@iheartpaintballing SEAL team 6 (DEVGRU) are based off of the SBS (Special Boat Service), who are the maritime version of the SAS, which is what Delta Force is based off of.
For DEVGRU and Delta Force, you can be selected for the SELECTION COURSE, which is pretty much the same thing as the UKSF selection course.
PS. The identities of all Tier 1 operators are classified, not just DEVGRU.

I love the UK. I lived over there for 5 years. One of my best friends from the UK is former SAS. They are awesome, no doubt about it. Who's better? SEALS or SAS? Who cares, really. That's not the point. The reality is, though, that only the US military had the assets to successfully complete that mission in Pakistan. That comes from the fact that we spend more on our military than all of Europe combined.

@chek1chek1 SEAL team 6 (DEVGRU) are based off of the SBS (Special Boat Service), who are the maritime version of the SAS, which is what Delta Force is based off of.
Delta = SAS
SEAL Team 6 = SBS
The SAS have also completed many successful operations.

The US had under water demolition teams, which were based off of the British SBS. During the Vietnam era, they started turning those underwater demolition teams into fully armed SOF operatives.
It takes roughly around two years of training before a Navy SEAL actually goes into combat. SAS and SBS require over 3 years of training.
@killerclown789 SEALs train for 30 months plus the additional 8 years as a marine. S.A.S do have a longer training period but do not require before hand training thats what they teach you in the 3 years of training. SEALs speak 2 or even 3 languages. S.A.S Do Not require them to speak several languages.

I love the UK. I lived over there for 5 years. One of my best friends from the UK is former SAS. They are awesome, no doubt about it. Who's better? SEALS or SAS? Who cares, really. That's not the point. The reality is, though, that only the US military had the assets to successfully complete that mission in Pakistan. That comes from the fact that we spend more on our military than all of Europe combined.

@theleoandsatanfan you realise that the navy seals take only 1.5 years of training. British S.A.S takes upto 4.5 years. They have more training, are more organized, and have taken on harder training. Nothing american has can beat them other than equipment.

@theleoandsatanfan none of you can really say whos better... each seal team is designed for different style warfare..where as SAS specializes (as far as i know) in counter-terriorism like delta does. the green berets focus more and winning over the people. pararescue is strictly search and rescue. and rangers are like the marines of special forces. they are more elite then marines, but are really just the muscle behind the fist, not so much the actual hit if you see what i mean...

@chek1chek1 SEAL team 6 (DEVGRU) are based off of the SBS (Special Boat Service), who are the maritime version of the SAS, which is what Delta Force is based off of.
Delta = SAS
SEAL Team 6 = SBS
The SAS have also completed many successful operations.

@theleoandsatanfan Navy SEALs are Tier 2 level operators. S.A.S are Tier 1, Delta Force are Tier 1, DEVGRU are Tier 1.
The S.A.S selection course has a 90% attrition rate and of the people that make it through, not all of them get selected. Delta is the same story.
SEALs and S.A.S are completely different anyways, so stop playing this stupid comparison game.

@posada37 The SAS have been around since WW2. They were the very FIRST commandos. Navy SEALs were introduced during the 60's.
SAS training is longer than SEAL training and the selection course is tougher.

@posada37 SEAL is capitalized, they're not seals. It stands for SEA, AIR, LAND.
The US had under water demolition teams, which were based off of the British SBS. During the Vietnam era, they started turning those underwater demolition teams into fully armed SOF operatives.
It takes roughly around two years of training before a Navy SEAL actually goes into combat. SAS and SBS require over 3 years of training.
SAS- 90% failure rate
SEALs- 70-80% failure rate

S.A.S do have a longer training period but do not require before hand training thats what they teach you in the 3 years of training. SEALs speak 2 or even 3 languages. S.A.S Do Not require them to speak several languages.
Both S.A.S and Seals are great but SEALs are deffinatly the better fighting force

To join the SAS you have to serve 3 years in the Elite Royal Marine Commandos or the Parachute Regiment.
They are both extremely well trained SOF's. I never said SAS are better, but you're always saying SEALs are better. You just can't fucking compare them. Stop playing this stupid comparison game.
