Such a brilliant and underrated game...I normally shun anime of all kinds, but this game is notable for A. being the only anime I not only like, but love and B. being the only video game to make me cry (And not only once, but twice; you all know exactly what parts I'm talking about).
I go the OST and it sort of confuses me, because it was the American version of VC that led me to the purchase.
The first 20 seconds of this song seems like the opening intro movie's music, but non-Rosie, instrumental version isn't on the soundtrack! Instead, the "Game Opening Version" song on the OST is a vocal track.
Did they ever release the American opening's music as a separate track?
@SakagamiNL Pfft. -_- I'd buy a PS3 just for this game. I got a psp 3000 last crhistmas and got VC 2. (loved it!) So next christmas I guess I better get a PS3 and valkria chronicals. despite already owning a 360.
The first time i completed this game, i couldn't believe the masterpiece that I had just played. I was sad for days because it ended! The experience I felt whilst playing this game was unique, you truly do get sucked in and feel a part of the story and grow attached to the characters :) I was so moved and yes, I did cry at that one sad part, the only game thats ever made me cry thats not a final fantasy :P AMAZING! My favourite game :)
I got a ps3 for Christmas, and Valkyria Chronicles was the best 20$ I spent on a video game, I would have gladly paid the whole 60$ for it if I had to, this was the most amazing game, and such a well thought out combat system. Cheers, and Kudos to Sega for making a game, and anime this great! Sega keep it up!
That was a sad moment :( I like Rosie singing the Darcsen folksong in the anime though, thats a lovely song, but I prefer this from the game, after all, it is the original song for.. that moment. :(
It is underrated by the public. They don't know shit about it. And that is the majority hence underrated by the majority of the public. And because sega did not advertise it except in japan. People seem to think it is a kids game. Atleast my friends did until i showed them.
yeah my friends were also like, isn't this game's graphic somewhat shitty? it's like a cartoon game for kids. it's very underrated in public. it was one of the best game i've ever played and story was just plain awesome too.
SEGA didn't really advertise it around here, and many of us (including me) were hesitant to buy a game without multiplayer or trophy support at full price. I picked it up during a 50% off sale, but having played through it twice, I can say that I would've paid the full $60 had I known how good it was :)
This game has made history!Forget about Fallout 3, Gears of War,Little Big Planet. This game is more deserving of an award than games that focus more on just gameplay and graphics rather than the heart of the story and characters which will move you and make a huge impact in your life.
I'm with you! Sega has made history for this game! This game has made history for all the games out there! Best story line you could ever find in just 1 game and not in multiple games. Sega overdone themselves on this one. Over all the games I have played this has been the only one that moved me and made a huge impact in my life after what happened to Isara.
Agreed. Completing that game was the most bittersweet moment I've experienced in a while. Yeah, I won, but that means no more engrossing story or rich and full characters who are potent enough to make you actually care what happens to them.
Agreed. A very underrated game, especially in the sales. IMO, this has surpassed Final Fantasy Tactics for best SRPG, and it's definitely a top 10 JRPG.

I agree. The story was just awesome. It was well worth the 20 bucks. I loved it.

A little on the inside?
Fuck that, I was bawling the whole entire time! At first it was Angry Tears at the "shot" part, then full out Bawling Tears at the funeral.

I like the orchestral version that is on the gamedisc. But i can't seem to find it, and it wasn't on the OST either :/
In the games music tab it is called "A Love Passed On (Orchestral)"

I like the American actress's voice better. Still, a great song no matter what language it's in.

She is also the voice of yuna from final fantasy X/X-2 :D

most underrated game of 08. no doubt.

Not exactly underrated. The reviewers adored it. I know I loved it--tactical RPGs are rare games, and it's a genre that I really like.
But nobody BOUGHT it.

The game had horrid marketing in the U.S. It's simple, if no one knows the game exists and no one knows how good it is, no one will buy it.

strange, I got the impression that it's THE game for the PS3. Almost everyone I talked to about the PS3 told me to get this game.
TechnophileReviews 2 years ago
IGN loves it, and IGN pretty much controls what most gamers buy.
