@sdaonline I believe the board they used 1980-1985 was made out of loads of little lights - hense why they could play Big Money without any other lighting. The board they used 1988-2002 was a new board and I'm led to believe that was a flip disc board. Not sure who made it though. Hope that helps.
That's the same Ian Messiter who created Just a Minute. Well he had to find else something to do when he wasn't listening to Nicholas Parson wittering on about whether Kenneth Williams had been challenged by Peter Jones on hesitation... ;p)
The original FF theme tune is just one of many examples of how brilliant a musician he was, even if it may not be quite as well remembered as some of his more famous works like the Muppet Show's music and the ITC Entertainment fanfare.
@channel4squares I don't really have any, I didn't like it at the time so I didn't make a point of recording it, but will have a look through. Think there's some trailers and stuff.
Brilliant! See how Bob gives them all a kiss at the end and then the family all kiss eachother. Things have changed now. The new Family Fortunes is hosted by Jeremy Kyle and there is no kissing!! haha
that end music was epic..with that violin solo.

I notice the producer was Graham Williams - producer of Doctor Who from 1977-1979

Was Mr. Babbage a Ferranti-Packard flip-disc display board?

@antster1983 I see what you did there! You could say "played out on the very large display connected to a terminal with the moniker Mr. Babbage"

Jack Parnell RIP 6 August 1923 - 8 August 2010.

Excellent clip BTW, sdaonline.
