this is w/o a doubt my fav version of POCO. Strong vocals and some killer songs.
A "feel good" vibe from the whole band. Saw them once at Cow Palace in SanFran on NYE w/o Richie right b4 TB went to Eagles. He was wearing an Eagles t-shirt that nite...Imagine that! Thx for posting...
Poco, Lost their sound after Jim Messina left. Richie Furay did a fantastic job just getting this talent together. Most talented American band at every instrument barr no one. Well..........maybe second to Buffolo Springfield. They didn't have a steel player like Rusty!
This band should have been as well known and loved as the Eagles-whom I also love! But it is a travesty this awesome band was never given the recognition it so deserved! They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, easily! They paved the way for this kind of country-rock! Peace, BobbyK
@bobby7771117 got my vote! Think the problem is so many changes...Furay, Messina, Meissner, Schmitt, Cotten...what the hell...induct anyone who played in POCO
first saw them in Nov 1969 on my school campus (cal state u long beach). Picking up the Pieces just out. Tickets were $2.50 and $3.00, parking free. Saw them several times around Long Beach and L.A, back when I too could just hop up from the floor. Sad to see these once sexy, long haired boys now old men. Tim still looking good.
I saw them in a gym on the University of Buffalo Main Campus around 70-71. Commander Cody split the bill. It was wonderful, back then I could sit on the floor for several hours and still get up without help after it was over. Thanks, this is cool.
There was a full version of this video on youtube earlier. Richie Furay is a solid singer and songwriter. Band doesn't get the credit it rightly deserves.
One of the most underrated bands of the late 60s, early 70's. They never got the attention they rightly deserved and their influence on rock and country music (southern rock and contemporary country in particular) is tremendous in scope.
@ChasBeauregarde You betcha!I love the Eagles, but they do get way too much of the credit for being innovators of the country-rock movement.Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band,Mike Nesmith, the Byrds,Flying Burrito brothers, and Poco are whom I think of when that's mentioned, either altogether or individually.

The Eagles used to be Poco's opening act!

These guys were playing at Madison Square Garden & Shea Stadium before the Eagles even existed, in 69-70.

Brings back memories. Look at how cute Timmy was. Get a load of Paul when he was thin and still had all that hair!
