  • Man I used to listen to this song back to back all night long my first 2 years in medical school while I was studying. It gave me the strength to keep me going. It still songs as good as it did a few years back! Thanks for putting this clip up.

  • Sorry just a small correction, it was a programme called Treasures and I think she had a CD with the same name. She covered Imagine on that CD, also Walking on Sunshine etc.

  • Dolly Parton already worked with Ladysmith Black Mambazo years ago when she did a special tv special and some concerts, Vintage tour. She had heard them on a commercial spot and loved them. She invited them to perform Cat Steven's song, Peace Train and they did an excellent version. It's nice to see that the collaboration didn't end there.

  • just amazzzzzzing!!

  • Even Dolly Can't save this.

  • Ladysmith and Dolly Parton? I had no idea. I am floored. This is just gorgeous!! (pronounced gor-zhwa) ;)

  • Xhosa and Zulu have the same number of clicks, 3! They are C, Q and X! Icango, icala. E Qhudeni, ku Qumbu. Mxolisi, Noxolo! That should put the matter to rest as well as the tendency of some to say anything that comes to mind!

  • @mzimkhulunyeka xhosa has more clicks... there hl as in hlaza and hr as in hr... hrolihlahla gq... as in umngqusho,

  • @mzimkhulunyeka .....ummm, there's a lot more than that in Both languages

  • It's not often that a lead singer gets outperformed by her backup choir. Gotta love Ladysmith Black Mambazo

  • knocking almost destroyed our precious African beats

  • say what you want, Dolly rocked this song. To me anyway. This is a wicked combination Dolly and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. This is unity to me. Sweet!!!

Dolly thought it be an honor to sing with a great group as

    ladysmith black mambazo TY

  • I don't know how this white lady is fame . but , they kill each other talent , I think .

  • i like this it brings you closer to your own mortality

  • I dont just like this....I LOVE IT!!!!! Food for the soul! Ngiyafuna u hamba ekhaya manje! :,(

  • OMG.... Dolly Parton ruined this song. ugh.

  • woooo love this version of this song my dad used to always play this when I was little, thank you sooo much for uploading this!!

  • Been better without Dolly. She is washed up.

  • @cornbreadwillie thats how she made her money coping songs

  • this is the worst rendition of the song

  • wow you do not have taste ...i love all kinds of music dolly was ok

back in her day ...this is pure shit

  • This is absolutely dreadful....the usual LBM snorefest and I doubt that these two performers were ever "together".

  • this is soooo beautiful! dolly parton is the real thing- sings with a heart as big as texas& tennessee - always lifts you up - and ladysmith black mambazo - always smiling rhythm sweetness elegant - I LIKE IT!!

  • xhosa is known as the click language am i correct?

  • Sukanini Madoda, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. I love this song.

  • bfloxword. You wrote that "it is another major S. African language" What is it? That is ZULU. It seems you don't know what you are writing about. If anything, L.B.M sing mostly in isiZulu and English.

  • B E L L I S S I M O ....................

  • Brilliant idea - I'm loving this song.

  • wow i don't know much about Bob Dylan or dolly Parton for that matter but i do know that this is a beautiful composition that could rival if not surpass Guns and Roses rendition

  • Wonderful. I love Black Manbazo!

  • a awesome blend of voices and it is Gospel regardless of who, what, where, or when.It was created. it is a Prayer to the ONE.

  • what does the soft focus on Dolly tells us?

  • Awu umkhulu wami,Mshengu ,shabalala,donga

  • very good

  • Would've rather had somebody else doing the lead other than Dolly Parton.

  • H OM E SAT NAM :)

  • THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

  • why is this not on i tunes

  • Oh my god the singer is fucking amazing!!

  • I love Dolly and Mambazo... this is awesome and I am willin' to bet that Robert Zimmerman loves it too!!! (besides the mail box money that he's gettin' as writer)

  • @muzigzag You are right. I have removed the reference to it being a gospel song.

  • actually buddy it is zulu and it does have clicks ,being fluent myself i would know

  • Just straight up and pure singing. Wonderful.

  • My gosh! I bumped into the Ladysmith Black Mambazo and they are amazing!!!

  • Zulu doesn't have clicks, it is another major s. african language. L. B. M. sings in both languages, plus English.

  • I have to correct you. Zulu does have clicks just not as many as Xhosa.

  • @AfricanStreet You are right

  • @AfricanStreet Would that be "K'ung!"?

  • @AfricanStreet

Another correction: all the clicks that are found in Xhosa are also found in Zulu; put another way, there are no clicks in Xhosa that you won't find in Zulu.

  • @bfloxword your a fool, a characteristic of isacathamiya is dental clicks

  • @bfloxword IsiZulu does have clicks. xabene...cabanga qoqa. iqaqa. cindezela.

  • @bfloxword ..it does son

  • So fresh. Yet a 40 yr old tune. Why don't more people do this type of fun song? Lots of life still in Dolly.

  • Wonderful!!!!! LOVE IT!!! Just can't get it out of my head now!!

  • this is really, truly, beautiful

  • Legal!!!

  • Ladysmiyh Black Mambazo is phenomenal !!! Zulu is so unique with the "clicks" as in 1:03 , 1:56 . It's the letter "Q" that sounds like a click isn't it?

  • u mean NQONQOTHA ezulwini

  • Yes, Thanks for that, msbuyi, I knew there were "Q"s in it. Does it mean "knocking on the heaven's door" in zulu? It's such a beautiful language!

  • Yep nQonQotha means knock
