  • I really thought he would have won more after his breakthrough win at St Andrews.

  • Considering the size of him this guy hits it a mile, pound for pound the longest hitter in golf

  • this is a good golf swing..everything in his swing is so smooth and syncronized. All of his arm positions are great and his impact position is very solid as well

  • You said that Louis has a 21-7 and it was the same as hogan, what does that mean exactly?

  • @TheCydiaGuy101 21-7 refers to tempo, the number of video frames it takes for the club to move from address to the top (21), then from the top to impact (7). Most standard video cameras film at 30 frames per second, so each click of the remote measures 1/30th of a second. A 21/7 swing is fast tempo-wise, but the rhythm is a perfect 3/1. Average tempo is 24/8, while 27/9 (Els, Furyk) is slower. Check out the book "Tour Tempo" by John Novosel. Simple idea but great to measure tempo

  • @wdefrancesco I am reminded of Tom Watson when i see this swing. If he would lift his left heel in the backswing

  • Hi Wayne. Really like the brisk pre-shot routine based on trusting and not mechanics. Like the compact swing that I think is the way forward rather than long flowery backswings. Think your analysis is very interesting. Watched this video many , many times. Good work. David Marchant in Bath , England.

  • i'm definitely going to try and shorten up my preshot routine like louis after you pointed it out. less time standing over the ball and thinking. just swing it baby.

  • I watched him win at St Andrews.

Got a bit lucky with the weather on the second day but there were plenty of opportunities for him to blow it but played really solid for all four days.

  • Hi Wayne, love the analysis, thank you. I think I am finally beginning to understand what I am meant to be doing. Whether I can put it into practice is a different story.... Any chance you can do Trevino as I'd love to see a break down of his unusual but very effective swing

  • Graet video Wayne, I really enjoy your analysis. I wanted to make one comment - when discussing his swing movements I wonder if some of them are specific to the shot he was trying to hit. For example the clip from behind of an iron in to the 17th. Here he was hitting a sort of knockdown draw to pitch it short and run it up onto the green (almost a (very) long chip shot). Would this then explain why his right arm pops above the plane in order to hit the unusual shot?

  • what about head movement?

  • @alecco777 Didn't get a good straight on view so can't comment on lateral head movement. Looks like he lowers in the backswing and again a bit in the forward. Not much head swivel going back and remains looking at the ball at impact. Follows the flight of the ball later than some, earlier than others, overall kind of nuetral.

  • @wdefrancesco I have checked some other views and there is not a great deal of lateral movement. A tiny bit going back and then there is a compression in the forward but coming up again on impact.

Anyway, thanks for your great videos. I have been checking them all over and over over the last couple of weeks. I think and hope my new knowledge will improve my swing. Cant wait for august to come so i can practice and test it.

Looking forward to see your next upload.

You are my new guru.:) Thanks!
