Is there any advice to give on how to practice these kinda things?

(Yes, i'm still an intermediate drummer)

  • @punkrockdrummer1990 The heads aren't blue. They are clear. But thank you.

  • @flicky76 Hahaha "But thank you." If he knew it was a vistalites they are transparent with a blue tint. I personally love this kit with it's warm hit to every stroke. I own a Ludwig Green Sparkle Zep Accent kit. Love Ludwig, and Bonham. I love all your videos and setups!

  • @punkrockdrummer1990 HAHAHA! xDDD

  • @punkrockdrummer1990 don't use electric drum kits they ARE cheap

  • @punkrockdrummer1990 The heads aren't blue, friend. They are see through. Only the see through drums are blue.

  • I might buy the hydrolic heads when i need some new ones. Any body use em besides this dude?

  • I have been using Remo Clear Ambassadors and they are nice heads. I have a 12" abd 14" mounted toms and they sound really good on 'em. Nice and bright..

  • I wanna dance right now =]

  • hey i was wondering if i could convert a 13 by 10 rack tom into a floor tom?

  • YEAHHHH... And then get a 10 x 7 rack, a 16 x 14 bass, and a little 12" snare. That'd be shweet! =)

  • sweet thanks :D

  • hahaha a 13x10 rack tom would not make a good floor tom :p

  • Real nice, has a big band feel to it.

  • THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • nice

  • SWEET DUDE

  • what kind of drum heads you using?

  • These are Remo CS (Controlled Sound) heads. Otherwise referred to as black dots.

  • You are insane! That was awesome

  • I need some advice...Im about to get a new kit. My current one is wood. I really want some vistalites, but i dont know if i should, because i hear they can crack. How often do they crack? I guess im trying to say, how long until they crack? PLEASE SOMEONE RESPOND

  • Mine are from the seventies. I have not cracked them, and I have taken them out to gigs and I play them a lot. one of my floor toms had a crack that the fellow who owned the set before me had fixed. The repair has held up perfectly well. I wouldn't worry too much about the cracking. Like I said, except for that one instance, mine have no other cracks, and I have two bass drums, threee toms, and two floor toms.

  • sexy

  • awesome mate ! an old school solo that really stands and groove !

  • great work man, excellent, what are you doing on the floor toms? as far as the beat, like a paradiddle? or something different?

  • nice job man

  • u rock

  • Fun to watch! Definetly got me interested in getting a set of vistalites again. Its fun watching your videos - inspiring! Especially the Krupa/Bonham mix. More please.

  • 5 stars.

  • "Sing Sang Sung"

  • First time i see bleu skins! Nice play

  • They're not blue, the drums are hence giving the mostly clear heads the appearance of being blue.

  • Oh its true lol

  • their clear skins but they look blue because the drum shell is clear blue , i just figured tht out lmao i thought they were blue aswell

  • nice sounding kit

  • EXELLENT and a really nice colour aswell!

  • jene krupa style!!

  • cool!!!! it´s a vintage drums and cymbals???

  • Vintage drums, not cymbals. New Paistes. 2002 series.

  • Are Controlled Sound Remo Heads good?

  • in my opinion yes. i don't have them yet, but from what i've heard and seen, they last a long time, are really loud, and have brilliant attack.

  • That was sick. Can you tab that shit? :P

  • A joy to watch!

  • that was bloody great! great krupa tom feel!

  • Great job I really enjoyed that!

  • what drumkit is that its gr8?

  • Ludwig...Greatest Drum Copney ever.

  • Hey my floor tom is a way out of tune any idea on a good way of tuning it and getting it to sound anyway the same as yours? Great jam by the way!

  • what kind of heads are those?

  • Remo CS (Controlled Sound) Black Dots.

Just like Bonham used on his Vistalites.

  • Remo!

  • This was pretty sweet..i love doing stuff like this..

  • That is called an "L-arm". You can find them on ebay, but they are a little rare . . .

  • dude what is that kind of stand called when it attaches a cymbal off center but on your bass drum

  • Very nice. Been copying this. Thanks.

I need to know how you tune your green sparkles in the "Green sparkle ludwigs!" clip. I'ver got a vintage (1976) set of L's I'm setting up. What skins do u use and what's the relative tension top vs. bottom. Thanks again for sharing your Ludwig collection -- and your drumming skills!

  • Well, the green set has Remo Amabassador coated heads on top, and medium clear Ludwig heads on the bottom. I try to keep the tension relatively the same, though a tad tighter on the bottom heads. Also, I occasionally use a DrumDial (if you don't have one, get one!) to help keep the tension even. It measures timpanic pressure (so it says . . . )

  • If you get a DrumDial, it has a guage, and I set the rack to about 77-78 (not quite sure how to categorize the units) and the bottom to about 80. The Floor tom is close, though a bit lower. I hope this helps!

  • thanks

  • Is that stool a pork pie?

  • No, it's totally a custom made thing back from when I was a kid. It's just an awkward stool from my dad's garage that he had upholstered for me and I've kept it all these years.

  • amazing stuff

    love those Vistalites

  • Man, you got it goin on Daren! The kit looks fantastic.I dig the fact you USE that 18" ft

    Kev
