@geoff189d Yes, but because they were designed for the ever changing weather of buenos aires, closed at the bottom and opened at the top, they've never rolled with full load, and were retired from service in the first decade of the XXth century. Later in the 50s, there was another attemp for double deckers, trying to cope with increasing demand in some tram lines.

So Buenos Aires did have double-decker trams. I read that once but have never seen photographs of them. Thanks.
