  • I looked at the vote count for this in the house of representatives and Dr. Paul voted FOR it? O,o I was suprised, why would he?

  • The Americans don't want to pay taxes for free healthcare, they prefer give money to private companies which will fuck them in the ass at the first occasion (who is stupid enought to trust a private insurance company???)

    It just shows how stupid the Americans are (and also so selfish).

    The Europeans/Can/Aus/NZ/Japs prefer pay a bit more taxes to be sure that they will be totally covered (no private insurances to fuck you, no need to pay 100.000$ for your care, everybody get healthcare).

  • I won't buy health insurance, I won't use doctors & if I need to I'll pay cash. I eat healthy and exercise. I know people who died from cancer and one who made himself well through nutrition against his doctors recommendation. No to ObamaCare. Our corrupt government will start forcing people to buy all kinds of crap. Next will be mandatory vaccinations against a fake diseases.

  • Car insurance argument is total bullshit. No one forces you to drive. The insurance requirement is to protect others from you. So you are required to at least cover other persons expenses, whether you pay for your own is your own problem. Health insurance should also be YOUR OWN PROBLEM, not everyone Else's.

  • @crazieeez Are you slow? If you drive you need to get insurance because it guarantees when YOU hit SOMEONE ELSE, the other persons expenses are paid for. That is why the minimum collision is going to cover the other persons expenses and not your own. And no people are not forced to buy care insurance because if you don't drive you don't pay it. Now if you want to drive, then you are forced to get car insurance for other people on the road NOT YOU. How are you not getting this?

  • People I'm from Portugal, we pay 140 euros per month of social security in the minimal wages salary(wich is 470 euros), our bosses have to pay that directly do the government but private company s gives a health insurance for about 30 euros, I've never user my social security card because these national hospitals sucks, and if you really need anything you have to wait years. what do ou think about that?

    I can tell you that I've lost members of my family because of the inadequacies of that bloated tax-funded voting-block known as the NHS. Statistically, and anecdotally, the standard of service is far from satisfactory in the British NHS. So much so that the private health industry has started to boom, with lower insurance premiums and everything, even though its customers still have to pay for the NHS. That alone says a lot. "Freedom = death"? Work for the NHS, do we? Dick.

    Under the American cartel system, people die because they can't get the medical care they need, or the insurance companies wriggle out of paying. There are thousands of cases, well documented.

The point is, since the UK's National Health Service, the single largest employer in Europe and third largest in the world servicing a country of 45 million people still has to rely on the private system to meet the needs of the people, then it would seem that the NHS is a failure.

You will get paid only pharmaceutical products. In addition, this program is the first step, how you will impose on Codex Alimentarius. So you lose the freedom on the choice of food.   • A little more than seven years ago I was diagnosed with a certain type of psychotic disorder. The same type that my mother had. I thought that my life was over because I would never have a chance to do all the things that normal people would do. In the intervening years I have been able to receive help with medications that have been able make it so that I can live a good life.Although by one estimate it will end up costing more than $3 million dollars for drugs for the rest of my life.

  • Unfortunately that means that I will be dependent on government welfare for the rest of my life because I would never be able to receive any type of private insurance.  When this health care legislation was passed I realized that now I can go out in to the world and get a job at any company that offers private insurance. Now a private company cannot declare me ineligible because of preexisting conditions. I now have hope that I can go off of any type of government welfare.

To me health care is a right, and for all of those people who are diagnosed with a disease that cannot be cured. But with medication can still live a good life.   • You have to buy car insurance if you CHOOSE to drive. But having to purchase insurance just because you're alive is a little different. Who's spreading lies. You need to check the 10th amendment. States have rights so that the Federal government doesn't overstep their power, which is what Thomas Jefferson was afraid of.

HOWEVER, in the vast majority of states, you cannot purchase insurance across state lines. As per the law, health insurance cannot be a part of interstate commerce.

    That's different, that's a STATE requirement. AND it is a requirement meant to protect other people from being harmed by a driver (with no money to pay what they owe). Forcing someone to buy something for themselves they don't want is ridiculous.

    The constitution severely limits the power of the fed. govt. but gives the states great power to create the laws their constituents want.

  • @svenp whether people have money or not, they're still forced to purchase insurance if they drive. I've never had an accident, just a mirror torn off by a drunkard. my insurance wouldn't cover it, although I paid a lot of my monthly income. the same is the case with my health insurance: although I pay from my monthly check, I still have to pay for examinations, not to mention getting ill. shouldn't I get back what I put in?

    I'm thinking out loud, but money is the problem, one way or the other.

  • @meh734 I'm not saying that I agree with being forced to buy LIABILITY car insurance (for the other guy, not you), but it IS the state's right under the Constitution to do that.

    I prefer NH policy, they don't require you to buy auto insurance at all.

    RP thinks that people should pay for health care out of pocket, at least for all the small stuff. I agree. Costs would come down and you wouldn't need to buy insurance except for catastrophic coverage. Everyone would save A LOT OF MONEY.

  • Actually many states don't require everyone to carry auto insurance. If you have enough net worth to self-insure then you are not required to carry insurance.

    If your insurance wouldn't cover the mirror being torn off then you should be looking for a new insurance company.

    In most cases it wouldn't be worth claiming. Either your deductible would end up covering most of the cost. Even if you have a 0 deductible your rates would probably go up more than the cost of repairing the mirror.

  • requisite insurance is NOT "ok", consitutionally. a nation full of people driving cars they can't afford would collapse financially if people weren't forced by the state to get insurance (what if private property rights were still intact?). there would be a vehicle bubble, everybody would have to take the bus... it's a law that protects the hyper-consumer lifestyle we lead, and it contributes to the policies that absorb and transfer our wealth to massive foreign entities...

  • Becuase you do not have to drive a car. You have a choice; if you want the privilege of operating an automobile on public streets you need to provide insurance. If you don't want to buy auto insurance get a bicycle or use public transportation.

    The bill is unconstitutional because you have no choice once you are born. If you are breathing you pay.

    As for pre-existing conditions, why is it fair to burden others with the cost of that care that are healthy and do not require expensive health care?

  • Disappointed in Ron here. I agree we should repeal the insurance mandate, but the preexisting conditions is clearly a good thing for people, maybe not for insurance companies, but this government is supposed to be for the people, not big business. Want to talk constitutionality? Let's stop the war in Afghanistan first. At the very least stop the drone attacks which create more terrorist than they kill.

  • Napolitano needs to educate himself on the UK system. It does offer private health insurance options, it's just most don't use it or pay extra since they are already taxed for the universal system.

  • As much as I like Ron Paul, this video doesn't "expose" anything. A lot is said about "the bill will cause this" and "the bill will cause that" but there is no real information provided here that says what exactly it is that is in this bill that will cause or lead to such claims.

    Then we have Civil Courts for redress of any financial grievance you or a hospital may have.

  • And the health care bill that just passed is a complete letdown, by the way. Between the actions of Democrats and Republicans, it has now been pecked to death and there are only a few good things left in it. It still doesn't address the problem.

    It's also a handout to the insurance companies, who need to go out of business, not get more customers.

If anyone actually looks up the statistics they will see the difference between the two models. And Canada is NOT the best representative. France is a much better example, and yeah they have debt. So what? the US has a lot of debt for the same reason and some others. Like two wars for example. Whatever happened to priorities?

  • They won't get anywhere by bashing the Canadian health care system because it's a better functioning and cheaper system. So it works for a while until people actually look up the statistics and actually talk to someone who knows about these things.

    I'm politically much different from Ron Paul on domestic issues. It makes sense since I'm Canadian. I'm not enslaved, I'm not complaining about my health care. I get care in a timely and quality manner and there's no insurance company ruining my life.

  • Health is first of all in your food. By different spending, different and less eating America could get healthier. And spending less. So healthier people don't need coloured containers with all kind of expansive patented substances in it.
