  • that end music was epic..with that violin solo.

  • I notice the producer was Graham Williams - producer of Doctor Who from 1977-1979

  • Was Mr. Babbage a Ferranti-Packard flip-disc display board?

  • @antster1983 I see what you did there! You could say "played out on the very large display connected to a terminal with the moniker Mr. Babbage"

  • @sdaonline I believe the board they used 1980-1985 was made out of loads of little lights - hense why they could play Big Money without any other lighting. The board they used 1988-2002 was a new board and I'm led to believe that was a flip disc board. Not sure who made it though. Hope that helps.

  • Programme associate - Ian Messiter

That's the same Ian Messiter who created Just a Minute. Well he had to find else something to do when he wasn't listening to Nicholas Parson wittering on about whether Kenneth Williams had been challenged by Peter Jones on hesitation... ;p)

  • Jack Parnell RIP 6 August 1923 - 8 August 2010.

The original FF theme tune is just one of many examples of how brilliant a musician he was, even if it may not be quite as well remembered as some of his more famous works like the Muppet Show's music and the ITC Entertainment fanfare.

    Excellent clip BTW, sdaonline.

  • Did Jack Parnell ever make this theme tune commercially available?

  • Was this theme tune ever commercially available on any of Jack Parnell's LPs?

  • Six six six??? That's the Devil's number! The Mark of the Beast!

  • That's a scary amount to win!

  • @paddle9 Also this clip is from 1982, the year Iron Maiden's album "The Number Of The Beast" was released.

  • @paddle9 I remember it well! A chap in shcool used to paint their album covers on the back of denim jackets!

  • @channel4squares I don't really have any, I didn't like it at the time so I didn't make a point of recording it, but will have a look through. Think there's some trailers and stuff.

  • Brilliant! See how Bob gives them all a kiss at the end and then the family all kiss eachother. Things have changed now. The new Family Fortunes is hosted by Jeremy Kyle and there is no kissing!! haha

  • Got one other episode from this series I shall upload a clip from soon.

  • Thanks for uploading this!

I just wish to ask do you have the credits to the 1987 runs ?

    thanks

  • No sorry, only have 2 1982 episodes!

  • at least you have bee able to prove that Challenge did broadcast these episodes, some stupid people think challenge never did

  • wonder why they think that! they also did show a Max Bygraves series too.

  • Brilliant clip featuring Family Fortunes end titles from Bob Monkhouse's era of the show sdaonline
