  • Going to their concert tonight.. saw them a little over a year ago and they are even better live!

  • why are these guys so fucking awesome??

  • So thankful to be from Philly! What an awesome music scene.

  • talk about a love song. this band is amazing. the new album is fantastic.

check out their show on KCRW:

    kcrw (DOT) com/music/programs/mb/mb120210dr_dog

  • I HATE HOW HE DOESNT GET RECONGINIZED LIKE F@&K PEOPLE

  • this looks like it was filmed at that rollerblading place Rhett and Link made a commercial for.

  • Wait..... what...... is that Neil Young just kidding..... kind of sounds like him.

  • Amazing band.

  • i just realized this singer sounds so much like paul simon. if paul simon rocked this hard.

  • Is this Flaming Lips?'

  • @eklund8 no, it's a band called Dr. Dog

  • Just saw them in LA last night. Their live act puts their studio music to shame.

  • This video makes me want to go roller skating.

  • sounds like a slower portugal the man

  • I like to think this is where all the shadow people go.

  • 0:55 is where the song really gets good

  • @ninja545 0:01 is where the song gets really good

  • Maybe everyone stopped seeing the shadow people because they all stopped taking uppers, and stopped doing drugs.

  • Dr Dog is so amazing.

  • I love the leads voice.

  • sounds like Built to Spill

  • Yay, my gf is in this video, she's the one in the green dress ^^

  • @nodokaxnegi4ever My mom is in this video. She's the one with the roller skates.

  • @nodokaxnegi4ever the one at 2:39 ?

  • @nodokaxnegi4ever

Shes pretty isnt she? shes my best friend.

  • @nodokaxnegi4ever

Shes been my gf for three weeks btw ;)

  • @nodokaxnegi4ever No, that's my girlfriend.

  • I think he's very good, he reminds me of Bob Dylan and the Wallflowers. 2 GREAT bands/singers! Of course they're father and son too so they have a similar sound~

  • See this

this is how you make a country song. There was once a time when the genre meant something important, looks like Dr. Dog are the only ones who remembered that.

  • @MrClaremonster Dr Dog gets a lot of genres right.

  • Sounds like Johnston.Still rad though.

  • i think i saw my grandma

  • hopin these cigarettes will save ussss

  • the guy in sun glasses looks like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ha ha. But fuck him. Dr. Dog jams the fucking pants off me. Im talking "you can dance you can dance everyone look at your pants" style

  • so happy i get to see them in 36 days

  • @tykenotdyke81 where at?

  • @89arnburg the music box, lil late sorry

  • Damn the beggining is gay. wish it went straight to the middle

  • Flaming Lips rip off

  • @theachtungtree Not even. Dr. Dog has a unique sound that I haven't heard from any other band. If you don't believe me you would have to listen to some of their other stuff. Shadow People is to main streem and simple of a song to judge their potential.

  • @AndieAcoustic oh....not his other works, just flaming lips "She don't use Jelly" on this song

  • @theachtungtree Doctor Dog takes more from the Beatles than the Flaming Lips. It's not really a big deal in either situation though. That's how new music is created. Some people just synthesize their influences a bit better than others to create something that feels more original, but almost every new piece of music is derivative in some sense of the word.

  • @lokicatman yeah...i absolutely agree there, i'm a huge fan of belle and sebastian and this is going to sound weird but i really think that i've already know some of their songs like old 60s tunes but i really can't relate them to any of those bands...awesome in a sense

  • @theachtungtree somehow I had to think of Belle & Sebastian too, rather "simple" music, but great melodies and expression!

  • @flake93 sometimes "simple" things are special too, modest band imo

  • @MegaManOLantern Oh, I see it in fact is not buried. Wait a second, there it is, at the top!

Well.... don't I feel silly. You know what though, you're still an overreaching troll though. Strange, no matter how that works out, you still come out the loser on the internet who hates on strangers. Jeez.

  • @GrooGrux86DMB when you actually scrutinize and analyze my comment, it was filled more with dissaproval than anything. I used the word hate because I really can't stand seeing those, it's the equivalent of someone shouting; "Free Bird!" at a show thinking they're cute. Yes, what people say on the internet has always dictated what kind of person they are.

  • i love tons of new music, and it doesn't get much better than this right now

  • Does anyone know what guitar he's using? In the beginning?

  • I think they got inspired by "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles and wrote this song.

"All the lonely people, where do they all come from? All the lonely people, where do they all bleong?" Lol.

  • Scott McMicken é Chaves.

  • At least everybody knows what the Second Mile is now.

  • perfect song to smoke a late night bowl to

  • i love this video

  • completely describes my life.

shadow people = the fake people

  • Ok serious question, if i were to go to a local record store what genre would this be listed under?

  • @ITsmusicpage A lot of times they are classified as Psychedelic Rock

  • @sarabdara I figured it might be something psychedelic.Thank you.

  • @ITsmusicpage hahaha what local record store? Hate the 21st century....

  • this was uploaded on my birthday :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • I am so glad they chose holiday skating rink ! ! ! ! I know almost everyone in the video ! It is so great to see everyone!

  • sounds like the singer from flaming lips

  • @MyMorningPants Yeah he does, but ill take it

  • sooo can someone please explain what this song's about. I really like it but i don't wanna come to find out its some weird devil shit one day.

    thanks :)

  • 'Hipster song' is a stupid label. Shut the fuck up.

  • The dislikes come from people who know that this dude stole his voice and style from Daniel Johnston. Stealing from a retarded man is lower than low... And you're actually less talented.

  • @kcityrocker That's pretty low man. Daniel Johnston has severe bipolar disorder. To call him retarded is insulting and misinformed. Besides, This guy sounds a lot more like Wayne Coyne or Doug Martsch.

  • @lokicatman Shit, you're right... I forgot he was bipolar, I see how I just fucked up... This dude sounds like an imitator to me though.

  • @kcityrocker sounds like you and Daniel have something in common then, except hes not retarded, just talented

  • @tmcd771 Yeah yeah, I get it... You're king, I'm peasant...

  • @kcityrocker I agree with you completely. I've seen people digging dr. dog, so i came to check this out and was like "daniel johnston?" So similar. Too similar for me to like as its own thing.

  • @nvt09 Exactly

  • Who cares if it's a 'hipster song'!!!! You like it or you don't (unlikely), thats all that should matter!!!

  • is this a hipster song?

  • @kamikrazycanadian It's not a hipster song unless you make it seem like a hipster song

  • 18 people hate old people on roller-skates :D I think it's awesome.

  • He has one of the best bad voices.

  • I saw Scott (the singer) about two years ago, doing an acoustic set opening for My Morning Jacket, but I haven't really gotten around to listening to Dr. Dog until now. I love this song, haha. Anyone have any suggestions on which CD I should start off with listening to?

  • @passerby25 I really like Fate.

  • One of my band mates has been throwing out Dr. Dog covers as ideas for the last week... how the HELL did I not know about this band??? I've been an MMJ fan for a VERY LONG TIME and been to MANY of their shows over the last 10 years or so...I guess I totaly missed them bringing these guys along... Huh, who knew!!!!

  • Spin moves.

  • I hear the Flaming Lips but I think even more-so Lou Reed's 'Walk on the Wild Side'

  • no not the honika song... that song i wanna grow old with you also by adam sandler

  • @iknowcrapwheniseeit1 there is no way you werent high when you wrote that

  • This song kidas reminds me of the honika song srry i missed spelled really bad

  • @LaurieMaemura it is when your listening to dr. dog :)

  • Lovely song, I covered it! This song deserves like millions of views. Dr. Dog is really a gem.

  • Comment removed

  • great song,i love it <3

  • Wow! For so many years in my childhood I went here to the Holiday Skating Center in Delanco! Memories of a Great Childhood living the Willingboro Life Style!

  • this sounds a lil like windmill

  • this song is awesome beyond belief!!! but... why the hell is the music video of old people rollerblading?? im kind of hesitant to show this to my friends because of well the abundance of oldies skating around the band.

  • 17 people were so amazed by this song, they stumbled forward quickly to tap "LIKE" that they actually fell and instead clicked: "dislike". These same 17 people immediately made new accounts just to change their vote, that's how distraught their thought process was after this mistake.

  • @GrooGrux86DMB My thought exactly.

  • @GrooGrux86DMB they all thumbed your comment up in agreement.

  • @GrooGrux86DMB this comment has 17 likes

  • @GrooGrux86DMB just when I thought I couldn't hate those stupid, unoriginal, mal-creative comments that shouldn't exist anymore, you surpassed them all.

  • @MegaManOLantern My comment is buried under 6 pages of comments? Did you really spend your day going through them all just so you could pick one out that you didn't agree with an call the person out on?

;) You're a funny Troll, thanks for the laugh. Now go back under your bridge.

  • @GrooGrux86DMB word?

  • Dr. Dog sounds like Mark Minelli vocally.

  • @canucktheclown or David Bowie

  • @alvids333 Not really...

  • @canucktheclown they you must not be into the young David Bowie

  • @alvids333 Again, this doesn't sound anything like David Bowie.

  • @canucktheclown that's your opinion, but i have a feelin you're not to familiar with the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars

  • @alvids333 Still no. David Bowie's voice is feminine. Dr. Dog's or Mark Miniell's isn't. I have a feeling you are not familiar with Mark Minelli.

  • @canucktheclown i'm not disagreeing that they resemble Minelli, i'm just also pointing out they have traces back to early Bowie, and if you can't see that, or hear it rather, that's just you i guess

  • amazing live

  • its good but this song is amazing live

  • Saw these guys in Brooklyn last night, at the Williamsburg Waterfront.. they opened for Bright Eyes. What a great concert! had an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline directly behind us..as well as an awesome sunset ha. These guys are a very good band. What a great time!!

  • The beginning reminds me of the song She don't use Jelly by The Flaming Lips

  • @NorwegianWeed I thought the saaaame thing. lol...I saw these guys for the first time in 2006 at The Tabernacle in ATL. They opened up for The Raconteurs and the singer ended up right beside me in the crowd. Pretty smashed, but fantastic none the less..

  • @LaDyTrOn85 You're so fluffin' lucky ! I won't be able to see them until they're famous enough to come to Europe. A lot of bands I like are indie-bands from the US that only do concerts there. Sucks.

  • @NorwegianWeed

You're to late for that, saw them in amsterdam - netherlands last year, they're already famous enough to have a tour in europe ;) By the way, it was awesome!

  • @wglijnies So they've already been in Europe ? I guess I missed that ;( Hope they're coming back anytime soon ! I'll still have to travel to see them, they probably won't come to Switzerland...

  • @NorwegianWeed was that an insult? because that song sounds nothing like this song.

  • I'm going to see him in Orlando one November 12th, heyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

    Can't wait.

  • he looks like dudley from royal tennenbaums

  • neil young?

  • he kinda looks like a dog?

  • sounds like a mix between neil young and the flaming lips

  • is it awful that all i can think of right now is the "help, i've fallen and i can't get up." commercial?

  • I think ive found my second favorite band ever...second to the beatles. Obviously

  • love this song

  • why am I just finding out about these guys?

  • @locojohnston Agreed

  • (L) DECOUVERTE

  • i am in love with this song. does anyone else find this video a bit awkward to watch? not the kind of awkward that you're ashamed of but more of the funny kind of awkward

    ya kno' ahaha.

  • SEXY MAMAS ALERT AT 2:15

  • Why do so many people think they sound like Flaming Lips. I listen to both bands and i really dont think so...Flaming Lips is psychedelic and this way more 60s pop

  • It's Shuffle Time!

  • Loved it, looks like Flaming Lips.

  • i love songs that remind you of a memory.

  • Dr. Dog rules. Enough said.

  • this song reminds me of flaming lips <3

  • like this if you thingk dr.dog is a shadow person xD

  • @gabefreedom1 the sound is called indie

  • @tnbmxer13 indie is not a sound, hipster.

  • @msB00sh

Yes it is. It's a sub-genre of alt rock that emerged in the 80's. Why don't you learn a bit about music before posting ignorant comments.

  • @TraceurRyuk 'Sound' and 'Genre' are different things. Sound refers to, well, how something sounds; the singer's voice, the guitar, the drums, bass, whatever, how it all works. Genre refers to the category the music is placed under depending on what conventions it fits to in society. Sound and genre are not the same. Sound is the artist's expression. Genre is the box the audience places them in.

  • @giesth98 Are you a girl or a guy.

  • amazing

  • Good Song!

  • i love their sound! its so unique!

  • @GabeFreedom1 Best part is they have like 2 unique sounds. There's this dude's sound, then there is the other lead singer. Great band.

  • @GabeFreedom1

Not that unique. They're along the same lines as the Flaming Lips and Build to Spill. Good stuff, though.

  • beautiful

  • i love dr. dog

  • the rollerskating couples are adorable :D

  • I have frequent sleep paralysis and I see the shadow people during it. I've always wondered where they go. Terrifying. Look it up.

  • This music is just...good.

  • @PublicCarnival meets sam rockwell

  • For the first five seconds, it reminds me of the song "She Don't Use Jelly". Not sure why. It's a thousand times better though. I love this song!

  • "I saw a band playing the basement" Shoutout to Columbus, Ohio ;)

  • @haberweasle It's a Philly shout out, I believe.

  • @haberweasle It's a Philly shout out, I believe.

  • 10 people don't know what music is

  • @GoodSelfBand make it 11 bitch ,,lol

  • @GoodSelfBand 590 people know exactly how I feel right now...How bout that for a change?

  • used to play hockey at that rink!

  • Philly style .......... remember where you came from fellas

  • these guys are gonna be in chapel hill nc tomorrow and i am so psyched

  • Great song, great sound. Voice sounds like Daniel Johnston though. He even looks like a young version of him.

  • where can i download them???????

  • @sk8ob itunes

  • great band, really. It doesn't get any better than this.

  • Deffinite re-incarnation of billy the kid.

  • Just stumbled across this video tonight and I've heard of the name Dr. Dog but i have never listened to them.... this song if fucking awesome.
