@mediattackrecords Google: "the avengers penelope houston" & you'll find their official myspace page and penelope's site to find out what they're doing. No offical concerts dates at the moment from what I've read. Penelope has a new album on the way, by the way.
yeah. those were great days. what the fuck happened? you can't go out and see an exciting band anymore. i saw so many great bands between 78 and 81. did pay-tp-play just ruin everything? what?
one my ole pals found me dancing in this video...if you were there and knew me from that la punk scene in the late 70's please get in touch with me on fb....
Haha I used to get mistaken for Houston ages ago.I'm a guy(?!) and really never saw the resemblance. The Gun Club were astounding live.Saw them open for Siouxsie in '84,before The Banshees started sounding like an S.A.D, addled Enya.Saw Jeffrey Lee Pierce live 8 years later and he was a barely coherent train wreck. They ripped through"She's Like Heroin To Me",but it was still depressing.
I saw the Avengers every show they ever played in San Franciso. My favorite punk band then and now. Those were the best and wildest days of my life and I will miss them forever. Everyone now is so jaded and self-conscious and trendy.
Yeah, I shouldn't generalize. But I do think things are at their best when it's new and fun, before it gets popular and the more unoriginal people start thinking it's 'cool' and ruin it. I've seen that happen with all kinds of things. Popularity is the kiss of death.
Hi, I´m 42 and still playing in a Punk band and going to gigs. Nothing has changed for me since the days of seeing Jeffrey Lee Pierce or the Ramones. It can work, you know? Chhers, Gerd from THE VOODOO GODZ
We will never go away. Die Toten Hosen are great!!! Since I was living in Los Angeles in the late '70's, early 80's, I saw many, many great bands. Saw Gun Club a lot and the Ramones, too.
Astonishingly clear footage. Nice.

On the bass that's Jimmy Wilsey (ex-Chris Isaak guitarist of "Wicked Game" fame). Great clip.

Awesome footage of one of the most prominent and influential bands of Californian punk-rock.
The Avengers still rules! We need more Avengers material.
