaHAha and jumping.. :D

    Thank You!

  • Sounds like great fun!

  • i almost passed out doing this... lol.

  • Can youu explaiin how to usee the dog pant as youu singg pleasee

  • These exercises are all to prepare you to sing, not to do while you're singing. Kind of like lifting weights to strengthen your muscles. You don't think about the weights when you lift a bag of groceries, or a bike, for instance.

  • wow yourra greaat teacherr , i know that i still havent mastered mi singing voive yet, but its commingg , thankss lotzz.

  • not to be rude. but you turn me on in this video for some crazy reason. and you breathing like a dog isn't usally a turn on for me. your a cute lady.

  • Don't mean to turn you on....do mean to help you sing better though.

  • you are officialy amasing! lol but i do feel kind off dizzy lol :D

  • You are officially awesome! Light-headed is normal at first and should go away as you practice this daily.

  • omg u are just to cool for school...anyone who will do that on camera for no other reason than to make me a better singger...YOU RULE!!!...as i'm tryin this the only other comment i see a person complains about ur 'physics'...to many idiots let lose on the internet U ARE AWSOME!! THNX!!

  • hey, when i sing and go trough different pitches or tones or w/e u call them (I don't know all the singing lingo yet) my voice like skips its not "smooth." Also there is a point at about mid range where my voice get all screechy are there exercises i can do to make my voice smoother and screech free also how can i get more control? THanks!!

  • It's a register thing. I think you asked this question on one of the other videos, yes?

  • I get very lightheaded and dizzy when I try this..Is this normal for beginners??

  • Totally normal for beginners.

  • Thank you for your helpful and easy videos. I show my little brother and sister. My question is, when I do this exorcise, should I be breathing in and out of my nose and my mouth, or just my mouth. I used to get light headed, but now I'm just euphoric for a couple of seconds... WAY COOL!

  • Man this is hard, I naturally do it the opposite way. My tummy goes out when I exhale and when I breath deeply it goes in.

  • That used to happen to me when I first started singing lessons. Try lying flat on your back and just breathing in and out normally, then gradually try to add the dog pant. This should help you to understand what's going on with the diaphragm.

  • This exercise makes my throat very very dry. X__X

  • This can be normal so be sure to drink lots of water.

  • hi, do we need to inhale air through the mouth while singing or through the nose? thx for posting these wonderfull videos

  • I do both and highly recommend keeping your tongue relaxed when you inhale and exhale. Thanks for your kind words and be sure to tell all your friends.

  • HI I WAS WONDERRING IS IT NATURAL if my stomach has alittle pain after this excercise?

  • A little pain is natural when you work any muscle hard. But it shouldn't last long and I don't recommend working so hard that you cause yourself pain. This should be a natural process of building up the control over your muscles. Try lying on your back and do it. You'll see how easy and natural it should be.

  • You can not be serious! There is absolutely now need to push the air out. It's simply physics. The abdomen actually needs to remain out during the process of singing and may have a slight inward movement towards the ends of the phrase. Do some more study on the mechanism of breathing. There is no need to push air out of a balloon...the air simply is exhaled.

  • I'm not suggesting that you push the air out. One never wants to push the air out when singing. One wants to use as little air as possible to create as much power and beauty as is possible, all with the least amount of effort in the most natural way possible.

  • You've got to be kidding right? There is absolutely NO need to push the breath out. It is just like air in a balloon. there is absolutely no necessity to squeeze a balloon to get the air out. Because of air pressure the air simply is exhaled. It is simple physics. In fact the abdomen needs to remain out, durting the process of singing until the very end of a phrase where one might have a slight movement in at the epigastrum area.

  • Right. Absolutely no need to push out the air. That's not what this exercise is about. It's about making sure that the diaphragm is working in the right direction. About 50% of the people who haven't had singing lessons breath with tension that reverses the natural movement of the diaphragm. That's why I often recommend lying flat on one's back and just breathing so that they can feel how it naturally works.

  • Huh? Working in the right direction?? The diaphragm always works in the right direction! It isn't a muscle one can MAKE do something opposite of what it does involuntarily

  • Will it ruin your voice or something if you drink pop after you do this??

  • Probably not but I don't recommend pop for other reasons. Plain water is best.

  • you are so cute:)

  • Thanks!

  • haha, nice vids! And your funny too! :D

  • Thanks. Hope you'll tell your friends about them and check out my website too.

  • can i do this exorcise sitting? or is standing more productive?

  • Sitting, standing or lying flat on your back....all are good.

  • im light headed

  • Yes, that happens when you first start but after you practice this for awhile it should go away.

  • i threw up twice doing this!!

  • Are you serious? Are you ill? I've never heard of this happening before and if you're serious, don't do it anymore until you find out more about your health.

  • I did too

  • Wow, never heard of it before. I guess you shouldn't do it if it's causing you to get ill.

  • For years I've been trying to figure out what people meant when they said, "Sing from your diaphragm!"

And now I know how ^_^

    Thanx!

  • dearest "singbabysing" (i don't know your name) I am a student of classical singing. You should check out my soundsamples and give your honest opinion. See quite an interesting debate has submerged conerning "forward placement" which i for one, consider to be misunderstood.

    Thanks R.

  • Hi, R. I think you have a pleasant voice. About forward placement: I've found from my own experience that if I focus on my throat, larynx or pharynx, I miss the mark. The sound gets bogged down inside me and lacks power. 1 teacher of mine taught me to focus on a distant object and send my voice to it by releasing all tension in my tongue and throat. It worked wonders and I hope you'll try it. Pick a point out the window (a distant tree or something) and sing towards it but don't push the sound.

  • just for the record, the reason you may feel lightheaded is because you are hyperventilating.

  • Yes, this happens, but practice will build up the muscles and less hyperventilation will occur.

  • Hi, I think you are doing a wonderful job. It looks like a lot of fun. I would like to know what sort of exercises can one do to control breath during singing. For e.g. when to breathe during a song which does not have a big enough interval like Whitney Houston's ' I will always love you'. Also what exercise do we need to do to allow us to sing for longer without takin a break for breath. I hope you can make a video about this as it helps to see it visually. Thanks alot you are a great help.

  • this is a really good exersise we do it in our music class at skewl. do u have a cd that i could buy with all of ur exercises on it to keep practiscing

  • I have some very good exercises for the voice and will have them available for sale by download as individual tracks sometime in the near future. Thanks for asking!

  • This means you're doing something right! Keep working on it!

  • wait....so what exactly does this do? is it meant to exercise your diaphragm?

  • Yes. It also trains a sense of rhythmic control over your voice and thinking process. Lots of benefits.

  • thanks!

i'm going to try this and keep it up. i'm actually a hopeless singer at the moment so fingers crossed this will help me improve.

    thanks for the videos :)

  • okay??? your weird. don't do the dog pant plz!

  • Double dare you to keep up with this exercise. Your life will be better because of it!

  • Great !! U really know a lot about this !!

    how come ?

  • LOTS of years of study with master teachers and professional performances.

  • lol i cant last 2 mins but... i try :D

  • Keep working on it and you'll get way past 2 minutes. And feel better because of it!

  • it was so hard to do the dog pant because u where making me laugh!

  • lol. Laughter is absolutely one of THE BEST vocal activities you can do! In fact, I've developed what I consider THE MOST CHALLENGING breathing exercise ever. It's based on laughter. Lots of it!

  • lol u made me laugh but your excellent! By the way, QUESTION: how long should we do the dog pant?

  • lol...thanks.

As long as you can without passing out!

  • thanks you're great :)

  • Gee that's nice to hear!

  • Thanks, you are really helpfull :), so here we go again with one last question :P hehe, how much time you consider tath i have to dedicate per day to breathing exercises?, sorry for the basic questions. I just sing for hobby. (I always put "excuse my english..." because if I make a mistake, already I have an excuse :P hehe)

  • Thanks for your encouraging words. I basically tell people that they should do as much as they can. For your situation I would recommend at least 10+ minutes per day.

  • Thank you very much, SingBabySing!

    I´m interested in vocal techinics.

    Marcio, South Brazil

  • Thank you Marcio from South Brazil. I hope these video tips will help you. And be sure to check my website for more help.

  • the dog pant makes me yawn!!! interesting.

  • There are a bunch of theories about the link between yawning and exercising but no one seems to have a clear answer about it. My take on it is that exercises (breathing and otherwise) release endorphins, which relax us. Anyhow, enjoy!

  • how much time does it take to improve to the full capacity of the diaphragm? ...3,4,5,6...11 months, 1, 2, 3 years... etc?

(excuse my english, i speak spanish)

  • It depends on how much time you put into it each day and whether or not you are doing it correctly to begin with. Your English is much better than my Spanish so please don't feel like you have to apologize.

  • Sorry but.. wtf.. 1:28 - ..

  • Voice training. Professional voice training, even though it may seem freaky. Enjoy!

  • you are a freak lol.. but its so much fun to learn to sing that way lol

  • Ok, so I think I'm supposed to take the freak part as a compliment, right? If so, I love being a freak and I'm glad to hear you're having fun with this. My personal motto is: "If it ain't fun, I'm outta here!"

  • GAH am light headed en a li'le woozy =/

  • Yep. This one will do that. As you gain more strength, you'll have less and less of that happening. Keep at it and have fun!

  • breathing similar 2 banging maybe?

  • Not really.
