  • Why isn't the sun moving? =p

  • @krawc0 This video is from 2 years ago. Please see our more recent videos: TUlBnQHlvh8

or search for it by name: Gnostaria Alpha 2 T3D Demo Level Teaser

  • Are you able to make an entire game world with this or do you need 3DS MAx or Gaia or such - and how much C++ do you need to master? I'm guessing Torque is just a small part of the equation?

  • What engine is this?

  • o.o Its 'Torque Game Engine Advanced' which recently became "Torque 3d". If you google it, it says on the pre order page: Previous versions of Torque 3D (TGEA) are included with purchase.

  • This video was made using a modified version of TGEA (Torque Game Engine Advanced). Gnostaria is currently being ported over to the new Torque 3D engine.

  • Wow, how you made this? :O

  • what is the music's name?

  • The music in this video is stock music and not part of the Gnostaria sound track.

  • nice...looking to be an amazing game

  • Outstanding! Is this multiple skyboxes?

  • The day / night system is achieved with a combination of effects, transitioning between multiple sky boxes being one of them. We also modify the color of the fog, modify the ambient color of the sun and directly modify how dark or light the terrain is.

  • Looks fantastic!

  • Woah! The competition is complimenting your game! xP

  • No doubt... Their work's superb. Looking forward to seeing more.

  • Roger that. And same for you RealmLords.

w00t! Cheers to Indie Developers World-Wide!

  • @gnostaria PLEASE MAKE SOME TUTORIALS

  • Thanks anyways.

  • Wow o.o

  • Looks great! I mean it, i like the smooth transitions especially when you made the sky sort of redish durin the night

  • Looks awesome.

I'm trying to implement a similliar effect to my Torque Game Engine based game. Currently I'm adjusting sun.SetFieldValue("elevation", 0) with a timer, but I don't know how to apply the field.

When I open world editor it gets automatically applied. Help? :)

  • You can directly access the sun elevation with sun.elvation and set it to what you want. After you make changes to it you can then call sun.apply(); to propogate the changes.

  • I think I've tried it, but it doesn't work in the non-advanced TGE.

  • I'm only familiar with TGEA so I can't comment on TGE. Someone may be able to help in the TGE forums.
