  • So what's the proper breathing with this?I feel like the breathing's what's messing me up.Also, feet shoulder width apart of slightly further?

  • @popcornPWRsource breathe in the on the first part, out on the return. Feet greater than shoulder width, although they can be pulled together for more of a calf stretch/ more challenge.

  • AT LAST a demonsration done correctly for these ie ELBOWS IN INDEED !! lots elbows out can easily cause muscle damage and in is more effective anyway. thanks for post steve.

  • This is only a part of the Yogasanam ( Yoga ) called " Surya Namaskaram" meaning Saluting the sun. If you read a good book on " Yogasanam" which is originated in India, you can understand he benefits. Well Yoga strengthens the body and mind simultaneously. If you perform " Yoga " daily, you won't have any diseases at all . But you should learn exactly , how to perform them .

  • Everything regular push-ups build. But it's a more complete range of motion for the shoulders -- also requires more spinal flexibility. V.good to do if you practice any grappling arts. Try alternating this with whatever push-ups you usually do to see the difference. Cheers & good health.

  • I trained with Steve and some of his students in Philly back in the 90's and he is the real deal as far as conditioning and fighting. He was at the forefront of the Bodyweight and Kettlebell movements. Tsatsouline would not be as far along if it wasnt for others and ESPECIALLY Steve Maxwell.

    I always say that if you want to know whats the Latest and Greatest and cutting edge as far as Conditioning find out what Steve Maxwell is doing.

    Its a part of a yoga exercise called 'Suryanamaskar'

    and this part is called the 'Bhujangasan'

    This exercise is suppose to be done in the morning facing the sun.

  • In Bhujangasan, you don't lift your knees off the ground. Look at the exercise. This is Hindu Pushups.
