Hey. This is great. I am doing the same thing too but I will control only 3 things: lights, heat, coffe maker. Is there away you can send the schematic? I will use Xbee and Arduino board.

Nice!
I agree completely with the relay thing. Transistors can do the same thing, but I prefer not to mix grounds of multiple power supplies.
By the way, we have the same soldering iron. 15 bucks @ MPJA, right?
