How old was Joey Ambrose when this was filmed? He looks like a teenager. But where´s this huge sax-sound coming from? The start of his solo blows me away ...
Extremely rare and valuable footage this is! First, you have Haley playing lead guitar on film (actually playing, not miming to Danny Cedrone, either!) That's because they didn't have a full-time lead guitarist when RoundUp of Rhythm was filmed. You also see Billy Williamson on acoustic guitar. And of course Marshall Lytle on bass and Joey Ambrose introduce the acrobatics that made the Comets famous! And Marshall still throws the bass around like that today!
The Comets are - quite literally - The First Band of Rock 'n' Roll.

He was a teenager, only about 17 or 18 at the time. Marshall wasn't much older.

At that time Marshall Lytle was the youngest member of the Comets. Bill was already 29.

I'd like to see Bill Perks* play bass like that. Guy stood still like a statue his whole career. Watch his face when the sax plays gets on top. Ouch
*Aka Bill Wyman.
