I work more hours, pay more tax don't get a pension at all. Why does the public sector receive a pension and not the private. Labour pissed away on all my hard earned taxes on making everyone feel rich. Party over. NO MORE FREE MONEY LEFT. ask Brown what he did with it. an please don't blame the bankers. NRK and RBS are a fraction of the debt.
You can strike as long as you like it won't make much diference. The problem is MONEY itself until we learn to evolve beyond it we will have problems. See Zeitgeist Moving Forward 2011.
If we don't make major cuts to public services and pensions then this country will face economic meltdown and millions will lose their jobs and this country will be plunged into extreme third world style poverty for decades! Most of the proposed cuts are reasonable, like a reduction in the over generous public sector pensions. The introduction of higher fees for university education etc. People should get real and understand cuts are necessary to clear Britain's one trillion pounds of debt.
Oh and let me finalise economically we're shrinking where in 2010 (prior GE) we we're growing, and let me add this we have the smallest budget deficit of all of europe, these cuts were not needed atleast to the extent they we're made, and where they we're made, i am not tory liberal or labour, i am independant always will be i vote for the independant rep all the time as the big parties dont listen, neither do the small or EDL or BNP nobody listens which is what an MP should be doing
Yes we did need cuts, quango's e.t.c maybe even make some things more efficient, but cuts we're not needed to education or miliatry and health, maybe we could collect the tax from the tories and sell the banks or maybe collect our money back from the banks or cut foreign aid (only thing not cut), possibly even pull out of all conflicts currently, however NI and Germany we need to stay, stop giving 9 bn here and 2 there to countries who quite frankly have been at war with us or 2) hate us
Okay i dont know how far britain has crawled up its backside since 2010 but, 1) tories cut, excessively, cuts un needed, MOD what MOD did we have before? We have a few thousand troops thats it a few jets and ships thats it. Now we have no planes no ships. Potentially if arggentina started the falklands again we'd be fucked. Then it doesn't help we have the EDL pissing about no doubt its the pakistanis who are to blame right paragram gobbels tree?
This time on June the 30th hundreds of us English Defence League will be there to defend London from these hooligan student rioters. The EDL now has over 92,000 fans on Facebook look it up, and is the fastest growing political movement in Britain.
@ShowPolitics The police are worse than useless. Every time there is s student demonstration they allow the students to smash things up because they are too scared to wade into the crowd and make arrests. The police's tactics is to keep a low profile during student riots and then try to make arrests later based on video evidence. What is needed is the army to deal with these scumbags they would wade in straight away.
@ParagramTree Well, the EDL dont exactly have a good name for themsleves, i was reading in the times newspaper today how your leader was facing jail over common assult, you racist scumbags are just looking for a fight, you think your going to help this country? Your just going to be kettled...
@ShowPolitics The EDL are not racist because Islam is not a race! We in the EDL are growing fast just look up the english defence league on facebook and see how many supporters we now have. This country and the whole of the western world is facing a severe threat from Islamic extremism and we in the EDL are fighting back against this Islamic extremist threat! As George Bush said "you are either with us, or you are with the Islamic terrorists".
@ParagramTree Ok, so what has Islam got to do with that ? You are now addmitting than you hate Islamic people, i don't think that you can put one stereotype under a whole group of people...
George Bush invaded iraq on false evidence of WMD's, and you still haven't answerd my point on your leader of the EDL facing jail...
@ShowPolitics Most Islamic people believe that people should be stoned to death for a wide range of minor offences, therefore Islam is evil. Do you know that in Islam if a muslim decides to leave Islam and join another religion they face death for apostasy? Do you know that muslims execute all homosexuals in countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran? And that most muslims in Britain want the death penalty brought into this country for homosexuality? When are you going to realise that Islam is evil?
@ParagramTree Islam might be a bit odd, but every religion has different agendas, I suspect that you are a fan of "Richard the Lionhart" and "Ratko Maladich"...
And how can the EDL be a "responsible group" if they are impling that you will kick the heads of students in, during the first signs of trouble, violence and inequality - sounds alot like what you call "muslin ideology, oh, and would you please explain how the EDL can be responsible for your actions when your leader is facing jail...
@ShowPolitics We are not going to kick anyones head in idiot! The EDL will be there to defend national monuments and if any students cause trouble we will make citizens arrests and hand the offenders over to the police to deal with. We will not deal with any offenders ourselves. No I am not a fan of Richard the Lionheart I am more a fan of Prince Harry as he is willing to serve his country in the armed forces and fight alongside ordinary troops for that I salute him.
@ParagramTree Your like any other pressure group, violent and highjacked and you can't accept that, i think your group has a wide range of political and ethical issues.
Agins as well, answer my question, HOW can YOUR group be responsible if the EDL's leader IS FACING JAIL, if you can't answer that, you can't hold hold an argument against me!
Over common assault, ABUSE and disturbing the peace!
@ParagramTree So why is your leader in jail if your such a "responsible group", YOUR leader is facing jail, YOUR movement has made negative views, YOUR presence makes the police more nervous,(look at interviews of them saying it), YOUR movement is not a cause for good as a sunday telegraph poll reveals, I will take NO lectures from a group that are against the ethnic minority in this country!
@ShowPolitics Muslims want evil Sharia law in this country you fool! The want to turn Britain into an Islamic state! They are prepared to use extreme violence to achieve that end. For example the 7/7 bombings and the attack on Glasgow airport! Muslims are not an ethnic group but a religon. By the way we are currently at war - ever heard of the war on terror? You sir are a traitor, if you don't like this country then please leave, we can do without your sort here.
@ParagramTree you poor un-educated person the 7/7 was a government plan along with 9/11 to make you yes YOU scared make you fear your fellow humans when in reality the only people we should fear is the ones who try to control us but do not give in to them!
@cafc1996 9/11 and 7/7 were no inside job you stupid fucking prick! They were done by evil muslim terrorists! All the stupid conspricacy theories have been totally debunked!
@ParagramTree Ok, now we know the EDL hate muslims becasue apparantly they ALL want to come over and attack our country, tell me, WHY are YOU impling that all muslims are evil and that they all want Sharia law, they don't all want this LAW!
Maybe if you watch PMQ's once in a while you will see the kind of critisims that the PM and leader of the opposition have against the EDL, you like to think that your helping people when your doing the opposite!
@zephranna01 so true but i think u will find they are only at their desks 50% of the time the other 50% is either spent making tea/coffee, standing at their friends desk talking about last nights tv and other things not work related, and they have a cheek to complain if u dare to phone their offices and ask them to actually do their work, sack all the parasites who feed on the toil of honest taxpayers,
@zephranna01 Hi, I worked for several years before I decided to go to university as a mature student. I worked many labouring jobs in factories, cleaning, and as a post woman. During university there were many times when i wanted to go back to a normal job with standard working hours and a regular wage (no long nights cramming) i think the students are doing a wonderful job at defending public services and am amazed by the brutality they come up against. Well done students.
@maria1970741 what public services are they defending, the 5 a day officer on £30000, the real nappy coordinator on £25000 or the thousands upon thousands of other public sector jobs that are totally and utterly pointless, or the fact that there are nearly as many civilians working for the MOD than there are serving soldiers, there is so much money wasted in the government/councils that if they really tried to cut it out there would be no budget deficit
@maria1970741 public services (no doubt services that you have taken advantage of in your life time). Well done students I think you are doing a tremendous job and keep up the good work.
PLEASE JOIN OUR GLOBAL FACEBOOK GROUP AND LETS START GETTING SOME ANSWERS SHALL WE? SPREAD THIS GROUP LIKE A VIRUS AND SHOW THE HIERARCHY THAT WE WILL NOT BE SILENT ANYMORE.
@zephranna01 thats the problem they dont want to work they want to sit in an office and let stupid thick twats like us do all the work and pay the tax which pays their wages, you could go into any government or council office and i guarantee you could sack over 3/4 of them and it would not make a bit of difference to the work that is done, in fact it would make the others actually do some work, if u can call working on a computer work
@zephranna01 u probably right but it would b funny to watch them protesting about something to the site foreman and watch him kick their arses and tell them to get back to work, dont you think?
@zephranna01 the problem with most of the youths is that they have been brought up to believe that everything is a right and that the government should pay for everything, what they do not realise is that the government has no money it only has the tax money that hard working people pay to them, they all need a reality check and be made to go and work on a building site as a labourer for a week and then they will realise how lucky they are
@zephranna01 You are a twat good sir.. please leave and run back to your dear daily mail and the endless stream of dribble it sprouts which i have no doubt you will agree with.
@zephranna01 u r so right the left wing arseholes will never admit that it was labour who have run up a debt of nearly a trillion pounds, they all say its the banks fault, wrong the whole banking bailout has cost less than 100 billion and when the government finally sells its shares in them then the taxpayer will have made a profit. all these left wing muppets do not understand simple economics that to spend money u first have to earn the money, they r good at spending other peoples money
@MrAnywhatever do not talk such fucking crap, the tory party is only making the cuts that are necessary because labour left us in so much debt, also labour were also planning to make just as many cuts because they knew we are skint. if you bring in av then we are going to have coalition(weak) government for ever.
DICKHEAD AND HOOLIGANS VIDEO OF LONDON PROTEST NOW AVAILABLE TO WATCH ON MY PAGE. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS ON THESE IDIOTIC ACTIONS TAKEN BY THESE SO CALLED ANARCHISTS. LMAO
FUCK THE GOVERNMENT. I just found that the royal family are going to spend more than 12 million on their wedding and its all being paid for by the tax payer. WTF. surely they have their own money. people are all happy about their wedding without realising what it actually means,
hit the goverment in the pocket stop all the fuel and block the conjestion zone then we need to force an election and all vote for someone who will give the power back to the uk and not the eu
@uRn1diot What did protest ever achieve? The vote for women. Abolition of the Poll Tax. In this case anti-cuts protests achieved a freeze on tuition fees in Scotland, a ban on tuition fees in Wales, protection of the EMA in Scotland and Wales, the govt closing multi-billion pound tax loop-holes for multinationals, a U-turn of privatisation of forests & the Lib Dem conference U-turn on privatisation of the NHS
@uRn1diot it's about showing the sleeping masses the legitimacy of the issues at hand, it's only a precursor to the inevitable rebellion. if the majority of people are either to ignorant or too cowardly to support violent reaction against the original source of violence(the government) then the revolution will be grounded before it has a chance to take off.
I have no problem with student grants being given for proper degrees but why should I pay for someone to do a degree in film and media, dance and any number of useless degrees that are on offer. At one time only a small percentage of hard working intelligent people went to uni now anyone with a single A level can go
at 0.32 sign says no high fees. please tell me why i should work hard and pay my tax just so some student can go to university for free to study something stupid like history of modern art or politics what good are these subjects going to do the country- none. if they are studying something useful like engineering or medicine then by all means subsidise their studies but for meaningless courses make them pay the full cost and then c how many really like art
@MrBillyt12345 Tell me why you should pay tax just so that some miserable student can go to medical school, learn how to be a doctor, and save your life when you're admitted to hospital... learn how to be an engineer, so they can build the roads and bridges you use to get to work? My god some people are stupid
@harrowunited and if u read my post properly u would read that i said if they are studying something useful like medicine or engineering then we should subsidise their studies, so who is the stupid one, were you not taught to read everything before u comment upon or sign anytthing
@harrowunited Tell me why we should pay taxes so some miserable student can get a useless degree like modern art or history so they can ask me if I want fries with my McDonalds burger?
@MrBillyt12345 The arts are one of englands biggest exports and they bring a considerable amount of money into the country. They also add culture to our country, money isnt the only important thing. Also how can politics not do good for the country? Politics is literally studying to help the country. if people didnt study politics who do you think would run the country? raising fees limits education to the wealthy. who are you to say what is meaningless? Education is a Right not a Privilege!
@bidders2 firstly to correct u, the arts receive more of a subsidy from the taxpayer than they make, politicians are all liars and thieves as has been proved countless times, unless im mistaken(which i am not) every single person in this country either born here or an immigrant is given FREE education from the age of 5 to 16, Further education is not a right it is a privilege that is subsidised by the TAXPAYER, hope that clears up your mistakes
@MrBillyt12345 all the subjects you just mentioned are probably some of the most useful, how are history and politics not useful, how do you think people become politicians or teachers or become lawyers, you should have said useless subjects like psychology and music and media and English or performing arts because most students don't take a career in them
@EJ35Oster firstly all politicians are lying cheating thieves. history is useful so as you learn from past mistakes and do not make the same mistake, but im afraid no historian makes the country the billions that are spent subsidising their education, lawyers are just politicians in training (liars and thieves). the majority of teachers cannot do their job properly(just look at how many children cannot read or write properly) that is the teachers fault
@MrBillyt12345 If someone else has to pay for their education, then they are not worth educating. Regarding that you don't mind paying tax to help students to get medical degrees or engineering degrees. The truth is those bright enough to be a doctor are bright enough to get their degree and use it earning a few quid elsewhere. Thats why most of the nurses and doctors in the NHS are asian, they pay for their own education in Asia.
@MrBillyt12345 You really are a absolute moron. A Tory voter only concerned with his tax i bet. you pay your taxes to fund the education of the next generation who fund the next and so on, but i suppose you went to private school since your parents had the money. I have 14 GCSES, A* - B and 4 AS levels working to get my A levels finished at the end of the year. and now my chosen Uni is charging £7800. Education should be a right not a option for those with the money. You ignorant right wing twat
@TheRacketBoss firstly i am just an ordinary working class TAXPAYER, yes my tax funds the education of the next generation but only while they are at school, why should i work 60 hours a week to pay for u or anyone else to go to university, if u want a further education AFTER your TAXPAYER funded free education then go out and get a job to pay for it, join the real world the country is SKINT because labour gave all the money away, and for the record my parents have no money but their pensions
@TheRacketBoss also if u have so many qualifications already why do u need to go to university, or is it because the education system that labour hav built is so rubbish that most employers do not even recognise the grades that u all get now, or are u going to be one of those people who will be a drain on the economy for the rest of ur life. GROW UP get a real job and start paying some tax so we can get out of the mess that labour left us in
@MrBillyt12345 Because i need a university degree to get into the field i want to go into, Companies do not recognise lower qualifications, and can you stop blaming labour for everything under the sun, you sound like the typical brainwashed tory. And uni's are still a phase of education where taxpayers money should go. You cant get a job and study, or you can but i have a hard enough time fitting 12 hours a week in part time while at college. Stop moaning about your taxes and help todays kids!!!
@TheRacketBoss you have chosen the career path that you want good for you, but why should i pay for u to go to university, uni is not a phase of education that the taxpayer should fund for one simple reason everyone cannot go to university so therefore it should not b funded by taxpayers who have no chance of going to it, i blame labour for the state this country is in because they are the party who got us into this mess its as simple as that
@paddybond yes they do pay my miserable state pension but they do not pay my company pension, but i still do not see why i should pay for them to have a free university education, its time to grow up and join the real world and pay ur own way in life
@MrBillyt12345 there's nothing "free" about a tax funded education, and, Sherlock, one aspect of a university education is that the doctors, engineers and computer scientists it trains go on to provide massive benefits for the national infrastructure and pay a shed-load in taxes which help provide stuff like NHS treatment for YOU
@harrowunited firstly sherlock if u read my previous posts you will see that i said people like doctors, engineers and other useful jobs should have a subsidised university education, but why should i pay for some lazy student to study the history of art, media studies or some other totally fucking useless degree, they should be made to pay for the course
Socialism is total wank and it doesn't work like communism. Up capitalism and when they fuck are they break out the machine guns and hose these wanky tossers down?
Reply to Jimmy Lemon. Yes let's have a free market competitive economy. But if there is competition, there must be rules. And if there are rules there must be a referee. We have refs, but they are biased.
People don't want a recession, but THEY don't want to make sacrifices!
Poor ignorant hippies, addicted to the teat of socialism. You think hand outs give you a better standard of life, instead it cripples you.
The division between rich and poor is a DIRECT RESULT of British socialism. Britain needs a Free Market economy, where the hard working are allowed to prosper instead of being smothered by the pathetic wastes of human life.
Do these 'protesters' understand what they're fighting for?
@TheJimmyLemon You haven't got a clue! Socialism is the lower form of Communism. To have Socialism the property forms have to be overturned. As far as I can make out the bourgeoisie still rule....If I'm going to fast for you, let me know. Some education would not go amiss for you
Why damage all that property for? they aint fucking protesters theyre just mindless fucking scum. good on sky for filming it all. they will get locked up! SCUM!!!!!
@DoItYourSelf12100 isn't it funny that the Bosses State can inflict massive damage on ordinary people, vandalising their lives but ithese idiots do not call it mindless vandalism? If it is in Libya, they are called freedom Fighters, in Britain they are called hooligans...
oh yes the system, the same system that has been going on since 1649.and now theres a call for change.in the past people have given more than a saturday afternoon trying to do just that .hard times ahead this demo will do little to change government economic policy if at all . not an excuse not to try though but none of that"i was at the barricades fighting for the people"codswallop , please.
I just pray that tomorrow's March is a peaceful one and the Protestors and Police remain calm in an adult manner. Remember this is your country and capital city and doing damage will not solve anything
There is so much stuff on the internet that protestors are going on Saturday 26th March to cause damage and mayhem. Well I hope that the decent ones will stick to a peacefull march because no matter how much they damage our capital the Government are not going to back down but only the one's with brains can do a peacefull march, the others are nothing but pathetic morons.
@niknak72 jesus christ, you again! cant you get it into that thick skull of yours that the violence was started BECAUSE of the police- im not even going to engage with morons like you because you just spout shite!
@mr420B Oh right so the police started it all did they,so there was no disruption or any criminal damage in london whats so ever by the protestors, the police just decided to go in there and be the way they were? The very 1st protest at the Government building, people complained that there was not enough police assigned to the protest and hence why it got out of hand then when there are to many they get blamed again.Police do not go in to a protest and act unless the rioters start something.
@niknak72 i agree there should be high police presence, and if people start kicking off then yeah, they need to do something about it- BUT, A) the first one at millbank got out of hand because the police basically did nothing, and the protesters pushed their luck accordignly.
and B) there was no trouble before the police started shoving the protesters! i dont know how else to word it- the police squeezed a crowd and they had nowhere to move to! if you're getting crushed you have to push back!
@mr420B I agree with everything your saying but at millbank police did not do much to control the protestors because there were not enough there as they thought it was going to be a peacefull one. The police could have handled it better at the second one i know that but the criminal damage that was caused was not due to kettling but shear mindless morons that just wanted to cause trouble in the capital for the sake of it.
@niknak72 yes there were mindless morons, but i want you to realise theyre just angry at the fact it feels like they have no future ahead of them- no employment, no education, benefits in the form of what could be described as slave labour- from a young, poor kids point of view things are bleak, if you feel your government doesnt respect you then why should you respect it?
@niknak72 especially when the government simply allows mass tax dodging to the tune of several billion- owed by mass corporations which these kids are constantly surrounded by, and more than likely contribute to their obscene profits
@niknak72 granted, some took it over board, but theyre angry as hell, and the police kettling crowds is only going to make things worse! anyone can see that!
@mr420B Waving signs isn't going to stop these capitalist scum bags, if signs and banners could overthrow power we wouldnt need soldiers, the only way your going to stop these people is by force
@TheBrainwashable55 i wish i could say you were wrong! unfortunatly the state has a monopoly on violence though, so the more people physically fight against the government, the more people will simply be ''condemned' by the tabloids- which in turn lead to the general publc 'condemning' our cause! and we need the support of the general public! en masse at least people might start to think about how ridiculous the whole system we live under is
All bankers should be found, tortured, and killed. All enablers of bankers should also be be found, tortured, and killed...I'm looking at you David Cameron and Nick Clegg you fucking twats!
all we see on the discussion board is a bunch of liberals who proclaim that their education should be paid for by others, have no argument as to exactly why this is the case (if they want an ipad, do they also expect that somebody else will pay for it?) and only have insults to offer when they are challenged in their ignorant and selfish version of the world. Their philosohpy, to paraphrase Descartes, is "Pagant ergo sum" = "others pay, therefore I am"
@BMA1992 you're apparently a little slow, so allow me to repeat for your benefit: you want to study, you do like we do in the US, you BORROW. That allows us to have the best education system, as proven by all rankings and nobel prizes statitics, one in which students make choices that suit them best since education is an investment. That would avoid scores of useless fools studying welsh or other non-productive courses at taxpayer expenses. Do you copy me or is it still to hard?
@ismael198030 So therefore what your saying is that if you wish to attend university to gain a degree then you must leave university after your course and be in massive amounts of debt ? the average debt under this new tory policy being 40 thousand pounds ? or as the tories wish only people from wealthy backgrounds will be able to afford this thus creating a class divide exactly as the conservative party wish ... Education is a right, Not a privilege !!!
@BMA1992 but you can clench your tiny fists as tightly as you want, this is how it is going to be. IIT Mumbay is 25,000 a year in a country where the GDP per capita is 1200 dollars and they reject 97% of the applicants. Same thing in top-tier US universities. In all the countries that will count in the future, people pay for their own health care and tuitions. Europe has been an anomaly for 50 years, where some people were partying hard at the expense of others. This time has come and gone.
@ismael198030 So what your attempting to state is that in order to have good education you must have astronomical tuition fees ? Bullshit ! The U.K's education system works fine without these tory scum coming into power and hitting the poorest hardest. By this I mean creating a class divide due to the fact that only the rich will be able to leave university with such debts as 40 thousand pounds and still be able to survive (due to mummy and daddy) everyone deserves the opportunity to .....
@BMA1992 there is no change in tuitions fees. The cost of education remains the same before and after the reform. THe only change is that in a new, fairer system, the ones who benefit from the education are the ones who pay for the education. In other words, it is over with the system where somebody else would pay those 40K dollars for you. Now you want to study: you borrow and pay for it. Maybe you don't agree, but that is the new way, just deal with it. The nanny state is gone and forever
@ismael198030 where do you live incidently ? because you obviously have no idea what your talking about, blind ignorance on your part... Tuition fees aren't increasing ... currently the average university degree's annual tuition fees cost around 2000 pounds ... they are increasing to a maximum of 9000 ? you can do the math and work out how they can defend this .. so if someone from a more deprived background wishes to attend university (which all should have the right to do) they have to take ..
@BMA1992 ok, let me repeat for the 4th time: tuitions are not increasing. There is just a SWITCH in WHO bears them. They used to be paid for by taxpayers on behalf on the students, now they will be paid for by the students themselves, which is only fair. This has always been the case here in the US: you want a college degree, you work or you go see your banker. I don't see why taxpayers should pay for somebody else who doesnt even say thank you
@ismael198030 and I will repeat for you, know what your talking about before you get into a debate about something in the future .. I will mail you evidence of this :) as it will not allow me to post link :) I rest my case :)
@ismael198030 Since education is something we the tax payers pay for we, we should get it for OUR children - That is, me and my working class children should have the opportunity to better ourselves since WE pay for it. However, it seems although we pay our taxes, only the stinking rich can go to university - That is what we are complaining about. When our childrens education is cut we will not ALSO get a tax rebate, we will still be paying but we will recieve nothing for our money.
@nags2bitches I agree. Let's lower taxes to the bare minimum, let's say a flat 5% rate on any income or capital gain, to pay for the police and justice. Everything else, you want it->you pay for it
@ismael198030 .... a massive loan out .. and if they succesfully get the degree then they will have an average debt of around 40 thousand pounds .. now how can you justify that as fair ?
@BMA1992 of course it is fair. They are the ones what will take advantage of the college degree, through increased wages and a better future. It is like an invesment. You don't expect other people to pay for your own investment do you?
@ismael198030 They already pay a reasonable price which we accept but to increase to almsot 5 times what they were previously ? and that is not true just now as we are in a recession and there is a huge percentage of the population un-employed so many university graduates are leaving and unable to find a job but still have a huge debt hanging over them ? What the tory government are trying to do is create a class divide again so that only those who can afford it actually go ! this is wrong !
@BMA1992 First of all, you grew used to a system where somebody else would pay for you. THis system is over. It is just sad the catchup is falling on you so brutally after years of denial. I am sorry since you come across as a nice kid, but you are at the wrong time at the wrong place. Also, I am not going to cry when some grads are unemployed because they chose to study music, welsh or whatever topic companies do not need while jobs now are in computer science, healthcare and so on.
@ismael198030 But just because i and many others are born in a different era shouldnt be to detriment of our education ! How can you say that the jobs are in healthcare when there is rumoured to be cuts of nearly 25000 jobs within the NHS (national health service) and computer company Oracle laying off more than 10 percent of its workforce ? that doesnt create jobs :)
@BMA1992 the NHs is not representative, It is yet one big government bureaucracy. If you look at macroeconomic reports, you'll see that growth will be 7%+ in the next 20 years in technology, healthcare, green energy. And don't dramatize your situation: thousands of kids your age borrow in the US and pay back within a few years. Also, there are jobs in Asia and Latin America. Why don't you move to China or Brazil? Millions came to europe in the 60s. It is time for the Europeans to emigrate
@ismael198030 But that percentage increase will just be making back up the thousands of jobs lost ? I am not dramatising the situation, we are being forced to pay for the governments and banks greed. And they are going about it in a tory idealist way.. put it this way millions will not be attending university due to this increase which is shocking.
@BMA1992 i dont know about the UK, but in the US, the investment the government made in bank assets actually allowed the federal government to rip a 68 billion dollars profit. All in all, TARP didnt cost ANYTHING to the tax payers, it MADE MONEY FOR the taxpayers. You got to realize that your generation is paying for 50 years of careless politics in Europe. Today, the UK is a huge shit sandwich and every brit is going to have to take a bite. Maybe you should start with auctioning out the queen
@ismael198030 but the government is tryin to find billions in the wrong places. maybe they should look at Vodafone and other maor brands .... Vodafone currently owing the small matter of 6 billion pounds in taxes... which have been overdue for years.... see they dont state that in there new plans to cut the deficit.. all lying, deceitful cunts !!!
@ismael198030 Who do you think pays taxes ? The parents of the students; they have already paid for their childrens education via taxes and now you are saying they should still pay for it but not get it ? Students from poorer back-grounds already have to work their way through college and take out loans, now they can't even do that.
@harrowunited Well you have part of it right. The other Taxes go towards those things, however, your income tax goes right into the Banksters pockets. Ismael198030. To long has this monetary system taken advantage of us. Education should be FREE, it should be a right. I don't blame these students, they will be indebted to the BANKS for the rest of their lives. You are born, you are educated, taught to consume, pay back debts, then you die. Surely there must be a better system.
@harrowunited Errm...if it is an Anti-Cuts protest then why withdraw support from it? Does it matter who is on it? If the EDL are linked to it...so what?
@rtubem So what is that the EDL have been victimising anti-cuts protestors by photoshopping photos of them to make it look like anti-cuts protests were protests against homecoming troops, and then using the fake "evidence" to encourage EDL supporters to threaten violence against them
The students should depend less on government, and more on themselves. The cuts demonstrate the failure of big government. They're protesting the symptoms, while blissfully ignoring the disease.
there have been many marches by muslims in the uk where there has been most violence and most white brits find this behavoir equally odious!muslims they choose to chant death threatsto brits!inciting religious hate against all religions and telling us islam will rule the uk and the world!! the police do not arrest them, and these marches are never reported on mainstream news channels!so you can hardly compare these issues!!!!!!!!!!
Is the Cost of education to high in part because salaries were not set in a free market. Government guaranteed them and now they cost too much? If Government continues to pay them, you will not be guarantee economic opportunity or freedom for your hard work. Your hard work and sacrifices of time and effort will only be rewarded with higher taxes and more control.
There wouldn't be a need for tuition fees if we didn't have the ridiculous 50% of school leavers attending university. One thing I don't understand is that you are also protesting against being lumbered with debt, yet you advocate socialist policies which will increase government debt, and thus increase your taxes to pay for your share of the debt? You are all intellectually incoherent and muddled. And EMA was a bribe to lure thick twerps into A level courses to study ChildCare.
You're just a bunch of selfish bastards! Why should the hard pressed taxpayer pay for your university degree when they won't benefit from it? If university is so important to you, then you should be willing to pay for the 'privilege' of attending. I have no qualms about paying, despite living in a dump next to a council estate. Besides, why should people pay for you to study Media Studies, or Health and Social Care?
@VonMises1990 If nursery education is so important to you, then you should be willing to pay for the 'privilege' of attending??? Stroll on... we already pay for higher education through VAT and income tax, what we're being asked to do now is pay for it TWICE
My parents paid their taxes, which provides the funds for nursery education. As my attendance at nursery enabled my mother to work through the day, she benefitted, and also, it was COMPULSORY. University is not forced on anyone. To attend a university is one's personal choice. I will be attending university within the next year. I currently work for low wages at Amazon. Why should I work hard in a long and boring job to pay for your university education?
@VonMises1990 VonMises channel description contains quotes from right-wing economists Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman, whose ideas are frankly the reason we're suffering this bullshit now, and whose economic theories were field-tested in Chile by Fascist dictator General Pinochet - who used kidnap, assassination, torture and murder to impose those theories on a people whose democratic government was overthrown by the CIA to protect US interests in Chilean businesses
@harrowunited Fascism and the free markets do not mix. Tax's only serve to hinder economic growth. The money the government takes from the people stifle the chances of most incoming entrepreneurs from making investments, and as a result stifles incoming competition. That in turn seems to benefit the corporations you adamantly oppose.
The subsidization of education encourages dilatory. Some may decide to go to college for 2 years before dropping out and wasting our money.
would it cost money to pay for healthcare and dentistry if they privitaise it?

Labour pissed away on all my hard earned taxes on making everyone feel rich. Party over. NO MORE FREE MONEY LEFT. ask Brown what he did with it. an please don't blame the bankers.
ParagramTree 8 months ago
Oh and let me finalise economically we're shrinking where in 2010 (prior GE) we we're growing, and let me add this we have the smallest budget deficit of all of europe, these cuts were not needed atleast to the extent they we're made, and where they we're made, i am not tory liberal or labour, i am independant always will be i vote for the independant rep all the time as the big parties dont listen, neither do the small or EDL or BNP nobody listens which is what an MP should be doing
hench43 8 months ago
Yes we did need cuts, quango's e.t.c maybe even make some things more efficient, but cuts we're not needed to education or miliatry and health, maybe we could collect the tax from the tories and sell the banks or maybe collect our money back from the banks or cut foreign aid (only thing not cut), possibly even pull out of all conflicts currently, however NI and Germany we need to stay, stop giving 9 bn here and 2 there to countries who quite frankly have been at war with us or 2) hate us
hench43 8 months ago

ParagramTree 8 months ago
@ParagramTree The police can deal with that.
ShowPolitics 8 months ago
@ShowPolitics The police are worse than useless. Every time there is s student demonstration they allow the students to smash things up because they are too scared to wade into the crowd and make arrests. The police's tactics is to keep a low profile during student riots and then try to make arrests later based on video evidence. What is needed is the army to deal with these scumbags they would wade in straight away.
ParagramTree 8 months ago
@ParagramTree Well, the EDL dont exactly have a good name for themsleves, i was reading in the times newspaper today how your leader was facing jail over common assult, you racist scumbags are just looking for a fight, you think your going to help this country? Your just going to be kettled...
ShowPolitics 8 months ago
@ShowPolitics The EDL are not racist because Islam is not a race! We in the EDL are growing fast just look up the english defence league on facebook and see how many supporters we now have. This country and the whole of the western world is facing a severe threat from Islamic extremism and we in the EDL are fighting back against this Islamic extremist threat! As George Bush said "you are either with us, or you are with the Islamic terrorists".
ParagramTree 8 months ago
@ParagramTree Ok, so what has Islam got to do with that ? You are now addmitting than you hate Islamic people, i don't think that you can put one stereotype under a whole group of people...
George Bush invaded iraq on false evidence of WMD's, and you still haven't answerd my point on your leader of the EDL facing jail...
ShowPolitics 8 months ago
@ShowPolitics Most Islamic people believe that people should be stoned to death for a wide range of minor offences, therefore Islam is evil. Do you know that in Islam if a muslim decides to leave Islam and join another religion they face death for apostasy? Do you know that muslims execute all homosexuals in countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran? And that most muslims in Britain want the death penalty brought into this country for homosexuality? When are you going to realise that Islam is evil?
ParagramTree 8 months ago
@ParagramTree Islam might be a bit odd, but every religion has different agendas, I suspect that you are a fan of "Richard the Lionhart" and "Ratko Maladich"...
And how can the EDL be a "responsible group" if they are impling that you will kick the heads of students in, during the first signs of trouble, violence and inequality - sounds alot like what you call "muslin ideology, oh, and would you please explain how the EDL can be responsible for your actions when your leader is facing jail...
ShowPolitics 8 months ago
@ShowPolitics We are not going to kick anyones head in idiot! The EDL will be there to defend national monuments and if any students cause trouble we will make citizens arrests and hand the offenders over to the police to deal with. We will not deal with any offenders ourselves. No I am not a fan of Richard the Lionheart I am more a fan of Prince Harry as he is willing to serve his country in the armed forces and fight alongside ordinary troops for that I salute him.
ParagramTree 8 months ago
@ParagramTree Your like any other pressure group, violent and highjacked and you can't accept that, i think your group has a wide range of political and ethical issues.
Agins as well, answer my question, HOW can YOUR group be responsible if the EDL's leader IS FACING JAIL, if you can't answer that, you can't hold hold an argument against me!
Over common assault, ABUSE and disturbing the peace!
ShowPolitics 8 months ago
@ParagramTree So why is your leader in jail if your such a "responsible group", YOUR leader is facing jail, YOUR movement has made negative views, YOUR presence makes the police more nervous,(look at interviews of them saying it), YOUR movement is not a cause for good as a sunday telegraph poll reveals, I will take NO lectures from a group that are against the ethnic minority in this country!
ShowPolitics 8 months ago
@ShowPolitics Muslims want evil Sharia law in this country you fool! The want to turn Britain into an Islamic state! They are prepared to use extreme violence to achieve that end. For example the 7/7 bombings and the attack on Glasgow airport! Muslims are not an ethnic group but a religon. By the way we are currently at war - ever heard of the war on terror? You sir are a traitor, if you don't like this country then please leave, we can do without your sort here.
ParagramTree 8 months ago
@ParagramTree you poor un-educated person the 7/7 was a government plan along with 9/11 to make you yes YOU scared make you fear your fellow humans when in reality the only people we should fear is the ones who try to control us but do not give in to them!

Maybe if you watch PMQ's once in a while you will see the kind of critisims that the PM and leader of the opposition have against the EDL, you like to think that your helping people when your doing the opposite!

Well done students.
maria1970741 10 months ago
@maria1970741 what public services are they defending, the 5 a day officer on £30000, the real nappy coordinator on £25000 or the thousands upon thousands of other public sector jobs that are totally and utterly pointless, or the fact that there are nearly as many civilians working for the MOD than there are serving soldiers, there is so much money wasted in the government/councils that if they really tried to cut it out there would be no budget deficit

@zephranna01 thats the problem they dont want to work they want to sit in an office and let stupid thick twats like us do all the work and pay the tax which pays their wages, you could go into any government or council office and i guarantee you could sack over 3/4 of them and it would not make a bit of difference to the work that is done, in fact it would make the others actually do some work, if u can call working on a computer work
MrBillyt12345 10 months ago
@zephranna01 u probably right but it would b funny to watch them protesting about something to the site foreman and watch him kick their arses and tell them to get back to work, dont you think?
MrBillyt12345 10 months ago
@zephranna01 the problem with most of the youths is that they have been brought up to believe that everything is a right and that the government should pay for everything, what they do not realise is that the government has no money it only has the tax money that hard working people pay to them, they all need a reality check and be made to go and work on a building site as a labourer for a week and then they will realise how lucky they are

@uRn1diot What did protest ever achieve? The vote for women. Abolition of the Poll Tax. In this case anti-cuts protests achieved a freeze on tuition fees in Scotland, a ban on tuition fees in Wales, protection of the EMA in Scotland and Wales, the govt closing multi-billion pound tax loop-holes for multinationals, a U-turn of privatisation of forests & the Lib Dem conference U-turn on privatisation of the NHS
harrowunited 11 months ago

@uRn1diot it's about showing the sleeping masses the legitimacy of the issues at hand, it's only a precursor to the inevitable rebellion. if the majority of people are either to ignorant or too cowardly to support violent reaction against the original source of violence(the government) then the revolution will be grounded before it has a chance to take off.

at 0.32 sign says no high fees. please tell me why i should work hard and pay my tax just so some student can go to university for free to study something stupid like history of modern art or politics what good are these subjects going to do the country- none. if they are studying something useful like engineering or medicine then by all means subsidise their studies but for meaningless courses make them pay the full cost and then c how many really like art
MrBillyt12345 11 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 Tell me why you should pay tax just so that some miserable student can go to medical school, learn how to be a doctor, and save your life when you're admitted to hospital... learn how to be an engineer, so they can build the roads and bridges you use to get to work? My god some people are stupid
harrowunited 11 months ago
@harrowunited and if u read my post properly u would read that i said if they are studying something useful like medicine or engineering then we should subsidise their studies, so who is the stupid one, were you not taught to read everything before u comment upon or sign anytthing
MrBillyt12345 11 months ago
@harrowunited Tell me why we should pay taxes so some miserable student can get a useless degree like modern art or history so they can ask me if I want fries with my McDonalds burger?
SuperApollo21 10 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 The arts are one of englands biggest exports and they bring a considerable amount of money into the country. They also add culture to our country, money isnt the only important thing. Also how can politics not do good for the country? Politics is literally studying to help the country. if people didnt study politics who do you think would run the country? raising fees limits education to the wealthy. who are you to say what is meaningless? Education is a Right not a Privilege!
bidders2 11 months ago
@bidders2 firstly to correct u, the arts receive more of a subsidy from the taxpayer than they make, politicians are all liars and thieves as has been proved countless times, unless im mistaken(which i am not) every single person in this country either born here or an immigrant is given FREE education from the age of 5 to 16, Further education is not a right it is a privilege that is subsidised by the TAXPAYER, hope that clears up your mistakes
MrBillyt12345 11 months ago

@MrBillyt12345 all the subjects you just mentioned are probably some of the most useful, how are history and politics not useful, how do you think people become politicians or teachers or become lawyers, you should have said useless subjects like psychology and music and media and English or performing arts because most students don't take a career in them
EJ35Oster 11 months ago
@EJ35Oster firstly all politicians are lying cheating thieves. history is useful so as you learn from past mistakes and do not make the same mistake, but im afraid no historian makes the country the billions that are spent subsidising their education, lawyers are just politicians in training (liars and thieves). the majority of teachers cannot do their job properly(just look at how many children cannot read or write properly) that is the teachers fault
MrBillyt12345 10 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 If someone else has to pay for their education, then they are not worth educating. Regarding that you don't mind paying tax to help students to get medical degrees or engineering degrees. The truth is those bright enough to be a doctor are bright enough to get their degree and use it earning a few quid elsewhere. Thats why most of the nurses and doctors in the NHS are asian, they pay for their own education in Asia.
SuperApollo21 10 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 You really are a absolute moron. A Tory voter only concerned with his tax i bet. you pay your taxes to fund the education of the next generation who fund the next and so on, but i suppose you went to private school since your parents had the money. I have 14 GCSES, A* - B and 4 AS levels working to get my A levels finished at the end of the year. and now my chosen Uni is charging £7800. Education should be a right not a option for those with the money. You ignorant right wing twat
TheRacketBoss 10 months ago
@TheRacketBoss firstly i am just an ordinary working class TAXPAYER, yes my tax funds the education of the next generation but only while they are at school, why should i work 60 hours a week to pay for u or anyone else to go to university, if u want a further education AFTER your TAXPAYER funded free education then go out and get a job to pay for it, join the real world the country is SKINT because labour gave all the money away, and for the record my parents have no money but their pensions
MrBillyt12345 10 months ago
@TheRacketBoss also if u have so many qualifications already why do u need to go to university, or is it because the education system that labour hav built is so rubbish that most employers do not even recognise the grades that u all get now, or are u going to be one of those people who will be a drain on the economy for the rest of ur life. GROW UP get a real job and start paying some tax so we can get out of the mess that labour left us in
MrBillyt12345 10 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 Because i need a university degree to get into the field i want to go into, Companies do not recognise lower qualifications, and can you stop blaming labour for everything under the sun, you sound like the typical brainwashed tory. And uni's are still a phase of education where taxpayers money should go. You cant get a job and study, or you can but i have a hard enough time fitting 12 hours a week in part time while at college. Stop moaning about your taxes and help todays kids!!!
TheRacketBoss 10 months ago
@TheRacketBoss you have chosen the career path that you want good for you, but why should i pay for u to go to university, uni is not a phase of education that the taxpayer should fund for one simple reason everyone cannot go to university so therefore it should not b funded by taxpayers who have no chance of going to it, i blame labour for the state this country is in because they are the party who got us into this mess its as simple as that
MrBillyt12345 10 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 Because todays students pay your pension
paddybond 8 months ago
@paddybond yes they do pay my miserable state pension but they do not pay my company pension, but i still do not see why i should pay for them to have a free university education, its time to grow up and join the real world and pay ur own way in life
MrBillyt12345 8 months ago
@MrBillyt12345 there's nothing "free" about a tax funded education, and, Sherlock, one aspect of a university education is that the doctors, engineers and computer scientists it trains go on to provide massive benefits for the national infrastructure and pay a shed-load in taxes which help provide stuff like NHS treatment for YOU
harrowunited 8 months ago
@harrowunited firstly sherlock if u read my previous posts you will see that i said people like doctors, engineers and other useful jobs should have a subsidised university education, but why should i pay for some lazy student to study the history of art, media studies or some other totally fucking useless degree, they should be made to pay for the course

I just pray that tomorrow's March is a peaceful one and the Protestors and Police remain calm in an adult manner. Remember this is your country and capital city and doing damage will not solve anything
niknak72 11 months ago
will nick clegg be attending or is he opening a fete on saturday.after all he was part of the conservative government cuts.
ralphcraddock 11 months ago
There is so much stuff on the internet that protestors are going on Saturday 26th March to cause damage and mayhem. Well I hope that the decent ones will stick to a peacefull march because no matter how much they damage our capital the Government are not going to back down but only the one's with brains can do a peacefull march, the others are nothing but pathetic morons.
niknak72 11 months ago
every weekend we must protest now or every day !!
scotishkiller 11 months ago
I just hope the Police are there in many more numbers than they were before and bring down the morons that choose to vandalise our capital
niknak72 11 months ago
@niknak72 jesus christ, you again! cant you get it into that thick skull of yours that the violence was started BECAUSE of the police- im not even going to engage with morons like you because you just spout shite!
mr420B 11 months ago
@mr420B Oh right so the police started it all did they,so there was no disruption or any criminal damage in london whats so ever by the protestors, the police just decided to go in there and be the way they were? The very 1st protest at the Government building, people complained that there was not enough police assigned to the protest and hence why it got out of hand then when there are to many they get blamed again.Police do not go in to a protest and act unless the rioters start something.
niknak72 11 months ago
@niknak72 i agree there should be high police presence, and if people start kicking off then yeah, they need to do something about it- BUT, A) the first one at millbank got out of hand because the police basically did nothing, and the protesters pushed their luck accordignly.
and B) there was no trouble before the police started shoving the protesters! i dont know how else to word it- the police squeezed a crowd and they had nowhere to move to! if you're getting crushed you have to push back!
mr420B 11 months ago
@mr420B I agree with everything your saying but at millbank police did not do much to control the protestors because there were not enough there as they thought it was going to be a peacefull one. The police could have handled it better at the second one i know that but the criminal damage that was caused was not due to kettling but shear mindless morons that just wanted to cause trouble in the capital for the sake of it.
niknak72 11 months ago
@niknak72 yes there were mindless morons, but i want you to realise theyre just angry at the fact it feels like they have no future ahead of them- no employment, no education, benefits in the form of what could be described as slave labour- from a young, poor kids point of view things are bleak, if you feel your government doesnt respect you then why should you respect it?
mr420B 11 months ago
@niknak72 especially when the government simply allows mass tax dodging to the tune of several billion- owed by mass corporations which these kids are constantly surrounded by, and more than likely contribute to their obscene profits
mr420B 11 months ago
@niknak72 granted, some took it over board, but theyre angry as hell, and the police kettling crowds is only going to make things worse! anyone can see that!

@TheBrainwashable55 no demonstrations are just hippies waving signs, open your fucking mind a little bit- these cuts are affecting everyone!
mr420B 11 months ago
@mr420B Waving signs isn't going to stop these capitalist scum bags, if signs and banners could overthrow power we wouldnt need soldiers, the only way your going to stop these people is by force
TheBrainwashable55 11 months ago
@TheBrainwashable55 i wish i could say you were wrong! unfortunatly the state has a monopoly on violence though, so the more people physically fight against the government, the more people will simply be ''condemned' by the tabloids- which in turn lead to the general publc 'condemning' our cause! and we need the support of the general public! en masse at least people might start to think about how ridiculous the whole system we live under is

all we see on the discussion board is a bunch of liberals who proclaim that their education should be paid for by others, have no argument as to exactly why this is the case (if they want an ipad, do they also expect that somebody else will pay for it?) and only have insults to offer when they are challenged in their ignorant and selfish version of the world. Their philosohpy, to paraphrase Descartes, is "Pagant ergo sum" = "others pay, therefore I am"
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 So further education should be for only the wealthy ? silly point
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 you're apparently a little slow, so allow me to repeat for your benefit: you want to study, you do like we do in the US, you BORROW. That allows us to have the best education system, as proven by all rankings and nobel prizes statitics, one in which students make choices that suit them best since education is an investment. That would avoid scores of useless fools studying welsh or other non-productive courses at taxpayer expenses. Do you copy me or is it still to hard?
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 So therefore what your saying is that if you wish to attend university to gain a degree then you must leave university after your course and be in massive amounts of debt ? the average debt under this new tory policy being 40 thousand pounds ? or as the tories wish only people from wealthy backgrounds will be able to afford this thus creating a class divide exactly as the conservative party wish ... Education is a right, Not a privilege !!!
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 but you can clench your tiny fists as tightly as you want, this is how it is going to be. IIT Mumbay is 25,000 a year in a country where the GDP per capita is 1200 dollars and they reject 97% of the applicants. Same thing in top-tier US universities. In all the countries that will count in the future, people pay for their own health care and tuitions. Europe has been an anomaly for 50 years, where some people were partying hard at the expense of others. This time has come and gone.
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 So what your attempting to state is that in order to have good education you must have astronomical tuition fees ? Bullshit ! The U.K's education system works fine without these tory scum coming into power and hitting the poorest hardest. By this I mean creating a class divide due to the fact that only the rich will be able to leave university with such debts as 40 thousand pounds and still be able to survive (due to mummy and daddy) everyone deserves the opportunity to .....
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 there is no change in tuitions fees. The cost of education remains the same before and after the reform. THe only change is that in a new, fairer system, the ones who benefit from the education are the ones who pay for the education. In other words, it is over with the system where somebody else would pay those 40K dollars for you. Now you want to study: you borrow and pay for it. Maybe you don't agree, but that is the new way, just deal with it. The nanny state is gone and forever
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 where do you live incidently ? because you obviously have no idea what your talking about, blind ignorance on your part... Tuition fees aren't increasing ... currently the average university degree's annual tuition fees cost around 2000 pounds ... they are increasing to a maximum of 9000 ? you can do the math and work out how they can defend this .. so if someone from a more deprived background wishes to attend university (which all should have the right to do) they have to take ..
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 ok, let me repeat for the 4th time: tuitions are not increasing. There is just a SWITCH in WHO bears them. They used to be paid for by taxpayers on behalf on the students, now they will be paid for by the students themselves, which is only fair. This has always been the case here in the US: you want a college degree, you work or you go see your banker. I don't see why taxpayers should pay for somebody else who doesnt even say thank you
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 and I will repeat for you, know what your talking about before you get into a debate about something in the future .. I will mail you evidence of this :) as it will not allow me to post link :) I rest my case :)
BMA1992 1 year ago
@ismael198030 Since education is something we the tax payers pay for we, we should get it for OUR children - That is, me and my working class children should have the opportunity to better ourselves since WE pay for it. However, it seems although we pay our taxes, only the stinking rich can go to university - That is what we are complaining about. When our childrens education is cut we will not ALSO get a tax rebate, we will still be paying but we will recieve nothing for our money.
nags2bitches 1 year ago
@nags2bitches I agree. Let's lower taxes to the bare minimum, let's say a flat 5% rate on any income or capital gain, to pay for the police and justice. Everything else, you want it->you pay for it
icantwaittobethere 1 year ago
@icantwaittobethere Actually I personally wouldn't pay for a police force since I get no benefit from it.
nags2bitches 1 year ago
@ismael198030 .... a massive loan out .. and if they succesfully get the degree then they will have an average debt of around 40 thousand pounds .. now how can you justify that as fair ?
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 of course it is fair. They are the ones what will take advantage of the college degree, through increased wages and a better future. It is like an invesment. You don't expect other people to pay for your own investment do you?
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 They already pay a reasonable price which we accept but to increase to almsot 5 times what they were previously ? and that is not true just now as we are in a recession and there is a huge percentage of the population un-employed so many university graduates are leaving and unable to find a job but still have a huge debt hanging over them ? What the tory government are trying to do is create a class divide again so that only those who can afford it actually go ! this is wrong !
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 First of all, you grew used to a system where somebody else would pay for you. THis system is over. It is just sad the catchup is falling on you so brutally after years of denial. I am sorry since you come across as a nice kid, but you are at the wrong time at the wrong place. Also, I am not going to cry when some grads are unemployed because they chose to study music, welsh or whatever topic companies do not need while jobs now are in computer science, healthcare and so on.
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 But just because i and many others are born in a different era shouldnt be to detriment of our education ! How can you say that the jobs are in healthcare when there is rumoured to be cuts of nearly 25000 jobs within the NHS (national health service) and computer company Oracle laying off more than 10 percent of its workforce ? that doesnt create jobs :)
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 the NHs is not representative, It is yet one big government bureaucracy. If you look at macroeconomic reports, you'll see that growth will be 7%+ in the next 20 years in technology, healthcare, green energy. And don't dramatize your situation: thousands of kids your age borrow in the US and pay back within a few years. Also, there are jobs in Asia and Latin America. Why don't you move to China or Brazil? Millions came to europe in the 60s. It is time for the Europeans to emigrate
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 But that percentage increase will just be making back up the thousands of jobs lost ? I am not dramatising the situation, we are being forced to pay for the governments and banks greed. And they are going about it in a tory idealist way.. put it this way millions will not be attending university due to this increase which is shocking.
BMA1992 1 year ago
@BMA1992 i dont know about the UK, but in the US, the investment the government made in bank assets actually allowed the federal government to rip a 68 billion dollars profit. All in all, TARP didnt cost ANYTHING to the tax payers, it MADE MONEY FOR the taxpayers. You got to realize that your generation is paying for 50 years of careless politics in Europe. Today, the UK is a huge shit sandwich and every brit is going to have to take a bite. Maybe you should start with auctioning out the queen
ismael198030 1 year ago
@ismael198030 but the government is tryin to find billions in the wrong places. maybe they should look at Vodafone and other maor brands .... Vodafone currently owing the small matter of 6 billion pounds in taxes... which have been overdue for years.... see they dont state that in there new plans to cut the deficit.. all lying, deceitful cunts !!!
BMA1992 1 year ago
@ismael198030 Who do you think pays taxes ? The parents of the students; they have already paid for their childrens education via taxes and now you are saying they should still pay for it but not get it ? Students from poorer back-grounds already have to work their way through college and take out loans, now they can't even do that.
nags2bitches 1 year ago
@ismael198030 .... everyone deserves the opportunity to better themselves, not only rich people :)
BMA1992 1 year ago
@harrowunited Well you have part of it right. The other Taxes go towards those things, however, your income tax goes right into the Banksters pockets. Ismael198030. To long has this monetary system taken advantage of us. Education should be FREE, it should be a right. I don't blame these students, they will be indebted to the BANKS for the rest of their lives. You are born, you are educated, taught to consume, pay back debts, then you die. Surely there must be a better system.

@harrowunited Errm...if it is an Anti-Cuts protest then why withdraw support from it? Does it matter who is on it? If the EDL are linked to it...so what?
rtubem 1 year ago
@rtubem So what is that the EDL have been victimising anti-cuts protestors by photoshopping photos of them to make it look like anti-cuts protests were protests against homecoming troops, and then using the fake "evidence" to encourage EDL supporters to threaten violence against them

The students should depend less on government, and more on themselves. The cuts demonstrate the failure of big government. They're protesting the symptoms, while blissfully ignoring the disease.

Is the Cost of education to high in part because salaries were not set in a free market. Government guaranteed them and now they cost too much? If Government continues to pay them, you will not be guarantee economic opportunity or freedom for your hard work. Your hard work and sacrifices of time and effort will only be rewarded with higher taxes and more control.

dtvgmedia 1 year ago
There wouldn't be a need for tuition fees if we didn't have the ridiculous 50% of school leavers attending university. One thing I don't understand is that you are also protesting against being lumbered with debt, yet you advocate socialist policies which will increase government debt, and thus increase your taxes to pay for your share of the debt? You are all intellectually incoherent and muddled. And EMA was a bribe to lure thick twerps into A level courses to study ChildCare.
VonMises1990 1 year ago
You're just a bunch of selfish bastards! Why should the hard pressed taxpayer pay for your university degree when they won't benefit from it? If university is so important to you, then you should be willing to pay for the 'privilege' of attending. I have no qualms about paying, despite living in a dump next to a council estate. Besides, why should people pay for you to study Media Studies, or Health and Social Care?
VonMises1990 1 year ago
@VonMises1990 If nursery education is so important to you, then you should be willing to pay for the 'privilege' of attending??? Stroll on... we already pay for higher education through VAT and income tax, what we're being asked to do now is pay for it TWICE
harrowunited 1 year ago
My parents paid their taxes, which provides the funds for nursery education. As my attendance at nursery enabled my mother to work through the day, she benefitted, and also, it was COMPULSORY. University is not forced on anyone. To attend a university is one's personal choice. I will be attending university within the next year. I currently work for low wages at Amazon. Why should I work hard in a long and boring job to pay for your university education?
VonMises1990 1 year ago
@VonMises1990 VonMises channel description contains quotes from right-wing economists Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman, whose ideas are frankly the reason we're suffering this bullshit now, and whose economic theories were field-tested in Chile by Fascist dictator General Pinochet - who used kidnap, assassination, torture and murder to impose those theories on a people whose democratic government was overthrown by the CIA to protect US interests in Chilean businesses
harrowunited 1 year ago
@harrowunited Fascism and the free markets do not mix. Tax's only serve to hinder economic growth. The money the government takes from the people stifle the chances of most incoming entrepreneurs from making investments, and as a result stifles incoming competition. That in turn seems to benefit the corporations you adamantly oppose.
The subsidization of education encourages dilatory. Some may decide to go to college for 2 years before dropping out and wasting our money.
