  • A macaroon has two biscuit sides with a cream filling, or similar. I'm sure these are delicious though.

  • can you make a video on how to make THE ORIGINAL Macaroon

  • Like ciconut can i replace it with something else?

  • I dont

  • Love macaroons

  • Comment removed

  • I MADE THEM! I MADE THEM!

They are just AWESOME! Simple, fast and yummy!

    Thank you!!!

  • I just converted the measurements. I'm going to make them. Wish me good luck =)

    Thanks for all your recipes!

  • your eyes are insanely blue, its awesome hahaa

  • Is it ok if I don't put the coconut... will it come out different?

  • you are great.!

  • chef what if i wanted to make full chocolate macaroons? do i just not use the coconut? does the coconut have any effect on the overall product of the macaroon?

  • chef i only have oven toaster... do you think i still can make this? anything with coconut is my favorite... :)

  • @talk2eunice I've never tried these in a toaster oven before - but as long as it can be cooked at the same temperature it should be ok :)

  • awww looks super yummy!

  • You're so inspiring :)

  • @ theonepotchef I made them but they turned water wat did I do wrong

  • @hummerdude123 I have no idea - I've never had that issue. Did you measure the ingredients correctly?

  • David, are you using unsweetened coconut? Here in the States we have the sweetened stuff in a bag or can (tin) or you buy a real coconut and grate the flesh which does have a different texture and is not as sweet. I'm going to assume the added sugar is for the coaco. :o) As always your videos are wonderful.

  • @Tonithenightowl I used unsweetened desiccated coconut ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow is the coconut necessary? i absolutely hate them but i really wanna try this recipe

  • @JuicyFruitQueen Coconut is one of the primary ingredient of macaroons, there really isn't a substitute. Maybe you would prefer one of my other cookie recipes ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow aw, ok :( that sucks lol but thank you. i love ur show

  • I recently moved into my new place and haven't had time to set up my wifi. Oh, how I've missed you!

  • @helloviolindonna Welcome back :)

  • Looks good.

  • i made them

    but they turned out watery

  • can I use milo instead of cocoa powder?

  • @vindalooforyou I've never tried it with milo, but you could give it a go :)

  • Do you guys think that there should be a DVD of the one pot chef with all his cooking video, Behind the scene, Deleted Scene, and Bloopers?

  • This recipe was so beautiful, I cried a little;) Mmmmm:)

  • Hmm, 3 people didnt think there was enough chocolate. :)

They look great. Might even give them a try.

  • sorry but those are more like cookies not macaroons ... still good recipe thx

  • No seriously I thought you were at least going to beat the finished batter! Wow - simple, easy and only one bowl to wash. Gotta love that one.

  • every time i wanna make something on the spot i always come to ur vids

  • I didn't dare watching this video, 'cause I knew I'd be super hungry.. I already was hungry, looking at the picture.. MEH!

  • To make a plain macaroon would I simply leave out the cocoa powder, and end up with a decent macaroon?

  • Are you using sweetened coconut or non?

  • @Ivanafla I used non sweetened dessicated coconut ;)

  • Are you sure you used only 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder? Didn't you use more than 2 teaspoons in the video?

  • @wjmortician I used 2 Teaspoons of Cocoa it looks like more because I had it in a cup (and it spreads very easily!)

  • This recipe reminds me of a swedish treat called "nigger balls" (yes, that's their name, no it's not racist, just traditional) where you mix oats, sugar, cocoa and butter into small chocolate balls and then roll them in coconut and put them in the fridge for an hour. It's delicious.

  • @GigaBoost Give me some nigger balls :D I want some

  • I thought that a macaroon was one of those small curved pasta tubes, like... one macaroon, several macaroni?

  • @GigaBoost No, macaroni is something different ;)

  • 2 teaspoons? it looks like more than 2 teaspoons/2 tablespoons.

  • @iateyourmama It was 2 teaspoons, it just looks like more because I had it in a measuring cup ;)

  • :3o <-- me eating a Macaroon

  • OMG I can't believe how easy and awesome this recipe looks!

  • That looks like more then two teaspoons

  • @StarsNraindropS I promise it was only 2 teaspoons - it looks like more because I had it in a measuring cup ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Hey, well I made these little treats yesterday and my husband loved them! they are so yummy!! Thanks for the great recipe!!

  • yum yum yum yum YUM.

  • Great!!!

  • Hey Chef, if you wanted to finish these off by re-coating them in more shaved coconuts, so they are covered, how would you go about making the coconut stick to the finished cookie?

  • @sSoloW I'm not sure why they would need more coconut on the outside, given they are made of coconut. You could brush them with a little melted butter, then dredge them in coconut - but it seems unnecessary ;)

  • Macarooooooooooooons, yuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

  • Loved the recipe, thank you.

Normally I like reading comments because people from everywhere are watching your videos. But sometimes people don't think before they send! I am sure you are quite used to it, and take all of this in stride.

  • @jillmdejesus The nice comments outweigh the nasty ones - so it doesn't bother me ;)

  • my god! they look delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is amazing, so fast, so easy and so delicious. Just like your caramel slice, fast and delicious. I'm totally making this :)

  • @lovetilyouhate I don't think they could be done in a skillet, as they really need to be baked. You could probably do them in a toaster oven if you have one ;)

  • this recipe seems really simple and tasty... I have to try it as soon as possible! :)

  • I really want to make these, your recipes are great and i've tried a few of them before but is there a substitute for the eggs used in this recipe? Thanks in advance, I made your butterscotch cookies the other week and loved them!

  • @nikitaaa11swift Not really, there really isn't any substitute for egg whites that would work with this recipe :(

  • @OnePotChefShow Ah well that sucks :/ But thank you anyway :]

  • Off to cook these now, thanks David! :)

  • all i have to say is this .. yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • I liked this video and I like the recipe, but David you need to go and get a pedicure, your nails are gross!

  • @bonez56 Firstly, I think you mean a manicure - a pedicure is for your toes. Secondly, I don't need a either - as I'm not a woman ;)

  • @bonez56 yes, yes you are right David, my apologies! I'm a guy too but I just saw your nails when you went to take a bite (try pausing it and have a look) there's all dead skin hanging off... I still love you though!

  • @bonez56 Well, if a bit of dead skin on my nails is the worst of my problems, I'll consider myself lucky ;)

  • I heart you lots and lots and lots for this dessert upload XD I LOVE it when baked stuff comes out of the oven and its so soft (then eventually it gets harder) but those first few minutes when its soft, steamy and (especially with chocolate of any form) melty.. its the BEST part of the whole baking process! Cant wait for another dessert upload ~

  • Love this! Wish I had the coconut so I could make it right now!!

  • @rachiibuu I was JUST thinking the same!

  • Now they look good.

  • i have never put chocolate and coconut together. definately something worth trying

  • Did you pour the egg whites out of a tim tam mug? I think we may be of the same mind.

  • @dentoncallander Yes, my Tim Tam mug is my "egg mug" - I use it all the time when cooking ;)

  • Does it works w/o coconuts??? I hate them. but I love choco...

  • @pamelaleungpam No, macaroons are traditionally made with coconut so it can't be substituted. But check out the many other cookie recipe videos on my channel - you're bound to find something you like ;)

  • ...your getting better all the time...thanks again...!

  • Yummy!! Can't wait to try it out:)

  • Another 5-ingredient recipe, YAY!!! So easy! Around here, the festive season's coming up, so I'll make plenty of these for my guests. Thanks!

  • As usual, another great recipe. I think I would further drizzle White Chocolate on top and perhaps press a cherry in the middle before I bake. That is a winner to me!!! Thank you so much..hugs from Rhode Island.

I have to send you my cookie video..or you can go on my site to view..

  • @lmdelsanto1 I loved your low carb chocolate cupcakes - especially the one with the whipped cream and strawberries - YUM!

  • Ooooh so lookin forward to tryin these out!!!!!!!!!!

  • David, is that sweetened coconut you used? Can't wait to make these! For myself chocolate & coconut are a match made in heaven!!!

  • @charmazingable I used regular dessicated coconut. It's not sweetened ;)

  • Yummmmmmmmmmmm!!! I'm going to make these! :D
