thanks, xylus2345... that happens here in UT but in your case you've shown a quick and mature shift of disposition that is even admirable. Let's move on and I'm inviting you to view more from my channels :-)
The magnitude of this flooding will be eclipse by a much bigger flood in the future. Human beings in this planet are dumping 28 to 30 Billion tons of CO2 into the Earth's atmosphere every single year (still increasing), this contributes to "Global Warming" which in turn screwed-up "Weather Pattern" and alter/changes "climates" all over the world. We will experience extremes of droughts and flooding as we continue to destroy the most precious gift of God to mankind - the environment.
Never in the history of the entire province that it experienced such a humongous flood - beyond any person can imagine or think about. There's just no solution to mitigate "Global Warming" or "Climate Change" because of mankinds voracity on "fossil fuels" - for the generation of electricity and tranportation fuels: Crude Oil=31 Billion Barrels per year or 86 Million Barrels per day... Coal=6.2 Billion tons per year ... Natural Gas=3 Trillion cubic meters per year. These figures are still rising.
It's unsettling to see ominous signs, read and listen to calculated assessment of our environmental future from concerned scientists like you and while we're gripped by thoughts of the menace of global warming there seem to be no collective efforts from the very super powers who themselves were behind and are responsible for all these
Selfish tycoons, technocrats, politicians, interest peddlers, you and I had done enough to create all these global mess that's why.. what are we really apt to? Until there should come some serious global efforts to offset, delay, repair the damages that had been done, these gnawing environmental questions would build up into a a ticking and tickling time bomb that would seek its own course of action.
Here in Canada, we capture CO2 from the atmosphere and inject it permanently under the ground. But the process is too costly and it removes only a very, very tiny amount of "Green-house Gases" from the Earth's atmoshpere. We cannot reduce or even stop our consumption of "fossil fuels" because it drives the world's economy and the wheels of the industries of the developing and developed countries will come to a grinding halt without crude oil, coal, natural gas, etc.
Renewable Alternative Energy Sources is not the answer to "Global Warming" or "Climate Change", nor it help reduce our dependence on "fossil fuels". I myself, an Inventor/Physicist/Scientist ... has developed Renewable Energy Systems that can tap Indigenous Energy Sources of the Philippines - but this no match to the magnitude of Energy we get from "fossil fuels" being imported from Saudi Arabia. Please go to my profile and read about how I sacrificed my self for the sake of "Mankind".

The US based chapters of the Univ. of San Agustin Alumni Association just sent $3000 c/o of Arch. Lagdameo for assistance to the flood victims. We at USAAA-Midwest Chapter are also organizing a used/new clothes and medicine donation drive for the same purpose.
Those are Great moves on the part of the St. Agustin University Alumni Association and the USAAA-Midwest Chapter, Tante. Iloilo and other provinces most hardly hit by Storm Frank need all other forms of assistance more than we can ever imagine.
Tante, Bill Gates has donated $500,000 for Storm Frank casualties, we'd pray as hard as Frank's full force of nature this will be distributed through proper channels by those who are in charged and reach its rightful recipients or beneficiaries. So help them God.
That is very nice of BG. I share in your very justifiable concern, Ed. I hope 100% of the donation goes to those who really needy it. Damm whoever the corrupt agent who would grab any of this amount for his own selfish and personal enrichment.
i have passed by passi city on my way to roxas city from iloilo and i wonder how this town of sugar mills became a city...because of high income? high population? GOOD INFRASTRUCTURES??? MY GOODNESS!!! IT'S THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE ENCOUNTERED A HIGHWAY (or rough road?)PASSING THRU THE CITY WITH SO MANY gigantic potholes...it seems that i am driving on the surface of the moon. maayo lang tani kon malip-ot lang, but 15-20 kms of rough road? my back sored when i arrived in roxas.
Noygelo, where you've been through, bumpy lunar-like thoroughfares, which according to you, are formations of gigantic potholes, is a national infrastructure of which the city of Passi has nothing to do with them. Perhaps you may write and ask your congressmen and those in Malacanang what you might have done to deserve such a treatment.
Hahaha,Noygelo. It's not laughing matter, but found the way you tell it funny, altho the potholes are really there. Was there myself 3 mnths ago, and had expernced it, too. Aside frm To2Ed suggestn, I jst want to add those potholes are worst close to area of sugarmills. This national rd provdes daily access to hndreds of hvy cane trucks, some weighng upwrds of 40 tons. Add rainy weathr, and you have a perrenial prob. Hopng tht in futr, they build highly reinforced rds ths sectn of natl hghwy.
Was the dentist open for business? I suppose the water would have subsided by then, right? If you will, please tell us about your experience. Just hungry for news about Passi city.
Thanks so much for posting these pictures on YouTube. It's unbelievably sad to look at all the familiar places that were ravaged by typhoon Frank. Sa mga tumandok sang Passi, we all know that the town/city got flooded several times before to a lesser degree, perhaps, or even worse, who could remember? But I know Passi City and the mighty Passinhons will rise again and again to face the challenges ahead. Bangon Passinhon!!!
lailanpaul, Salamat sa inyo komentaryo. From the town fire in the mid-1950's that razed almost half of the poblacion, to the first flash flood of 1956 after the Dingle dam was constructed, and the countless other calamity that followed, Passi has suffered several set backs after another. But true to your statement, Passi has risen again and again. Good to hear from you, Kasimanwa.
To My Viewers: The video you are about to see was conceived and made from limited sources as taken by my dear town mate, Ben Tagamolila. The ideas and messages accompanying it are personal and does not necessarily reflect those of anyone in particular. It's easy for critics to find faults like syntax and typo but believe me, I've created it out of the best intentions and aesthetically.
If kindness is what your trying to convey thru this video, then your "so called" message in the end does not justify it. Kicking who are suffering the most does not change what already happened. But what is most painful is blaming those who doesn't need it.
Ming, Ahayyy, gutom2 and All: Don't take the general admonition personally. Taga-Iloilo man kita tanan. I look at it as reminder to all present inhabitants of this planet, that we have to take care of our environment. Flooding could only get worse in future, if we continue consuming our trees without reforestation programs, clogging our rivers, etc. We, as temporary tenants of Earth and especially our government, should be proactive in preservng this world for the future generations.
ming772, I'm an artist first hand and foremost and my awareness of the ills that befall our very existence in this planet is based on my personal experience and awareness of the our global situations at the hands of
those whose only agenda are based on self-interest. Don't get me wrong. We're on the same side of the coin. The Dr. Frankenstein I was referring to is not YOU or me. It is THEM.
Why do our city streets&city grounds have flash floods? Bcause many people and businesses cover with concrete all ground areas around their buildings, and water from heavy rains is not able to percolate into the ground. Since our drainage system is not able to handle the sudden huge increases in water volume, it flows very quickly and flood the streets and the lower grounds. This has to be regulated. In the USA, each new big structure is required to provide retention basins for surface water.
Tante, your conscientious opinion and in depth assessment of the many factors affecting our ecological system are shared by hundreds of millions of this planet's human inhabitants who, more than anything, are fearful, not for their own lifetime's security but also for the next generations' who would inevitably inherit our past, present and near future mistakes, abuses, greed, betrayal and rampantly irresponsible global house-keeping.
Here is one reason humans can be blamed for flooding: illegal, uncontrolled logging & destructn of trees in our forests and mountains.Trees absorb rain and ground moisture & impede fast flow of water. Without them, soil on hills&mountains stay wet&saturated with water. It softens,& landslides occur. Landslides form natural dams which fills up with watr when heavy rains come, and suddenly fail. Flood watrs flow fast and unimpeded and causes rivers to overflow and cause damage. We can stop this!
The City of Passi and its Brgys's losses may not be as grieve as those of other Iloilo provincial towns' inflictions sustained from Frank's fury and our deep sympathy goes for them. We have relatives and friends there, too, and as Ilonggos, we are not vacillating and talking all about this trivia, tongue-in-cheek. Help is on the way, just be patient.
we here suffering & "bearing with it" does not share you sentiments to2ed/tnte1. nobody "asked for this" nor do we have the power "to create this monster" Frank. we are not Peeble, but rather "PEBBLES in the sand".
it is not only gutom2 who is affected. with your "unselfishness", we are very greatful. you can send you donation to jaro cathedral, jaro, iloilo city. madamo gid nga salamat.
P.S. please take note of the spelling for your future referrence.
Ahayy,I emphatize with your situation there as victim of MotherNature. I'll have another comment about this later. Thanks for pointing out the "Peeble" typo - gutom2 had already mentioned it. Haven't your own fingers ever slipped before? I know To2Ed would not want me to make excuses for him, but just so you know he worked on this video after coming home from working night shift, before getting much needed rest. Why are you proposing donation to be sent to Jaro? Aren't you from Passi City?
Good eye! Hahaha, the grammar critic is not perfect himself/herself. Regardless, we understand what is being said, so okey lang.
It's spelled with double B, not E. Kasimanwa pa naman kita. Ang gin akig mo da kung gin bulig mo, napasalamatan ka pa tani. Padal-i kami bugas kag sardinas nga Tate!
paamani spam tito ed! Anyway, thank you, I was really waiting for this video and thanks to you too Nong Ben and Nong Tante ... as of this posting I'm the 2,421st viewer so far.
Hi, Neng Dora, you might bet and play those combination in Pick-4, hahaha.. I'll play it actually, 2421.. & should that win, I'll send all my winnings to both gutom2 & ahayyyy who are capitalizing on a typographical error to drive home their irrelevant impressions.
korek ka dyan tito Edz, some of us can be soooo critical sometimes, so how are you affected back home? sa balay asta hawak ang tubig sa basement, masadya panglinaba kag extension sang halayan sang tanan, Thank God nobody was really hurt sa mga kasimanwa kag kaparyentehan ta (none that I know of).
Neneng Dora, the water level in our house interior reached neck high, all our tenants who work with Mercury Drugs are all women, not the type you'd expect to lift hard-wooden furniture. Ben graciously took pictures through the request of Tante without even informing me after he heard that I was so concerned about my late Mom's carton of album collection which I thought was a casualty. Thank God, it was moved by a nephew to his house last December for a reason.
Let me be the first to commend you on what you have done here. With your hard work and splendid effort you've pulled all our kababayans all over the world TOGETHER. I hope that your unselfish work will blossom and bear fruit, igniting the love for our hometown and city with a passion, in everyone's heart.
"with your unselfish???" I would likely appreciate this sh|t if they're not megalomanias to post their names along with this video... after all its not about them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
doerMatt, thanks for your comment. I hope we can get something constructive out of it. By "unselfish" I meant it takes significant investment in time and effort to create this video. With due respect, if you do not know the sentiments of the author of this clip, you aren't really in a position to judge his intentions. If you are someone who cares what is happening in your hometown, don't you think this clip has provided something of value?

I'd say "Amen" to that.

P.S. please take note of the spelling for your future referrence.
ahayyyyy 3 years ago
Ahayy,I emphatize with your situation there as victim of MotherNature. I'll have another comment about this later. Thanks for pointing out the "Peeble" typo - gutom2 had already mentioned it. Haven't your own fingers ever slipped before? I know To2Ed would not want me to make excuses for him, but just so you know he worked on this video after coming home from working night shift, before getting much needed rest. Why are you proposing donation to be sent to Jaro? Aren't you from Passi City?

korek ka dyan tito Edz, some of us can be soooo critical sometimes, so how are you affected back home? sa balay asta hawak ang tubig sa basement, masadya panglinaba kag extension sang halayan sang tanan, Thank God nobody was really hurt sa mga kasimanwa kag kaparyentehan ta (none that I know of).

Ed,
Let me be the first to commend you on what you have done here. With your hard work and splendid effort you've pulled all our kababayans all over the world TOGETHER. I hope that your unselfish work will blossom and bear fruit, igniting the love for our hometown and city with a passion, in everyone's heart.
Tnte1 3 years ago
"with your unselfish???" I would likely appreciate this sh|t if they're not megalomanias to post their names along with this video... after all its not about them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
doerMatt 3 years ago
doerMatt, thanks for your comment.
