Hot dam! I remember when I got this game, holy shit man. The graphics were AMAZING for the time, and the gameplay was awesome. I'll eventually be downloading this game into my VC .

Shoot the puck just before the blue line (the screen won't move in time for your opponent to react in time) to score an easy goal. The other vintage 'cheap' goal in this game was to stand just below the goalie near the goal line and bank it in off the heel of his skate. Success rate was ridiculously high for both moves. But we all know the real reasons we played this game was the fights, the penalty shootouts and the intermission mini-games anyway. Classic.

The video cuts off right before the fight, how appropriate. =P Never really liked hockey games, or sports games for that matter, except NBA Jam. My brother just got the one from 06. I've gotta play it sometime.

Blades of Steel and Track & Field II have two of the best NES soundtracks, which is unusual for sports games.

By the way, your video features an extended version of the song where the players skate onto the ice and circle around a few times. In the game, that song cuts off a little sooner.
