also wanted to add, I like you vids and not knocking you, but the bow makes the least amount of noise and its just a one time crack, the arrow all the way to the target makes more noise then the bow.
@bowhunterjohn63 This is not a video of me shooting, this is a girl trying to get her first deer. Deer under 20 yards don't jump the string when I shoot my equipment. She was shooting a Mission Menace... a Menace it is!
@TheFieldArcher I've got numerous videos of deer jumping as close as 17 yards with my Outback , just depends on a lot of things.
One that bow she is shooting is slow, two the arrow makes noise as it travels. I've got a video fo a doe at 31 yards dropping almost to the ground under my arrow.
Not saying anything bad, just I don't shoot deer with their heads down anymore because they are already loaded
First shot might have caught the spine but shot was way high, I try not to shoot deer feeding with their heads down, they muscles are already "loaded"
Dude still awesome shooting under 1st time pressure, close range and archery gear. I hunt mulies with trad gear and can't count the times in the early days especially this happened to me. Nice cam work, man. I gotta see it again. lol
It's also clear that she's shooting high at least twice in this video and all over the place. If she was aiming and hitting the bottom of your circle, she might have killed at least one of those deer.
@Fullquiver231 But remember, you are watching her on her first EVER hunts... what do they teach you in the classes at the hunter ed classes for your license? Shoot behind the shoulder, that is what she did... before I took her out she was touching arrows in the x-ring... I remember when I first started to hunt, I was not shooting for the heart knowing that if they dropped it would be lungs... I shot for the lungs too, that is what they teach at hunter ed! Can't foul her!
I think it is a combination of spooky deer and the bow making substantial noise at release. If you are baiting the deer, hunting further off the bait will help. When the deer are at the bait, they are really on their toes.
I hate to say it, but in the second shot, it looks like the arrow purely misses underneath the belly of the deer near the rear legs. Right at 1:19, the arrow can be seen between the camera and the deer's mid-ribs. I believe it missed low. The third shot seems to be at a weird angle. Still, those are slow flying arrows. I'd definitely change the bow, or at least a new string and possibly a cable.
@Beastmasterrex It does not go underneath, that is the shadow of the arrow, check it out again because it goes over. She was shooting a new bow, Mission Menace!
@TheFieldArcher Well I'll be... That's some good high quality video that you're taking. It's definitely a caliber above the average and I applaud you for it. I wouldn't have thought a shadow would show that clearly, but you're right. And she needs a refund.
Aim lower towards the heart., when they duck you still may hit the lung. Or your bow is still too loud or your taking shots from too far away, Can't really tell any more from the video.
@tiantheree I am not doing the shooting, this is a young lady that I brought to a spot of mine trying to get her her first deer. Last I spoke to her she was going to try a crossbow that shoots 365 FPS, I think that should help her!
@TheFieldArcher i have to go with beast on this 1 the 1st shot looked good the deer did jump the string the 2nd clear as day miss right under the deer and the last shot should not have even been taken really bad angle srry man but its clear as day and was it really a girl or just u saying it was to save face cause ive put the blame on my wife for some bad shots ive took
@heybrian6 Yes, gut them on the spot and then to the check station and then to freezers of family and friends... and sometimes I donate to Hunters Helping The Hungry.
Don't think it the bow brother. On a bait pile (for me) 10 pin becomes a 20 pin, 20 pin becomes a 30 pin, and so on, Especially if the deer have been educated. Awesome footage!
shoot for the belly. its all you can do

Ahem, crossbows are arrow guns. Encourage her to stick with the stick!

by the way, when you kill the deer in your videos, what do you do to them? Do you have to gut them right then and there?

Those deer look like hard suckers to hit. They are moving before the arrow is anywhere near them.
