I can barely watch this video because of my slow broadband - about 768K speed average - and I pay $70 a month for that! That is all that is available in the country side here. If I lived in town I could get 3 meg speed for $35 a month. There is no competition.. I can't go to a different provider for better and/or cheaper service. I hope this Broadband initiative addresses problems like this.

To the democratics I voted for I make the following appeal: In order to make our economy more robust and our businesses more competitive please 1. raise interest rates to encourage consumers to save more which will also give banks more capital to lend out to businesses and 2. repeal the minimum wage back to the ‘06 level. I can barely watch this video because of my slow broadband - about 768K speed average - and I pay $70 a month for that! That is all that is available in the country side here. If I lived in town I could get 3 meg speed for $35 a month. There is no competition.. I can't go to a different provider for better and/or cheaper service. I hope this Broadband initiative addresses problems like this.

Unfortunately, most of those who would stand up and say "we really need this" currently have no voice in this discussion because they aren't able to get internet access where they are or cannot afford it do to hardships they are facing. This is agreat opportunity to offer a voice to these people as well as give them the resources to secure a job or acquire an education. This will give all Amerians an equal opportunity in our digital economy.

I do not promote wireless technology for in home use. I have a master’s degree (2011) in Computer Systems Security and I can tell you first hand that the only reasons Obama desires a wireless America is so law enforcement can LISTEN in legally. Wire your home and increase its value and secure your INFORMATION! Set up a home domain and a roaming profile on your laptop and ENCRYPT all your transmissions else your identity will be broadcast across the nation each time you connect to the internet!
