Someone doesn't know how to load an ATV or bike.

Why isn't the rear of the truck in a ditch or a curb, or otherwise lower than stock level? Why is it placed on such a surface that makes the ramp and "driving" angle steeper? It makes it much easier to load things and reduces the ramp angle considerably.

Why isn't the second person standing there gawking at things with a camera over there helping; cameras can safely sit unattended.

Why is the bike running? Why is the key in? Why is it in gear?!!

Happened to my brother a month ago, his wooden ramps broke, and the quad went straight up and landed on top of him upside down, i rushed over and lifted it off, it was a A/C 650, alot bigger than that yamaha that landed on poor charlie, he was ok, a few scrapes, luckily he was still wearing his helmut.

People make this mistake all the time, Line the ramps up, back up, give it gas, go up the ramps at a decent speed, let off the gas when your back tire is halfway up the ramp, brake, strap it down.

The two most dangerous parts of the day are loading and unloading. Nobody, (not even me), wears a helmet to do it. I have seen three accidents loading and been involved in two myself. I think this accident was at least in part do to the ramps being to short making the approach to steep. straps obviously would have helped. It happens bud... keep riding.

Too fast and ramps on pavement..big no no ! Go slow,the weight of the atv will keep ramps in place in dirt or pavement. Make sure atv is in 4x4 Low gear, go SLOW !

OUCH! Had that happen to me once with a riding mower. One ramp kicked out when the mower deck caught the edge of the tailgate. Yes, the deck was up all the way. Learned 2 things that day. #1: always use those little cable thingies attatched to the ramps by hooking them up to the bumper on the truck. They keep the ramp from kicking out. #2: I should have use the ramps that have a slight upward curve to them. They are made for loading things with very low ground clearance like a riding mower.
