  • Simply Cute

  • very nice reproduction of a great hit

    5/5 great voice btw

  • I forgot one thing: you should improve your articulation at some places. For example, sometimes you sing whole words with your teeth closed. It's very cute but not very professional :) Maybe increasing the loudness factor would get rid of this as it seems to me like you're trying to sing clean but not very loud, like one used to during cooking or vacuuming :) Afraid of neighbors? Don't be! Use your lungs, that's why they're there! :)

  • Im sure MaryAnne appreciates your great advice and expertise, and cant wait to implement it. NOT!!

Obviously, you dont know who you are you are talking to, or why she sings. I suggest you do more listening to all her videos, including her Ysabellabravetalk videos, and just enjoy her artistic talent, which she shares with others for free, in hopes she is helping others to become better. Then you will understand how foolish you look giving her advice which she cant use.

  • Hey, don't take it too seriously. I just heard she is making an album or something and thought to write my opinion about that. At least you should appreciate the number of words I put down here :) Peace, pal.

  • I mean gestures, not manners :) And btw it's really great that you show these classic songs to the younger generation. I mean those even younger than you :)

  • In some aspects, you remind me of the great Ella Fitzgerald: when she sang she was so over the clouds she turned every sad song into a happy one. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't sing the blues :) Alas, you don't have the range and power in your voice to be a great singer per se (altough studio equipment can help a lot as maybe gaining back those extra pounds as well :) but you have the looks and manners to match - I think you should try musical theatre. You're a great performer.

  • sooo classy and glamourous!11

  • That is fantastic. Never heard such a nice version of this. Got addicted to this through help of nice 'President Eden'. Sometimes, you just gotta shut him up. Those afflicted know what I'm talking about ^^ You just give the song real feel. Good job and on with it :)

    --Chunky

  • Thanks for a great version of a great song.

  • She is playbacking? Or w/e you call it?

  • You are a picture and you have talent for the layman. Get your arse in gear soon all it will mean 4ck all...you do deserve a chance!

  • I keep rewinding to 0:58 just to see that wink

  • I had this song stuck in my head all day so i finally tried to find the song and came across you.. You have a beautiful voice and im so lucky to stumble upon your page... ive been shuffling around your songs all day to keep me company... and i think ive listen to this one in particular 15 times already hahaha... well i hope thinsg are well and if you have an album with this kinda of songs I would love to own it ^_^

  • Brilliant ! She is realy an amateur ?

  • She's amazing. Does it matter where she starts her career?

    Great Job =)

  • Kinda sad. You're creating a fanbase on YouTube with videos where you stand in your bedroom (or livingroom, kitchen, whatever). You should really get a job as a singer, work on cafe's and stuff like that, and record that.

Assuming that you don't work on cafe's and bars already, which you might do.

  • Perfect I love this song

    Perfect

  • AMEN

  • Er... BeaUtiful. Missed an "u", hehe...

  • Beatiful, Miss! Keep it up...

  • Happened upon your video while looking for examples of this song which I am learning to play on my mighty tenor ukelele. Except for hair color, in this video, you look like a woman I was in love with 25 years ago. Same cheekbones, smile, laughing eyes,etc..I love your interpretaion and the bittersweet memories it evokes.Let me add to the compliments on your talent and beauty. Do you have a particular source for the music without vocals you use for accompaniment? Your selections are so diverse.

  • By the way, now im planning to buy a new computer just to be able to play the new Fallout 3 game. And i hope you voice is in it ;)

  • "A kiss to build a dream on" isn't in

    Fallout 3.

  • It's in intro Fallout 2 ;)

    Cute girl :o)

  • LMAO, i was just looking for this music because i started playing it again XDD

  • i am a nerd. I have spent most of my early adulthood playing computer game and loving it.

But it all changed when i played a game called "Fallout". It was new, it was original, and it had the best music. It was the first time i have ever heard Lois Armstrongs song "A kiss to build a dream on" and it stuck to me like glue. But ive always picture it with Loius Armstrong. But you have showened me that i was wrong :)

  • I subscribe and watch your other videos and accidentally I found this! You singing one of my fav songs. Great, thank You!

  • great song. i didnt actually know, that m. monroe is still alive:>

  • I will..

  • To the charming manipulator, if it was your intentions to get me smiling and happy it worked.

  • you are a classic beauty and have timeless grace and poise, audrey hepburn meets marilyn monroe with a bigger heart.

  • I clicked your video by accident. My first thought was "wow, she's adorable!" You also sing well this song I treasure. Have you sung "La Vie En Rose?" (If so, French or English version? Would/could you do both?)

  • And now Play Fallout 2! :D

  • hell yeah! :P

  • I love this song, thank you fallout2 tm for making me find it :) :D

  • Your voice is like sunshine - like beams of beautiful light that comforts the weary heart and inspires to greater things. I just cant think of words adequate enough to say how beautiful you sound! Do you have a CD I can order?

    Delighted in Australia

  • ummmmmmmmmmm is that ur real hair cuz u look totally 50's

  • Wow! You not only sing well, but you have great stage presence - it is believable all the way through. No, you are not like Louis Armstrong - he is very good, to be sure - but you did a great job.

  • is that your real voice?... wow.

  • Cute..

  • Amazing !!!

  • Wow!

  • haha i like your instrumentation in the middle

  • Beautiful - the song, the singing, and the singer. Bravo.

  • flawless, a beautiful song by a even more beautiful woman. Nice look too.

  • nice lip synchin

  • HAHA Your trumpet attempt made me giggle

  • Ysabella !!! LOL !

    Lovely job once again .

    Your buddy, Dave

  • There are some outstanding talents in the world showbiz hasn´t discovered yet, indeed. You can feel the song.

  • Preeety girl!!!! xD, very nice, wanderfull

  • Hmm...Good...Louis Armstrong is the best

    1.Elvis

    2.Armstrong

  • nice...but i cant help think about louis armstrong when i hear this..

    cant beat the man imo

  • reminds me fallout :))

    nice ;-)

  • My sister is having her wedding in three weeks, and this is the song she will be dancing to with her new husband! This is just as good as the original, and if this was on CD I'd have reccomended it to them ^_^

  • Not only are you beautiful but you are very talented. An outstanding version of a song that was performed long before you were born...I love it!!!

  • Very impressive! You've got the goods, without question. You should find your way to some A&R people w/the record companies, or make your own CD. A beautiful performance! Good luck!

  • Louis Armstrong is the best, there's no doubt about it, but your version is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!!!!!

  • I can't believe how phenomenal you are lady. Why the hell are you not an international superstar with a voice and looks like that? :o) XxX

  • great talent!

  • just lovely :)

  • Love love love this song, thank you!

  • ei, vc fala português!!!!!!!!! Que legal! E seu nome é MaryAnne!!! risos. beijos do Brasil.

  • hahah, you´re so funny! great talent! kisses and dream with you from Brasil!

  • You're a dream! =]

    Belle song, belle voice, belle!

  • Great video! I love the classic jazz tunes that you've focused on! Besides, until now, I haven't seen a GREAT sultry, sexy torch singer impression since Jessica Rabbit! It's about time some one got it spot on! HooRAH! Thank you! (Are you ready for stardom?)

  • Shamelessly flirtatious! ;-) wolf1750

  • u r so cute and if it`s your voice you are very talented ... but the air trumpet :(

  • nice voice and pretty too.

  • Its like Marylin Monroe woke up in 21 century hehe:) cool

  • Wow! Sounds soo good! And you kinda look like Alyson M. from Disney channel. just thought i should put that out there.

  • So classy!

  • its good nice job:D!

  • I love this song anyhow, but it always great to see it's still going strong!

  • You seem to have a sense of humor, which is always good ;-)

    Wolf

  • o i love ur voice.

it's sounds like the 60's and noone sounds like that anymore.

    i love it.

  • wow u look like maryln munroe. :)

  • wow

    this is really gorgeous!

  • you're back from your trip!

  • so hey what's up, you wanna go out sometime?

  • Wohoo! I think this is really cool.

  • I like your hair. It really matches the song...

well done, like all your other vids.

  • great 'n shes is so beautiful

  • Superb, as always. Fred, get a grip- you're certainly no Willy Nelson, though you're obviously trying.

  • you have a voice as smooth as silk

  • Well, I personally like it a lot and the dress is beautiful. You make the world a happy place. : )

  • i love this song. your dilivery was phenomenol. you got the goods toots.

  • Fred, I hate to disagree, but to my ears, MaryAnne's pitch is dead on. When was the last time you cleaned that 8-track anyway? :D

  • Well I still fell its a poor attempt to imitate marilyn monroe which as we all know couldnt carry a tune in a bucket !!

  • Just because she has blond hair doesn't mean she's imitating Marilyn. You're letting that influence you. She doesn't sound like Marilyn at all.

It's like when you're a kid, and they do that thing where they give you a piece of vanilla cake dyed red or green or blue, and you think it tastes like cherry or lime or blueberry.

  • Yeah, and I'm sure the dress, red lipstick, mole, and musical stylings have nothing to do with the comparison either.

But honestly, I have never understood the attraction to Marilyn Monroe until now. Good job!

  • I was only listening to the voice and interpretation, and I could not tell she was not a pro until she broke up a little. Technical stuff would come with a little money or a friend to help. However this lady has good pipes and knowledge of how a jazz singer plays with words and phrasing. And she has the looks you would love to have at your side walking into any room...

  • Hola, Ysabella. thanks for the historic information about the born of this wonderful song. i like your old jazz classics performances very much.

this little spot near your mouth, is it real? i think its real. and makes you still more beautiful.

    a smile from Europe.

  • sorry :( I thought I was affirming you. clumsy.

  • Thanks for writing the history for this song. Love that behind the music info. Now I wonder where it might fit into A Night At The Opera. Think I'll pop in the dvd and find a nice spot to turn down the sound and play this over the top. Maybe when the ship is sailing away. Fun!

  • This is absolutely beautiful, her expressions, the sound of her voice. A great job done to a classic song!

  • binka21, where is she suppose to look? And, after all she is performing a song her own unique and lovely way before the whole world at no charge to you. And, she doesn't have to try to be cute; it's her natural beauty you are watching. And, if you are dissatisfied, no one is forcing you to watch her videos. And, obviously, you haven't seen any of her own ORGINALS, which she wrote, produced, and performed free for you. And, she is a very nice person inside. And, be nice, if won't hurt you.

  • actually i agree with both of you, I think she's got great body language that sells the song well. However, the camera is stationary so it all seems kind of awkward and out of place, if she'd get a friend to film her and change the scenery a bit (permitting acoustics of course) I think it would satisfy binka21 and greatly enhance the view.

  • Wow! Wow! and WOW! Wonderfully done - as always! I do not know if you are thinking of someone when you sing love songs, but if you are, that person is incredibly fortunate. Thank you for sharing another amazing performance of another beautiful song.

  • I've got goosebumps!

  • muy buena version, desde argentina

    great performer!!!!

  • You are Amazing, and I love this song.

  • oh my goodness, this is lovely...it's like being transported back a good few years!!

  • you go girl!

  • cool :) classic song

  • "The best revenge is massive success." Frank Sinatra

  • One of the best songs Louis ever sang. Could you do "Two To Tango"? It's another great classis by Mr. Satchmo...

Oh, now I'm wishing songs, but I just wanted to say:

"THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC, YSABELLA!" ...your Cannel is great!

  • Beautifully sung :) love that :)

  • I believe you are the moron.

  • How can she be lip-synching? If you look at all of her other videos, you can tell it's that it's the same voice. Now she must be pretty talented to find a singer who has sang everything from a 1928 tune to "Let's go crazy" or a Norah Jones song. Not to mention the orginals. Now that's pretty lucky.

Or, she could actually be this talented and be singing these songs for real. I'm gonna go with the second option.

  • The real american idol!!

  • I love the fact that you really made this song your own. Your voice is fantastic!

  • oooo, this is one of my fave songs. You have a beautiful voice. I like how you have fun with the song as well. And to me thats what music is about, having fun.....conjuring emotions in your listeners. Nice, very nice

  • you make me think of Roxy in Chicago... but you're way better than her =)

  • You are sweet:)

  • I really wish she was on the radio, tv, and in stores so I could buy a CD!

  • I was singing this myself yesterday as I drove home from work. Love you, Maryanne. You are the best!!!!

  • may i have the courtesy of taking u out on a date?

  • a reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe...

...her face not her voice. lol

  • Very impressive - excellent way to get noticed. How many millions of total video views does she have? Success to the point of a curiosity...

  • Very nice. Am I a fan or not? Don't know.. Just once in a while come back to check your new songs..

  • I like this look...you rock!

  • Very nice.

  • good music!!!!!!

  • ..what a dream!~ A muse by the name of Ysabella Brave~

  • I'm copletely stunned and speachless.......

  • prezmekgrabowski,

That is a typical reaction of someone who has just discovered MaryAnne. Please take the time to review her body of work and you will most likely become addicted to her many and varied talents as the rest of us Bravers are. I can't imagine anyone so down on life that they can't find soething to love about what MA does for us out of the generous goodness of her heart. There are many who think she is an angel in disguise. I wouldn't argue with them, they may be correct.

  • I am addicted already

  • omg, i'm so addicted too.

    she's amazing!!

  • Ah my favourite song, and your are doing it so well. Nice.

  • Słucham ją,jest dobra,ale nie słychać o Niej.

    Te " orginal"do kitu!!nie zrobi NIC.

    Stay Baby on the classic!!

  • Beautiful voice and a beautiful talanted lady. You look like a younger version of the beautiful actress Arlene Martel. Bravo Thank you so much.

  • Combo of Monroe, Loren and Betty Boop. Adorable and tremendously talented. Should have a T.V. Show or be in Vegas!!! Fabulosa!

  • and IMHO of Audrey Hepburn (Yasbella got her charm and cuteness)

  • You are SO CUTE! hehe =P

  • stunningly beautiful.

  • You have an absolutely lovely voice. I've loved this song for years, since I heard it in the intro to one of my favorite computer games: Fallout 2. This song hits a soft spot with me, and you definitely did it justice.

By the way, you look gorgeous singing this song: like you're sincerely having fun. Your hair looks fantastic, too.

  • I wish there was an mp3 version, your voice is just so soothing (not to mention a rendition living up to that of Armstrong).

  • This song is so adorable. I love this side of you!

  • Well done - one of my favorites.

Your phrasing is different than the Armstrong version - a little too on the beat. But this is a fine point...

  • You should have a fantastic recording contract. You enthrall - with voice, eyes, looks, everything's so perfect about your so-called stage presence. I think it's great that you're just being you!

  • I adore the older songs- they are WONDERFUL! Great job!

  • There is an old soul locked up in that body of yours.Good tune and you pulled it off very well Ysabella.(applause)

  • you're like the second patsy cline or marilyn monroe....When you sing these songs that actually show your talent =)

  • Love the choice of songs, the older stuff... but I like you better with the darker, straight, long hair. XXXXOOOXOXOXOXOX

  • I love you! ;)

  • Kisses blown r kisses wasted.kisses rnt kisses unless they r tasted.kisses

spread germs and germs r hated.but u can kiss me baby im vaccinated

  • have you not got a record deal yet? your voice is so original,i could sit listening all night

  • very gppd!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ysabella, there is nothing other to say about this video, other than "Absolutely Magical"...

    .....

    ....

You render me speechless. So beautiful...

    Even the end...

  • You are so cute. You should be singing out if your not already. That was great!!

  • Excellent!

  • I'm glad such a good song wasn't wasted used in a marx bros film. It just wouldn't fit. I enjoy the classic movies that had songs to break up the scenes. good stuff

  • Yours has become one of my favorite channels. I love your rendition of songs from the golden age of cinema and cabaret, vaudeville, etc. You would have been right at home on the B&W screen and being chauffeured around in a Deusenberg wearing a fox stole. What is your source for knowing about these old show tunes, and where do you get the music tracks?

  • you are sooo beautifull

  • WOW! You can sing songs from any era and make them great!

  • Okay fans..lets get Maryanne on the Tonite Show with Jay..he always shows neat things on utube..write a letter to Jay at The Tonight Show 3000 W. Alemeda St., Burbank, CA, 91523..dont you think she'd be great with the band..yea !!!

  • Your back !! You really look like Marilyn, the color and cut of your hair and beautiful lips. Would you please do "Roxy" from Chicago or one of those Jazz songs. Get a black derby and a pair of lacy black gloves and sing your heart out. the sexy moves you make are just as good as dancing...by the way I can sing like Satchmo because I had neck surgery and sing a high note anymore.. please do more of these oldies !! Suzy
