The Akaka Bill is reasonable as to the evaluation of Hawaiian lineage. It defines native hawaiian based on the 1920 Homestead Act; BUT it also makes allowances for direct linear descendents of those who would have qualified, e.g., their grandchild or child; a two generation positive evaluation by the commission to determine eligibility. Did one of your parents qualify? NO, did one of your grandparents? NO or YES? If YES you are in, if no, let those who are benefit according to direct lineage.
I don't know what the Akaka Bill means. It's too policital talk. But coming from us Hawaiian's perspective, it seems to be something bad. And if it is, I would not support it. If it's going to make our Hawaiian population worse then they already is, I would not support it.

This is Andre. Contrary to the video, I am not a critic of Keanu, in fact I appreciate his work very much and quote it often. I am disappointed that this video was set up in a way that gives the appearance of conflict between Keanu and myself. I disagree tho' that the AB is irrelevant. If it passes by manufactured consent there's no doubt, America will use it to argue that reconciliation has occurred, of course that won't be true but it will add another layer of shit for us to climb out of.

I agree their is a transitional process...but the Akaka bill needs to be rewritten to recognize us as a separate nation.
