Yeah it was an amazing experience watching this documentary, I also hope for those who didnt get to see it, it will come out on DVD. I would definitely go out and buy it. And for those who are wondering if it came out in the U.S, it did nd it was truly an eye opener. For both myself nd the rest of the world. ~GoD bLeSs~
it already happened...sorry but it was truly amazing and I really hope it comes out on dvd because so many more people that didn't see it NEED to see it
I don't really get what the objective of this thing is? Are some of the the proceeds from the documentary supposed to go to help these starving people in other countries or do they just show them suffering and then play Hillsong music in the background?
Haha...I get what you're asking...I thought the same thing too. But eventually I overlooked it and just continued to watch it. I really enjoyed it though..It brought tears to my eyes...very touching.
Oh, that's definitely a good thing. Everyone should be aware of what's going on in the world around them instead of blocking out third world countries or putting world poverty and hunger so far in the back of their minds that they never even think about the suffering that's going on. I just wonder where the $14.95 ticket price proceeds go. It seems rather hypocritical for Hillsong to make money off something like that.
After you take out the price of production, the hours and hours of video that needed to be sifted through from 2 years worth of film, marketing, and all the things like that the "profit" is hardly Hollywood film standard.
Which is more effective? Hillsong Church/Hillsong United doing all the work? or using their influence to inspire a generation to make a difference?
its something to help us to think, because truth is some of us don't know what's happening and some of us are unable to find out what's happening because of geographical differences (distance)
i believe it was made with the best of intentions...i don't speak for Hillsong but yes i believe that most of the proceeds will go to help the people, because that's the kind of church they are...
i'm pretty sure that some of the proceeds will go to help the people, i know this because that's the kind of church they are, they understand that it costs you something to follow Christ and that's how they live. I think they just want to open other peoples eyes through this movie
wow. seriously love this film. i have had the honor of traveling across the world sharing gods love. the people iv seen the memories iv experienced the places i have been... priceless. every time i look back at these trips i am reminded of time and time again of how blessed i am. thank you and god bless.
i'm not saying we should all go and die for some or other cause, but we should be at least willing to die for what we believe?
serving and loving comes at a great cost to us, that's what Jesus taught. Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him,we were His joy...
wicked man, "if we can only understand the one thing".
i find it quite common that us young people have this idea that since we r young we can't make a difference...not true. In South Africa during the segregation of the apartheid government, young people even kids, set out on July 14, 1976 and they literally laid their lives down, for the sake of freedom, not just them but for the next generation and then the next...
I dislike the way white people look down on those who they bring "mission" to. Im asian but my white christian friends who came back from mission trips treat me different than those who didn't... I don't get why they feel like they are the ones who have to make the great change.
I have nothing against christianity.. I am a christian. Its just a n annoying thing I sense.
Jimmy, I am sorry you feel that way. I think people going out of their way to do SOMETHING is better than people who sit on their ass and complain about them while they themselves do NOTHING. Christian, or not, someone who takes the time to serve the needs of others has my respect.
Well I pity you think that way. That was a terrible explanation.
I've been to mission trips before.. building houses, orphange, etc. I also volunteer at the MS every christmas, thanksgiving. When I'm not busy I'd go to old folks home.. Thats not sitting on my ass and complaining right?
Im just having a fit with how some christians have a stupid point of view in doing these "mission". They are so damn condescending.
Jimmy, calm down on the defensiveness. I wasn't talking about you. I don't even know you. My comment was not specfic. Read what i wrote again. It was vague (to all Christians that complain) and i guess you were complaining too which is annoying, but i didn't say that you sat on your ass. Although now i don't even think you have a point since you pretty much do the same thing that you are complaining about them. Be blessed...
Jimmy, I was born in Africa, a country considered one of the poorest in the world. This is the country that everyone thinks of when they want to mention poverty, so I know exactly what you mean. But you have to learn to let go of those feelings you have. Sometimes those feelings are: simply put: Pride. Pride makes the efforts that someone people do seem condescending, when in reality sometimes they are being honest and are overwhelmed by the poverty. God bless you, and pray about it.
i just wanted to say that what you are saying is not 100% truth man. i'm african, so i understand what you are saying, but to generalize and say that all white people are like this...i can't agree, i've met many white people who go on mission trips that do NOT have that kind of attitude, they go to serve and love...
aaah Jimmy,c'mon dude there's you don't have to be like that man...
i understand what your talking about since i'm from Africa and I've seen what you are talkin about, but they are not all like that, you can't generalise just because u had a few bad experiences, just pray for them man,ask God to open their eyes,so they understand what it is they are supposed to do.
I'm pretty sure Hillsong is not like how you say they are...
Apparently with the premiere in the USA and Canada there were a whole bunch of never-before-heard songs performed, so maybe it will be in there somewhere.
NOOOO!! Ahh im so upset right now. I live in California, USA, and this came out (for one night only) on November 4 and I thought it came out on the 18th so I MISSED IT!!! :( I was sooo looking foward to it!! wow. im gonna cry. I bet it was amazing :) God bless! xo

Hi lehlogonololuke
There is a part of the film that highlights the very event that you mention, the sacrifice of Hector Pietersen.
The film launches across South Africa from next Wed 18th Nov.....hope you can get to see it.

If it comes out on DVD I know I'm gonna be getting it.
