  • If rock & roll ain't NOISY, then why bother? SLADE knows how to get it done!

  • If it weren't sor Slade, Luger would never had been born. When Ivan and myself were in England we ran into Chas Chandler and he took us to the marquee to see them. At the time they were were wearing plaids, mixed with a tad of glitter. We hung with them for the rest of the week, One of the greatest Rock bands in the world. Shayne Harris, drummer for Luger.

  • I read in a Brazilian rock magazine that Slade was one of Joey Ramone's favorite bands. I also heard that Gene Simmons from Kiss loved the band.

Well, they're just the tip of the iceberg.

Millions of fans around the world love this band.

  • fantastic group best live act ever

  • amazing track...played this more than a side...very under rated band...this will get a re-issue one day...GREAT

  • Yeah, this is REALLY the best Slade track of all!!! To be slayed at maximum volume!!!

  • @45Vault YEP...LOUD ...FANTASTIC

  • surely one of our most entertaining rockers of all time, they had the lot, they made my life special for quite some time, legends,,,,,,,,,

  • This is my favourite Slade track.

It has some very clever production tricks in it.

  • What a brilliant band, i love em!.

  • This was my fave track.. more than Gudbuy t' Jane or Cum on Feel the Noize, etc... really powerful.

At the end of the 70s they had a hits of the decade kind of show for the New Year and they never even mentioned Slade.... it was completely gutted.

Slade were the bestestest ever group to appear on TOTP in the 70s. I just wish they could have been taken seriously enough to appear on The Old Grey Whistle Test. Now, THAT would have been something !!

  • me too,, great track, your comment is just my sentiment,,slade in most quarters were not taken too seriouse,,but they should have been,,theyre one of our finest bands ever,,, make no mistake,,

  • I was thinking about this... you know when you hear a song and you love it and you buy it and you play it over and over and over and over until you either get sick of it or your dad snatches it off you and breaks it in two? Well, I never ever stopped playing it over and over and my dad never got his grubby mits on it.

    Absolute classic

  • @kara1464 I still have this album, great group they will never fade, like others have done..

  • @kara1464 My mum hated Slade cos I hammered their tunes so much in my youth. She has seen the error of her ways and now likes them. : )

  • @crowhillian58

Hehe.... you converted your mum! Nice one ...x

  • @kara1464 I totally agree . i played dis track over n over dis iz da one n only Slaaaaaaade.

  • ONE OF THE BEST EVER!!!!

  • Awesome song! Thanks for posting.

  • one of the best bands of all time, loved em to bits, best years of my life, period

  • AWESOME album amongst a good many more including:

PLAY IT LOUD, ALIVE, OLD, NEW BORROWED AND BLUE, SLADE IN FLAME, NOBODYS FOOLS, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO SLADE, SLADE ALIVE VOL II.

  • Whats the best sinbad ? i never got into their albums at the time of the singles in the '70s but was always a fan of their singles ; is OLD NEW better than this one ? Ive not heard ALL of this one ! p.s. some say 'IN FLAME'

  • Hi, I think ALL the following albums are a must!!:

PLAY IT LOUD, ALIVE, OLD, NEW BORROWED AND BLUE, SLADE IN FLAME, NOBODYS FOOLS, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO SLADE, SLADE ALIVE VOL II... but, if I had to choose just 1 or 2 going by what you've said then...

'OLD, NEW BORROWED AND BLUE' and 'SLADE IN FLAME'.

  • Thanks buddy,i'm gonna buy those then for sure plus this Slayed one too !

  • in my opinion, the best Slade album; fine artwork, catchy songs, brilliant lead and backing vocals, raucous guitar sound, bombastic bass sound...a Chas Chandler masterpiece!

  • Personally I don't feel need Slade to wait for any further recognition; they knew they were good, I knew they were brilliant and the music speaks for itself. A one off band i grew up with, awesome live and I love it when the wife and kids are out and I can play it Loud. They never quite appreciate Noddy Holders voice, but neither did me mam. Without doubt the BEST live act ever.

  • One of the most underated bands in history. Shame on the music media for not recognizing this.

They were one of the greatest live acts I have ever seen.

This track is one of their best. Long live Slade! One day you will get the credit you deserve! Good on ya!

  • @gibbons

people on youtube are always saying this or that band is underated, but these band are famous, sold millions of records and influenced many others. what more do you want?

  • I personally think this album is a rock classic, that is far too forgotten because of Slade's early chart success, with Goodbye t Jane and Mama were all Craezee now. It also has other amazing songs like Look at Last Nite,I Don' Mind & Gudbuy, Gudbuy.

  • The funny thing about this picture is that Noddy Holder just looks like a quiet, unassuming guy to the side. You wouldn't think he was the one with this unique rock star shrieking voice!

  • Loved this album!

Listened to it at the library all the time when I was 10 or so..! Later came "Old new, borrowed..."

Some nice songs on that one too. And then "My oh My" came when i did my military service 83-84.. nice memories;)
