i read somewhere that it sound similar because vietnam and canton use to be in the same region then the han chinese came in and after a series of attack, we kind of broke a part and had to fled west where modern day north vietnam use to be. one of the viet rulers vowed to saved our brothers from han chinese rule but he died and future rulers didnt share the same idea.
